Chapter 376
by 林方方Chapter 376 The Desert Wolf’s Young Gang Leader
On this point, Yan Shao didn’t seem to be lying — he really had been planning to book the entire screening room for some “premium entertainment.” He had originally intended to check out the inner hall first before discussing the private booking, but before he even had a chance to get a clear look around, things had nearly ignited between him and the two women like dry wood meeting fire.
Yan Shao had been used to throwing his weight around in the northwest — how could he possibly have thought through all those details?
“You booked the place?” Su Rui raised an eyebrow and smiled, holding up the two movie tickets in his hand. “If you booked the whole venue, then what are these tickets in my hand for? If you’d reserved it in advance, shouldn’t you have bought up every single ticket?”
Yan Shao had no answer for that. Furious, he pointed at Su Rui and said, “Don’t ruin my mood. I’m giving you thirty seconds — get out of here!”
“You tell me to get lost and I just go?” Su Rui had never backed down from a challenge his whole life. He laughed coldly and said, “This is Ninghai. A guy with a northwest accent like yours really shouldn’t be making such a scene.”
Su Rui had studied dialects from all over the country, and he easily picked up on the faint northwest accent in Yan Shao’s speech. On top of that, the man had already mentioned to the two women something about going back to the northwest and doing this and that, making it clear where he was from. If he said a few more words in dialect, Su Rui could probably pinpoint exactly which city he was from.
It was clear that this so-called “Yan Shao,” despite dressing exactly like a nouveau riche, held a position of considerable standing back in the northwest. But this was Ninghai. The Qinglong Gang were the local snakes, and Su Rui — who had brought Li Yang to heel — was the snake king. No matter how fierce a dragon crossing the river might be, it had to tread carefully and keep a low profile here.
The two women beside Yan Shao put their hands on their hips and looked at Su Rui sideways. “Yan Shao told you to get lost, so get lost already. Don’t be shameless about it!”
Backed by the man beside them, the two women sneered and mocked Su Rui, their words growing increasingly reckless.
“Who exactly are you calling shameless?”
Su Rui slowly stood up, looked at the woman who had just mouthed off, then glanced at Lin Aoxue beside him, the smile on his face gradually fading.
If it had just been him alone, he wouldn’t have cared too much no matter what they said about him — at most he’d go over and beat them up and that would be the end of it. But Su Rui could never allow anyone to insult someone he cared about, not even the simplest verbal slight.
Seeing Su Rui stand up for her, Lin Aoxue’s eyes flickered, and she stood up alongside him.
Only then did Yan Shao notice that there was such a strikingly beautiful woman in this screening room.
In all his twenty-some years of life, he had never seen a single woman more beautiful than Lin Aoxue. The moment he laid eyes on her, an intense desire to conquer surged within him.
This woman embodied virtually every fantasy Yan Shao had ever had about women.
A flawless face, a perfect figure, and that cold, indifferent expression — it made his heart pound.
Yan Shao had been with countless women, and ordinary women could no longer stir his imagination. This young master had long since been chasing more unconventional thrills, yet the moment he saw Lin Aoxue, he still heard his own heart skip a beat.
“I’m saying both you and this woman are being shameless — got a problem with that?” The woman clinging to Yan Shao’s right arm gave Lin Aoxue a cold, sidelong glance and said, “Not bad looking, though who knows if she’s had work done on her face. Her chest is pretty big too — who knows how many men have been there.”
The insult was grating beyond measure, and Su Rui’s expression instantly darkened.
She had barely finished speaking when a sharp, resounding slap echoed through the screening room.
The woman staggered from the blow, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth, nearly collapsing to the floor.
She covered her face and stared at Yan Shao in disbelief.
It had been him who hit her just now.
Su Rui and Lin Aoxue exchanged a glance, both seemingly caught off guard by this sudden turn of events.
The three of them — two women and one man — had clearly been united against the outsiders a moment ago. How had it suddenly turned into an internal conflict?
“A sorry piece of work like you thinks she has the right to insult such a beautiful young lady? Do you have any idea how far beneath her you are?” Yan Shao fixed a cold stare on the woman he had been tangled up with just moments ago and said, “While I’m still not fully angry, get out of my sight. Don’t ever appear in front of me again.”
Hearing this, Su Rui cast a meaningful glance at Lin Aoxue. Being this beautiful was clearly not a good thing at all — it stirred up trouble wherever she went. Just look at this — the moment this man laid eyes on Lin Aoxue, he didn’t even need a second before he turned around and kicked his own woman to the curb.
They say a beautiful woman is a curse, and that was absolutely right — this was more devastating than a nuclear weapon.
“Yan Shao, Yan Shao, please don’t do this — I was only standing up for you!”
The woman covered her face and sobbed. She couldn’t give up just like that. She had already invested so much in this man, and if she left now, everything she’d put in would be wasted — completely meaningless.
