    Chapter 568: The Next Journey

"Rotgrip, the giant crocodile lurking deep in the underground rivers beneath the Terramok mountains," Greed said mysteriously, "It is said to have lived here for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. It’s like a crocodile god. When I was young, I didn’t know where Terramok was. I asked my father, and he told me it might be in Stranglethorn. But later, I found out that there was no such place in Stranglethorn. Slowly, I forgot about it."

"But Nesingwary has always wanted to find the location of Terramok, to hunt down the legendary crocodile Rotgrip with his own hands. Look, Jesse, I’m sure the Terramok in that story must be this place – beneath the mountains, in the deep underground river, on a distant mysterious continent. It fits perfectly!"

Excited, Greed stood up and patted the rough stone pillar beside him. Vereesa asked, "Terramok seems real, but is the giant crocodile Rotgrip real?"

"It doesn’t matter," Jesse said. "As long as this place is real, that’s what matters…"

"Sell this place’s information to Nesingwary!" he and the dwarf said in unison.

Vereesa gave them a sideways glance and said, "I thought you two were determined to hunt down this so-called god of crocodiles yourselves, maybe I could help."

"It’s a waste of time," Jesse said. "I just want to get out of here fast now."

Greed nodded and said, "I learned hunting skills to survive in the forests of Hinterlands, not to challenge the scariest giant beasts in the world. I even hope this crocodile is fake. I don’t want to face it directly here! After all, Greed from the Thunderfist clan has already defeated a demon general from the Burning Legion, I don’t need a crocodile to prove my strength."

"I’m the one who won," Jesse said, lying on his arm.

Vereesa chuckled, while Greed snored loudly. Jesse glanced at him and said, "He falls asleep pretty fast."

After resting for a bit and drying their clothes, the group followed along the edge of the underground river.

Their thick and intricate outer robes and cloaks were uncomfortable in the damp cave without any conditions to make a fire, and burning flames solely through magic was too wasteful. They only managed to partially dry their clothes, which made the following journey extremely uncomfortable.

Jesse took out his pocket watch and saw that it had stopped, maybe because it got wet.

Inside the cave, it was hard to tell day from night, so they couldn’t know how long they had been walking or if it was day or night outside anymore.

Vereesa, who was walking ahead, turned around and asked, "Should we go to Eldre’Thalas?"

Since their last rest, Jesse had been wanting to bring up this question as the clues were pointing in that direction. If they didn’t check it out, it would feel like they left things unfinished.

After the dangerous journey through Maraudon, fighting with an elemental lord, and struggling in the stream for so long, Jesse was too tired and hungry to suggest going to another mysterious place with his companions.

However, Vereesa seemed more enthusiastic than him.

Greed looked at her and said, "We have found many clues in this cave. According to our agreement, we should at least get seventy to eighty gold coins from the Reliquary. Do you really want to go to that scary place, elf? I mean, the Highborne might not always be hiding there. Look, she left behind so many things here, and the Reliquary found many of her clues in other parts of Kalimdor, suggesting she is always on the move…"

"I know," Vereesa said. "Originally, this dagger alone wouldn’t have motivated me to go there, but after seeing the various Eldre’Thalas information collected by the Satyrs…"

"It could just be a coincidence," Greed said. "The Satyrs are planning to sneak into Eldre’Thalas to find ancient elven treasures, and the Demonic Figurine related to Dethmoora might just be something else they found interesting from elsewhere. These two clues might be completely unrelated…"

"You make sense," Vereesa said. "But only because you don’t understand the Kaldorei language, Greed. If you had read those books about Eldre’Thalas, you wouldn’t think that way."

"Yes, some books mention the outer defenses and internal energy systems of that city… but more of them focus on the inner structure, especially exaggerating about the demon seals deep in Eldre’Thalas, the spells on demon cages, sealing methods, energy sources, and so on."

Hearing this, Jesse couldn’t help but look up. While helping Vereesa read those books, he had been solely focused on the Satyrs inside Eldre’Thalas and paid no attention to the other confusing Elvish characters mentioned. Of course, he also didn’t have the ability to understand them.

The elf continued, "It’s hard to explain in just a few words. In simple terms, Vyletongue and his followers are not really concerned about breaking through the outer defenses of Eldre’Thalas. It’s more about how to escape from the inside, particularly from the cages inside, but I don’t know if you can grasp my meaning."

"I don’t understand," Greed said. "Are these Satyrs trying to break in to help their companions escape from that city?"

"Let’s skip the going in part, maybe that’s more accurate," Vereesa said. "I have a theory that they want to use summoning spells to bring their companions out from that city because their companions are magically imprisoned by the Kaldorei inside. Molofeel’s words reminded me of this. Remember the intricate spell you mentioned, where under difficult conditions, targets are summoned out?"

"Right, Quel’dorai," Molofeel said. "That spell can break the seals on summoned demons, as long as the summoner’s magic is strong enough, or the energy they use is powerful enough."

"Will those Centaur hero Soulstones be enough?" Vereesa asked.

Molofeel smiled and said, "It depends on how strong the seals are. I think clearly not strong enough. If they were, they would have tried summoning already, right? There must be various reasons why they haven’t done so."

"It’s getting messier." Greed looked at the demons and elves discussing heatedly and asked, "So this sealed demon, he must be a demon at least, what does he have to do with Dethmoora Darkeye we’re looking for?"

"Our target is a warlock, buddy!" Saenor reminded, "This demon is likely her servant, don’t forget about the Demonic Figurine closely related to her, are you having trouble understanding?"
