Volume 1 Volume 6 Chapter 76
by post_apiVolume 6 Chapter 76: The Final Battle Begins (5)
Just when Liu Ziqing and Zhang Yi thought Xu Qingfan was surely doomed and began to consider how to snatch the body from the demon’s hands, a towering black shadow over ten yards high, along with two normal human figures, suddenly stood in front of Xu Qingfan.
The massive shadow was a figure wearing a black robe with a hood, beneath which were two strange blood-red lights. In its left hand was the Death God Sword, and in its right was the Book of Life and Death. It was Little Black’s "Death God Clone," which finally appeared at the critical moment.
Because of the long preparation time, this time the power of the "Death God Clone" surpassed any of Little Black’s previous summonings.
The two normal figures beside him were Xu Qingfan’s two shadow clones and Xu Zhiyuan.
As for Little Black, after using all his energy to perform "Death God Clone," he was now too exhausted to fight, hanging over Xu Qingfan’s shoulder.
Seeing three figures of different sizes suddenly appear in front of him, the monster paused slightly but showed no fear, charging straight at Xu Qingfan, ignoring the "Death God Sword" from the Death God Clone, Xu Zhiyuan’s Five Elements Taoist Method, and Xu Ying’s powerful attack.
With a roar, its eyes glowing with a strange light, an endless wave of fierce flames and icy air rushed toward Xu Qingfan, quickly covering the three to four meters that brought it into the monster’s attack range.
However, Xu Qingfan had already anticipated this; suddenly, around him, a flash of spiritual light appeared, and a transparent bell-shaped shield protected Xu Qingfan, blocking the monster’s attack. It was the "Five Spirit Bell" that Xu Qingfan had prepared earlier.
The monster was about to continue its attack but was hit by the strikes from the "Death God Clone," Xu Ying, and Xu Zhiyuan. It howled in pain, feeling trapped, and had no choice but to eliminate the three obstacles in front of it first.
The monster allowed the Five Elements Taoist Method to hit it, but its many strange eyes suddenly flashed with spiritual light. Xu Zhiyuan felt the Five Elements Spirit Qi around him becoming incredibly thin, causing his speed in using his techniques to drop significantly and their power to be much weaker than before.
When facing Xu Ying’s punch, the monster retaliated with a punch of its own, sending Xu Ying flying back over a hundred feet.
In contrast to the "Death God Clone’s" "Death God Sword," the monster was much more cautious. This "Death God Sword" had caused the most damage to it, and without any preparation, one of its arms was nearly severed. The wound from the "Death God Sword" was filled with powerful death energy, and even though the monster drew power from death, its recovery was much slower than usual.
The monster quickly dodged the attack from the "Death God Clone." It opened its mouth, and a powerful, angry wave of dark energy surged towards the "Death God Clone." Even though the "Death God Clone" was made of dark energy, it still feared this new type of dark energy filled with resentment and hurriedly moved away.
As a result, Xu Qingfan was now completely exposed in front of the monster.
Just as the monster was about to attack Xu Qingfan again, Xu Ying, who had been pushed back, bravely rushed to the monster’s side. In that moment, with a flash in his eyes, he punched the monster back a few steps. The monster wobbled, and its attack, which was almost finished, faded away.
Although Xu Zhiyuan’s threat had diminished, he did not give up. He kept using the weakened Five Elements Taoist Method to attack the monster.
Under Xu Qingfan’s command, the "Death God Clone," controlled by Little Black, ignored the damage from the dark energy and attacked fiercely while staying close to the monster.
Even though the monster was outnumbered three to one and still had the advantage, the situation finally calmed down. Xu Qingfan felt relieved and focused on using the "Sky Escaping Talisman."
As time went on, the "Death God Clone," which had taken most of the hits, was close to breaking apart, and Xu Ying and Xu Zhiyuan, made of energy, began to look a little dazed.
The faint, mysterious energy waves and colorful light surrounding Xu Qingfan suddenly became extremely strong.
The "Sky Escaping Talisman" was finally activated, and in the next moment, it would take Xu Qingfan away from here.
Under Xu Qingfan’s control, the "Five Spirit Bell" was recalled, while Xu Ying and Xu Zhiyuan quickly returned to Xu Qingfan’s side. The "Death God Clone" fought bravely, using the "Death God Sword" to defend against the demons’ attacks.
Finally, at the last moment before the "Death God Clone" completely fell apart, the "Sky Escaping Talisman" in Xu Qingfan’s hand activated completely.
"Oh no!"
Seeing Xu Qingfan becoming hazy in a rainbow of light, Liu Ziqing, who had just been watching, suddenly remembered what this meant and rushed towards Xu Qingfan.
Liu Ziqing moved quickly, but the demon was even faster. Just then, the demon had launched a wave of attacks, and its eyes were dim, unable to continue attacking while blocking the "Death God Clone." It seemed to pose no threat to Xu Qingfan.
