Chapter 421 Forced Rescue
by SurroundedbyBooks“That lunatic!”
Ji Wugou’s voice rang out with a mix of anger and frustration.
Soon, Tong and the others also arrived—even with their swift reactions, they too were driven back by the dense black spikes that had formed a cage.
It was clear they had already tested the danger of these black spikes and didn’t dare touch them again.
There was no doubt now—Yao Ye Queen had intentionally targeted Chen Fei, sealing him completely within the spike prison.
“Hurry, save him!”
Tong didn’t hesitate and immediately struck.
Xing Zheng, after a brief pause, cloaked himself in an earthy yellow light like solid stone and slammed directly into the black spikes.
Even Peach Blossom Fairy and Ji Wugou, after a moment of hesitation, joined in the effort to free Chen Fei.
The only one who didn’t move was Qin Shuang.
“Heh! If that bastard hadn’t run his mouth, we wouldn’t have provoked her in the first place!”
Qin Shuang, hoping for Chen Fei’s death, stood aside, unwilling to help.
She had already gotten what she came for—despite Yao Ye Queen’s interruption, with a bit of time, she could fully absorb her gains.
“You treacherous woman! Can’t you see she plans to kill all of us? More people means more power!”
Ji Wugou snapped. Had Yao Ye Queen not shown up, she would have already dealt with Qin Shuang herself.
“Save him if you want! I’m not playing anymore.”
Qin Shuang sneered, then crushed the squirming black eyeball in her hand.
The eyeball exploded with a foul stench, releasing a surge of dark light that wrapped around her—she vanished from the square in a blink.
It was no surprise—Qin Shuang had a Heaven Ascension Realm master as her teacher, so she naturally had life-saving trump cards.
But just as Qin Shuang escaped, the others began wavering.
She wasn’t wrong. The priority was to survive and escape, not to die resisting here.
They had all already obtained their treasures—why risk it now?
After all, everyone here had a Heaven Ascension Realm backer of their own.
Xing Zheng glanced at the spike prison and spoke heavily:
“I’ll leave first then.”
As his words fell, his face twisted in pain.
Just then, Yao Ye Queen’s voice rang out coldly:
“Did I say you could leave?
You blood sacrifices really lack self-awareness—it’s quite frustrating.”
As she spoke, a terrible scream echoed from the sky—it was Qin Shuang.
But before anyone could react, the dark energy wrapped around her again, and Yao Ye Queen’s strike missed!
“DAMN IT!”
Yao Ye Queen howled, her eyes going wild.
A violent surge of energy erupted from her, causing the entire Ghost King Hall to shake violently.
Heaven Ascension Realm!
Ji Wugou and the others gasped.
No wonder she could dominate them all—she was at the Heaven Ascension Realm!
Despair flickered in their eyes.
Meanwhile, Qin Shuang, thinking she had escaped safely within her dark cocoon, suddenly found herself dragged back into the Ghost King Hall.
“What’s happening?!”
Panic surged in her eyes.
Spikes erupted around her, trapping her in the blink of an eye.
“No!”
Qin Shuang screamed in anger and despair.
Just as the spikes were about to impale her, a giant hand appeared out of nowhere.
With a light flick, the hand shattered the spikes.
“Master!”
Qin Shuang’s eyes lit up upon recognizing the hand.
But Dingshan’s voice was grim:
“Leave!”
He grabbed Qin Shuang, tore through space by force, and disappeared.
This completely enraged Yao Ye Queen.
She unleashed a storm of spikes that rampaged across the sky, tearing apart the once-beautiful Ghost King Hall.
But the Ghost King Hall wasn’t an ordinary secret realm.
Just as she ran wild within it, a massive force slammed into her, sending her flying!
“NOW! Take this chance!”
Xing Zheng’s voice changed—imbued with authority and urgency.
“Withdraw!”
Outside the Ghost King Hall, a storm of spiritual force had gathered.
Earlier, Xing Zheng had used his bloodline to communicate with Tianqi, quickly relaying the situation.
“A high-level catastrophe creature somehow infiltrated the Ghost King Hall.
If we don’t act now, we’re finished!”
Tianqi shouted.
His body glowed with an earthen yellow light and began to swell in size.
Braving the storm’s assault on his body, he pushed his hand forward, tearing toward the Ghost King Hall.
Even though his hand cracked and twisted under the violent energy, he ignored the pain and pressed on.
Other Heaven Ascension experts paled—especially the two old masters from the Ji family.
“Damn it!”
“Bastard!”
They cursed in fury and rushed to act.
Yan Wujiao glanced at Mu Yunsu—both of them joined the charge.
So many Heaven Ascension experts moving together—the storm was terrifying, but they weren’t deterred.
Still, they all knew this:
Once the rescue was done, they had to leave immediately.
This land’s laws would begin indiscriminate backlash, and even Heaven Ascension experts would die if caught in it.
Inside the Ghost King Hall, Chen Fei was still trapped in the spike prison.
But the sky had now darkened, filled with massive cloud clusters, from which giant hands emerged, reaching toward everyone in the square.
Yao Ye Queen saw this and looked up.
Her face, once seductive, now twisted with horror as black veins spread across her features, making her appear utterly monstrous.
“You damn pests!”
she screeched.
Before the giant hands could descend, the square was suddenly filled with countless black spike prisons, sealing everyone inside.
“OPEN!”
A deep voice roared—Tianqi grabbed Xing Zheng first, led by their bloodline link.
Next were Yan Wujiao and Mu Yunsu, but both frowned.
Yan Wujiao could only sense Peach Blossom Fairy, while Mu Yunsu only felt Tong’s presence.
Time was too tight for doubts—Yao Ye Queen had gone fully insane, and her violent aura had torn open the sky above the Ghost King Hall.
The spiritual storm surged inward like a black tide.
“Miss! Where are you!?”
The two Ji family elders shouted anxiously, unaware that their panic had only drawn Yao Ye Queen’s attention to Ji Wugou.
“GET OUT!!”
Yao Ye Queen bellowed.
The Ghost King Hall collapsed instantly.
The grand formation shattered. Stone shards rained from the skies.
Seizing this moment, Yao Ye Queen controlled the spikes, swiftly rolling up Chen Fei and Ji Wugou, and vanishing with them.
Only Xing Zheng and the others who were rescued first made it out safely.
“NO!!!”
The two Ji elders roared in despair.
But they couldn’t resist the backlash of the spiritual storm either—their projected forms shattered instantly.