“You think I need you to stand up for me?” Yan Shao laughed coldly. “Who am I? What’s my status? There are plenty of people who look out for me. Who do you think you are? I was only playing around with you because I was bored. Get lost!”
With just those few words from Yan Shao, the woman’s whole body trembled.
She tried to say something, but Yan Shao immediately cut her off. “Did you not hear what I said? Do you know what happens to people who defy me?”
Just moments ago they had been all over each other, and now he had turned on her in an instant. As cold as it made her feel, she knew all too well what Yan Shao was capable of, and could only leave with bitter reluctance.
Before she left, she shot a deeply venomous glare at Lin Aoxue.
It was obvious she had figured it out — if Lin Aoxue hadn’t shown up, Yan Shao would never have treated her this way.
Watching that venomous look, Su Rui couldn’t help but shake his head. This woman was truly pitiful — she’d been slapped by a man and still hadn’t grasped the real source of the conflict.
One woman gone, there was still one more at Yan Shao’s side. She hesitated for a moment, then reached out and grabbed Yan Shao’s arm.
But the moment she touched him, he roughly shoved his hand out, hitting her squarely in the chest.
He put considerable force behind it. The woman lost her balance, stumbled back two steps, and landed hard on the floor.
“Same goes for you — disappear from my sight!” Yan Shao snapped.
His mind was entirely set on winning Lin Aoxue’s heart now — he had no concern whatsoever for what happened to these two women.
The woman didn’t dare say a word in protest. She scrambled to her feet, clutching her bruised backside, and stumbled out of the room.
Watching this scene, Lin Aoxue’s expression turned as cold as frost.
“Allow me to introduce myself.” Yan Shao fixed his gaze on Lin Aoxue and smiled in what he believed was a refined manner. “My name is Yan Kaida. I’ve come from the northwest. Meeting you today is truly a stroke of fortune — you are simply breathtaking. May I ask your name?”
There he was in his floral shirt and gold chain, clearly hot-tempered, yet putting on airs of elegance and refinement. Su Rui stood to the side watching, utterly speechless.
“You’re interrupting my movie.” Lin Aoxue gave Yan Kaida no face whatsoever and said coldly.
“It seems you have a rather straightforward personality — that’s quite similar to me, I’m also a direct person.” Yan Kaida said. “Miss, if I’ve offended you in any way just now, please don’t take it to heart. Why don’t we go for a drink in a bit — let’s meet with a smile and let bygones be bygones. What do you say?”
Su Rui standing to the side had truly heard enough. Here he was, a living, breathing person standing right there, and the other man was completely ignoring him — that really didn’t feel great at all.
“You’re clearly an uncultured brute, yet here you are speaking in such a flowery way. ‘Meet with a smile and let bygones be bygones’ — can you even write out all those characters?”
As he spoke, Su Rui reached out and wrapped an arm around Lin Aoxue’s slender waist — he was staking his claim.
Lin Aoxue was only wearing a fitted tank top, so Su Rui’s arm around her was barely different from touching her skin directly — smooth and flat, not an ounce of excess flesh, and the feel of it was exceptional.
Su Rui put a little extra force into that embrace, and Lin Aoxue was pulled directly into his arms.
Her body tensed, she lost her balance, and instinctively reached out and wrapped her arm around Su Rui’s waist in return.
From where Yan Kaida stood across from them, this display of the two holding and embracing each other was nothing short of blatant public affection right in front of his face.
His expression instantly turned thunderously dark.
Having lived a pampered, privileged life in the northwest, he had now been rebuffed and humiliated by this man and woman time and again, and it made Yan Kaida furious beyond measure.
He stared at the hand Su Rui had wrapped around Lin Aoxue’s waist, his eyes practically blazing with fire.
In his mind, a woman like Lin Aoxue — how could she be held like that by another man?
A woman like her should belong to him alone. Su Rui’s actions only inflamed Yan Kaida’s possessiveness further.
Su Rui kept his arm around Lin Aoxue’s waist and said leisurely, “Now I’m genuinely curious to see what you — a man who supposedly doesn’t want to make a scene in Ninghai — is going to do.”
Life was supposed to be such a simple thing, yet there were always so many oblivious fools jumping out of nowhere, acting like they owned the world and trying to take something from you.
For people like that, was there any better solution than landing a solid punch?
“Fine. I’ll tell you right now what I’m going to do.” Yan Kaida pointed at Lin Aoxue and said with a cold smile, “She will be mine in the end.”
With that, he shouted at the top of his voice, “What are you standing around outside for? Get in here, all of you!”
That single shout carried a domineering edge to it.
The moment Yan Kaida’s words fell, more than twenty fierce-looking men poured in from outside the screening room, each with a menacing glare, lining up behind him.
No wonder this guy had been so brazen — he had quite a few men backing him up.
“Let me introduce myself.” Yan Kaida glanced at Lin Aoxue, a faint smile crossing the corner of his mouth, and said, “I am the young master of the northwest Mowolf Gang.”
