Chapter 525
by post_apiChapter 525: Hatred Towards Demons
A Centaur below was about to stab the vulnerable beast as it turned around. Vereesa glanced over and noticed Jesse’s concern.
This Druid was likely a Night Elf, as at this time, the Tauren were not aware of the Horde, let alone joining the fight against the Burning Legion led by Archimonde in Hyjal alongside their allies, the Night Elves and their great Druid, Malfurion Stormrage.
If it was a Night Elf Druid, it meant they had a strong hatred for demons. Seeing Jesse openly roaming Kalimdor with a demon would spark intense animosity, even more than these Centaur.
Saving this Night Elf would essentially mean rescuing a fierce opponent ready to battle to the end. They had intended to avoid the elves in Gadgetzan.
But even though he thought like that, he couldn’t just stand by without helping, so Jesse followed Greed’s footsteps.
The dwarf showed confidence in fighting demons in the Blasted Lands. Without hesitation, he picked up his axe, held his small round shield, slid down the slope, and let out a loud roar that made all the Centaurs surrounding the beast turn their heads.
"Three against one? Let me join to balance the odds!"
He shouted like this, but it was clear that the Centaurs had no idea what the dwarf was saying. The one closest to him panicked and clumsily raised his spear at the unexpected guest.
Greed picked up his shield and raised the warhammer in his hand. The electric light coiled around the warhammer clearly shocked the opponent. Before they could attack, a burst of bright light suddenly exploded, causing the spear-bearing Centaur to cry out in pain and fall to the ground.
Another Centaur was trying to circle around to attack the dwarf with his spear, but Greed blocked the spear with his shield, breaking the spear tip. Vereesa’s arrow shot accurately, hitting the approaching Centaur’s shoulder, disrupting their coordination to sandwich the dwarf.
The Centaur hit by the arrow held his shoulder in pain and howled a few times towards the Centaur with the broken spear. They seemed to realize that this group was not to be messed with, so the two immediately turned and fled.
Everything happened very quickly. Before Jesse could even finish chanting a spell, the two Centaurs had already fled a long distance, quickly disappearing between the rocky slopes.
The remaining Centaur, who was knocked down, struggled to get up. He stood tall and strong, resembling a sturdy wild horse. His muscular upper body swayed with his loud shouts, swinging his head with each movement.
He still held his spear against the dwarf in front of him. Greed tapped his shield provocatively. The dwarf, holding a long spear, kept speaking in an unfamiliar language and stepped back.
The Centaur took big steps, even when retreating. The dwarf was not used to the Centaur’s quick movements. After a moment of confrontation, the dwarf realized he couldn’t catch up and let out a loud yell in frustration.
Vereesa aimed her bow at the Centaur, ready to shoot. Jesse gently touched her arm and said, "Let it go. If we kill one, the other Centaurs might cause trouble in the entire stone forest. It will make our journey ahead difficult."
The elf glanced at Jesse, nodded, and lowered her bow. Molofeel appeared from a distance, stopped chasing, and casually patted his arms.
Vereesa approached the beast to check its injuries, but it growled and backed away, kicking up dust.
Jesse observed the beast and noticed it was covered in wounds from spear cuts. In the dim light, he could see its yellow-brown fur, still dry in some areas not stained with blood.
According to the game experience, the color of a Druid’s transformed beast is often related to the Druid’s original skin color. For example, if a Night Elf’s skin is blue, gray-blue, or purple, the transformed beast is usually black, dark, or gray.
Could it be that this Druid is not a Night Elf?
Apart from Night Elves, which other races in Kalimdor practice Druid magic?
Molofeel returned to Jesse’s side. Seeing the demon approaching, the beast roared and stepped back into a cloud of dust. Soon, with a violent coughing sound, the dust cleared, revealing a tall and sturdy figure! A Tauren? This wasn’t an elf, but a Tauren!
Wasn’t Hamuul Runetotem, the great Druid of Thunder Bluff, the first Tauren Druid? But that was over a decade ago. So who was this?
Jesse was a bit confused. He even wondered if he had mistaken the race.
No, he wasn’t wrong. Although this Tauren was noticeably smaller than the one in Gadgetzan, probably only about two meters tall, with very short and thick horns on his head, he was indeed a Tauren.
The figure was wearing a heavy leather outer robe, holding a wooden stick that he seemed to have picked up from somewhere, pointing it towards them. He was sitting on the ground, continuously coughing up blood and shouting in a language that no one could understand.
"What is this monster saying?" asked Greed.
"I’ve never heard this language before!" Saenor said.
"It’s probably the Tauren’s own language. This guy doesn’t know the common tongue," Jesse thought for a moment and said, "I remember Tauren can communicate with the elements. Greed, try speaking to him in the language of the elements and see how he reacts."
"Um… um… let me try…," Greed muttered in a low voice after thinking for a while. Then, using the language of summoning elements, sparks began to flicker from his hammer. The Tauren was puzzled, unsure if it was Greed’s elemental language or the sudden release of elemental power from the hammer.
"What are you saying?" Jesse asked.
"I don’t know, I just said it randomly," the dwarf’s tone became more urgent, he continued, "How could I speak the language of the elements, I only remembered a few spells, Jesse! Don’t expect anything from me!"
At that moment, Tauren’s expression really resembled a startled calf, he shrank beside, occasionally glancing at the succubus next to Jesse.
"No way, let’s leave this place, don’t make this Druid so nervous," Jesse looked at Greed and Vereesa, both nodded, Tauren seemed to relax a bit only when they were about to leave.
