Chapter 404 Fusing with the Fallen God
by SurroundedbyBooksWang Fang’s attack came without warning—fast, fierce, and brimming with confidence.
Though he wouldn’t admit it aloud, in his heart he was extremely wary of Chen Fei.
Even though his Blood Amber Pearl had evolved into a spiritual treasure, boosting his strength by at least 50%,
he still chose to ambush rather than fight Chen Fei head-on.
He was certain Chen Fei wouldn’t be able to dodge it.
But just as the crimson light was about to strike him,
Chen Fei’s body flickered strangely—
“Huh?”
Wang Fang froze, but his face immediately turned grim. He instinctively tried to retreat.
Too late.
Chen Fei moved faster than Wang Fang had imagined.
His fist smashed straight into Wang Fang’s nose.
Wang Fang’s vision went blurry instantly, a surge of pain exploding from his face.
He instinctively covered his nose and hastily activated the Blood Amber Pearl,
creating a large crimson shield of energy around his body.
Unfortunately for him, that level of defense was worthless against Chen Fei.
Before Wang Fang could stabilize midair,
Chen Fei punched the shield hard, sending powerful ripples through it.
“Interesting…”
Chen Fei was surprised—the shield was tougher than expected.
But he didn’t stop.
All those days in the Refinement Arena hadn’t just made him better at taking hits—
they’d taught him where to hit and how to shatter defenses.
“Break!”
With another solid punch, the shield shattered with a boom.
And then—
His fist landed squarely on Wang Fang’s face again.
Wang Fang had just recovered from the first blow, and before he could react,
Chen Fei’s punch launched him backward like a meteor,
smashing him into the Ascension Staircase behind.
The materials inside the Ghost King Palace were incredibly sturdy—
when Wang Fang’s body hit, there was a sharp crack of breaking bones.
The pain was so intense, his eyeballs nearly bulged out.
But Chen Fei showed no mercy.
In a flash, he was in front of Wang Fang again and stomped down hard.
Wang Fang panicked and rolled to the side like a donkey,
then immediately summoned the Blood Amber Pearl again.
From within it, a blood-red humanoid puppet appeared.
It lunged straight at Chen Fei in a crimson blur.
Chen Fei didn’t flinch.
Instead, he raised one hand, formed a seal, and pressed his palm directly on the puppet.
Boom!
The puppet exploded into bloody mist.
Luckily for Wang Fang, he used that moment to scramble back up and widen the distance between them.
Now his face was filled with both fear and rage.
“Damn it! Even after evolving my spiritual treasure, this guy is still this strong?!”
His twisted expression reflected his unwillingness to accept reality.
“No! I can’t let it end like this!”
Gritting his teeth, Wang Fang pulled out the Eye and Hand of the Fallen God.
But rather than using the eye to attack Chen Fei,
he had the Fallen God’s Hand grab hold of the Blood Amber Pearl.
“The Fallen God’s power may be mighty, but it’s not mine…
Still, if I had more soul bones, this would go even better!”
Then, glaring hatefully at Chen Fei, he muttered:
“But since you showed up early, I’ll make do!”
The Blood Amber Pearl began to emit a dim crimson glow,
which grew brighter and sharper with each passing second.
Chen Fei didn’t intervene.
He simply stood off to the side, arms folded, watching with interest.
So he’s trying to use his spiritual treasure to absorb the Fallen God’s power…
A clever workaround. Not everyone has a Void Heaven Cauldron to shield them.
As he observed, the crimson glow flickered wildly.
Eventually, the Blood Amber Pearl softened and morphed,
transforming into a slender, scarlet snake.
The snake coiled with an elegant, agile grace.
It raised its head, looked at Chen Fei, flicked its tongue, and then wound itself around Wang Fang’s arm.
It slithered up to his Fallen God Arm, and with no hesitation, began absorbing the black qi from it.
The snake’s body trembled in obvious pain,
but it didn’t retreat—it just opened its mouth and kept enduring,
its form quivering from the strain.
As it absorbed the Fallen God’s energy,
Wang Fang’s original arm gradually began to reappear.
Suddenly, a black shadow appeared, roaring at the snake in fury.
Wang Fang’s eyes turned vicious.
“Just a remnant divine will, and you dare act arrogant?
SHUT UP!”
He pulled out a blood-colored lotus from his hand.
It blossomed in a flash, releasing waves of bloody light outward.
Each wave that struck the shadow weakened it noticeably—
but when it hit the snake, the serpent instead arched its back in pleasure, almost purring in ecstasy.
Then—
“Chen Fei! What, you’re not going to attack?”
Wang Fang suddenly turned to him with a mocking sneer.
Chen Fei gave him a lazy look, arms still crossed.
“Attack? Help you?”
“You must think I’m stupid.”
It was clear Wang Fang had planned this all along—trying to lure Chen Fei into fighting,
so the Fallen God’s energy would be weakened further in the chaos.
Wang Fang scowled.
“How can you be so sure I was trying to provoke you?”
Chen Fei narrowed his eyes and smiled.
“Come on, Wang Fang.
I know you too well.
Don’t waste your breath—focus on absorbing that Fallen God energy.
Looks like it’s not very happy right now.”
Wang Fang nearly vomited blood from frustration.
But at this moment, the Fallen God’s backlash erupted.
Just as the phantom on the Fallen God Arm was about to vanish,
the Fallen God’s Eye suddenly turned to Wang Fang!
Even though Wang Fang had supposedly mastered it,
the eye betrayed him without hesitation.
A foul, muddy crimson light exploded from the eye, enveloping Wang Fang completely.
In the next second, his flesh began to melt like candle wax, dripping onto the ground.
Even Chen Fei’s eyes widened at the horrifying scene.
“Damn… Wang Fang! You might wanna slow that down a bit.
Yikes. You’re dripping on the floor.
What if you can’t pull yourself back together?”
He looked at him with mock concern and disgust.
Wang Fang’s rage surged.
He stared at Chen Fei with bulging, lidless eyes,
unable to respond as his body continued to dissolve in agony.
