Chapter 341: Controlling the Eye Demon

The moment Midi began fleeing, he immediately alerted Reinhardt and the others to wait in ambush at the predetermined location.

He hadn’t lured the All-Seeing Demon simply to trap it—he intended to capture it alive!

A living All-Seeing Demon held exponentially greater value than a corpse destined for lab materials.

Its "Thousand-Mile Insight" ability was every commander’s ultimate desire.

In this boundless Star Ocean where both the sect headquarters hunted enemy positions and Midi sought the Behemoth’s trail, confronting the sect’s forces while they possessed other All-Seeing Demons left Midi only one strategic option.

Only an All-Seeing Demon could counter another All-Seeing Demon.

This wasn’t mere physical combat but a war of intelligence, reconnaissance, and strategic judgment.

Securing this creature meant gaining equal information-gathering capabilities for direct combat against the sect.

When Fourth Temple leader Loz fled the battlefield to save himself, leaving this frenzied All-Seeing Demon behind, Midi’s resolve to capture it hardened irrevocably.

"Take it alive! Wiseman—if you’ve got any tricks, now’s the time!" Midi roared at the Necromancer.

Wiseman’s prior successes—capturing exotic creatures and even converting a savage two-headed wyvern into an undead mount—convinced Midi the man possessed specialized capture methods.

Though respecting personal secrets, Midi couldn’t afford courtesy—this demon’s strategic value surpassed even a Wind King Warship.

Wiseman grimaced. "You overestimate me, Midi. That’s an Eye Demon from the Shaded Realm’s apex predators!"

"Just do it!" Midi’s pallid face betrayed his exhaustion, worsened by fusing the Dragon Sealing Sword with psychic energy to create the Spirit Dragon Sword at level 59. Even consuming two Radiance of Light crystals during their desperate escape hadn’t replenished his drained reserves.

The team sprang into action seeing their leader’s weakness.

Wiseman drove his armored undead wyvern mount forward—a recent Star Ocean acquisition. But the All-Seeing Demon’s eyeball ray, which had crippled a Fury Cruiser, vaporized the wyvern’s head and wing with a glancing hit.

Chanting rapidly, Wiseman summoned black smoke that regenerated the mount’s missing parts.

As the undead wyvern harried the enraged demon, Reinhardt’s Vanguard ships encircled it, firing barbed harpoons. Most bounced off chitinous armor or got blasted by minor eye-magic. Only few found gaps in the plating—temporary restraints at best against the thrashing behemoth.

Fortunately, the brief moment was enough for Wiseman.

The Necromancer’s body surged with wild magic as he chanted incantations. Dark light erupted between his palms before he slammed them downward.

A gigantic claw manifested in the void, clamping around the eight-meter-wide All-Seeing Demon. Though an eyeball ray shattered the claw, remnants of Death’s aura persisted, worming into the demon’s body like parasites to drain its vitality.

    Necromancer skill: Claw of Death.

Without pause, Wiseman flicked his fingers. A torrent of sickly purple-black mist cascaded onto the demon’s head like liquid shadow.

    Death’s Lament – another vitality-draining skill.

Under the combined assault, even the frenzied All-Seeing Demon began showing fatigue.

Wiseman wasn’t finished. He condensed a marble-sized black sphere radiating terrifying magic waves and hurled it. The projectile moved sluggishly but left a decaying trail through the air, dodging an eyeball ray before burrowing into the demon’s flesh.

    Necromancer skill: Cursed Bolt.

Though weak in raw attack power, the spell could curse targets to drastically reduce Attributes like Intelligence, Physical Strength, and Power. Success depended on the willpower gap between caster and victim – a magical imitation of mind-related abilities.

The frenzied demon’s mental resistance had plummeted. Had Midi’s psychic energy not been exhausted, subduing it would’ve been simple. Now, Wiseman’s curse achieved the same effect through different means.

The All-Seeing Demon shuddered. Blood vessels receded from its central eye as its aura withered.

    "Will it die?" Midi blurted.

"Just needs freezing," Wiseman answered casually, though sweat glistened on his brow betrayed his earlier tension.

At his order, Ice Mages from the Vanguard ships encased the helpless demon in a glacier-like ice block. Deprived of flying skills, the massive creature would’ve plunged from the Sea of Clouds – but harpoons and steel cables anchored it securely.

    The Eye Demon was captured.

Meanwhile, the main battle concluded. After brutal losses, Judge Marcel’s top-down assault shattered the sect headquarters’ fleet. Though still numerous, the enemy had lost their flagship. Cowardly commander Loz’s desertion shattered their morale. Facing Blood Hell Island’s anti-air firepower, they retreated.

Blood Purification couldn’t pursue. Their decimated forces risked counterattacks if they left the island’s defensive range. The prudent Marcel watched grimly as enemy ships vanished into the Star Ocean.

Victory brought no cheers. The alliance paid dearly:

    – Outposts eradicated

    – Base location exposed

    – Defenses mapped

    – Blood Purification’s fifty-year fleet halved

This wasn’t triumph – it was survival through desperation.

All knew the sect headquarters would return with greater forces. Escape? The All-Seeing Demons would track them. Fortify? The enemy outproduced them two-to-one. The protective "wall" between factions lay in ruins.

"Can’t run. Can’t hide. Can’t defend. Can’t outlast." Midi’s exhausted eyes burned with undimmed resolve. "Then we attack." His gaze locked on the frozen demon. "First – we’ll rip their headquarters’ location from that thing."