However, just as Xu Qingfan was about to completely disappear from everyone’s sight, a dark shadow flashed before him, and in the next moment, he felt a sharp pain in his chest, almost fainting.
Looking down, he saw the long tail of the demon’s weapon suddenly stretch many times longer, with its many sharp barbs piercing into Xu Qingfan’s chest.
In the next moment, Liu Ziqing flashed to Xu Qingfan’s side and reached out to grab him, but he only caught a flickering shadow. As the rainbow light flickered, Xu Qingfan vanished. At that moment, the demon completely defeated the "Death God Clone," and with a swipe of its tail, a splash of blood formed a rain of blood, covering the ground between it and Xu Qingfan.
That was Xu Qingfan’s blood.
Just as Liu Ziqing was feeling frustrated about letting Xu Qingfan escape, he suddenly felt an immense sense of terrifying danger rushing towards him. When he looked up, he saw the monster staring at him with its strange, dark red eyes. The monster could not see the secret struggle between Liu Ziqing and Xu Qingfan; it only knew that the person in front of it had just attacked it along with Xu Qingfan. Now, after finally chasing Xu Qingfan down, he was escaping again, which made the monster furious. It needed something to vent its rage.
A wry smile appeared at the corner of Liu Ziqing’s mouth. He had spent his whole life planning against others, but this was already the third time he had been outsmarted by Xu Qingfan. Not only had he not regained the "World Defying Sword," but he had also fallen into deep trouble. Meanwhile, Xu Qingfan, who had caused the trouble, had already escaped who knows where with the "Sky Escaping Talisman."
"Would Zhang Xusheng let himself be so easily outsmarted by Xu Qingfan?"
Instinctively, Liu Ziqing began to compare himself to Zhang Xusheng, and the answer he found was no, which only made him feel more frustrated.
He considered himself clever but was unwilling to be outmaneuvered by Xu Qingfan, and he was even less willing to feel so inferior to Zhang Xusheng.
But before he could continue to dwell in his frustration, the monster in front of him suddenly roared and lunged at Liu Ziqing.
Liu Ziqing’s form flickered, and he split into two identical Liu Ziqings, then four, then eight, then sixteen…
This was Liu Ziqing’s third reason for being confident that Zhang Xusheng couldn’t harm him: his Original Soul could split infinitely. Each split was his true self, and as long as one remained, he would never die.
One of the splits dashed to Zhang Yi’s side and urged, "Run!"
While they were talking, the clone took Zhang Yi and flew quickly into the distance. The monsters wanted to stop them but were tangled up by other clones and couldn’t break free for a moment.
Each clone of Liu Ziqing had the same wonderful powers as he did, able to become both real and invisible, moving faster than anything in this world. Even though the monsters had the upper hand against so many clones, they still couldn’t kill a single one.
After a long time, when Liu Ziqing and Zhang Yi disappeared into the sky, all the Liu Ziqing clones around the monsters suddenly vanished at once.
The monsters were stunned for a moment, then let out a roar towards the sky, feeling even more anger inside, and their power surged again.
After venting for a long time, the monster transformed into a black light and dashed toward the west.
Through that drop of Xu Qingfan’s blood inside it, it could sense that Xu Qingfan was currently somewhere in the west, and its pursuit of Xu Qingfan was relentless; either it would die or Xu Qingfan would!
…
"Thankfully, it’s on the right side of my chest again."
Xu Qingfan murmured.
When Xu Qingfan used the "Sky Escaping Talisman" to teleport, his first reaction was to check the wound on his chest. Blood flowed out in streams, soaking Xu Qingfan’s white clothes. The monster’s tail had pierced straight through Xu Qingfan’s body, leaving a huge and deep wound. As he looked down, he could even see what was happening behind him through the injury.
Shaking his dizzy head from loss of blood, Xu Qingfan swallowed several healing pills one after another. He bitterly smiled to himself, realizing that after the many battles and serious injuries, the precious healing potions he had gathered over the years were sadly running low.
With the power of the potions, Xu Qingfan finally subdued the shocking wound on his chest. Feeling the injury slowly start to heal, he let out a long breath. Though the wound could heal easily, he had no idea how long it would take to regain the energy he had lost from being hurt.
As he lifted his head, Xu Qingfan began to observe where he had teleported to. Before him lay a dim space, and it seemed he had accidentally arrived in the heart of a mountain.
The scene inside the mountain—its structure, size, rocks, and plants—felt oddly familiar to Xu Qingfan, but he was certain he had never been here before.
"Where is this place?"
Xu Qingfan murmured, filled with confusion.
But in an instant, his body trembled as if he remembered something, and he exclaimed in disbelief, "I’ve actually come here?!"
