Chapter 394 Just Here for the Wine Arent You
by SurroundedbyBooks“No! You came at the perfect time!”
There was no way Chen Fei was going to let Wang Feng escape now!
Without waiting for any argument, Chen Fei slammed the courtyard gate shut.
“You three can talk things out. I’m heading to Tianxin Pavilion to grab food and wine for everyone!”
He grabbed Wang Feng and muttered only one word:
“Go.”
Wang Feng, practically dragged like a puppet on strings, was pulled away by Chen Fei in a hurry.
Once they were out of sight of Shaocui Peak, Chen Fei let out a breath of relief and patted Wang Feng gratefully.
“Thank you, Senior Brother Wang. You saved my life.”
Wang Feng looked miserable.
“Don’t thank me. I’m scared, okay?”
He wasn’t joking. Everyone in the Tianqing Holy Land knew which women you absolutely should not mess with, and right now, three of them were all in Chen Fei’s courtyard.
And he had shown up right in the middle of that storm.
If they held a grudge, his future was doomed.
Still, it was a clear sign that Junior Brother Chen was no ordinary man.
“You’re overthinking it. No big deal!” Chen Fei replied with a sheepish smile. Then, a little more seriously, he asked,
“Senior Brother Wang, I wanted to ask… if the courtyard on Shaocui Peak gets wrecked, will the Inspectorate step in…?”
“Say no more. The Inspectorate won’t care. You can rest easy!” Wang Feng replied without hesitation.
That was all Chen Fei needed to hear.
No penalties? It’s practically a windfall! That meant there were no consequences at all!
Wang Feng didn’t stop there. He immediately reported the presence of the three Saintesses at Shaocui Peak to the Inspectorate.
The Inspectorate was known for being strict—but even they weren’t crazy enough to walk into that battlefield.
It was just a courtyard, after all. No one in their right mind would report it.
Chen Fei pulled Wang Feng along toward the Outer Sect, where Tianxin Pavilion was lively as ever.
Many Outer Sect disciples were gathered, eagerly listening to vivid retellings from Inner Sect disciples who had witnessed the Ghost King Token battle firsthand.
Even Chen Fei—who considered himself fairly thick-skinned—began to blush from the over-the-top praise.
“Aren’t they laying it on a bit thick?” he muttered awkwardly.
Inside Tianxin Pavilion, the only people present were Manfu, Wang Feng, Gong Tianshou, Dong Feng, and Chen Fei.
Manfu wore a frustrated expression. He’d made it on stage during the tournament but hadn’t lasted even one move before being defeated. He’d held back some trump cards, and now he regretted it.
Hearing Chen Fei’s modesty, Manfu chuckled and said,
**”Nah, they’re right. You really did turn the tide back there. We may have lost face this time, but the words you said at the end were right—the only way to win it back is through cultivation.”
Wang Feng jumped in, enthusiastically,
“Your speech back then… word for word, it lit a fire in my chest—even just watching the projection!”
He raised his cup, genuinely moved.
“And that final sword strike—you flattened those evil cultivators like it was nothing! You’re a role model for all of us!”
Manfu echoed the toast,
“Cheers! Let’s drink to that!”
Chen Fei rolled his eyes.
“You guys just want an excuse to drink.”
Still, the flattery worked. He was already getting used to it—and his face was getting thicker by the day.
Then he turned to Gong Tianshou.
“Your sword intent is taking shape. If you stick with it, you’ll make serious progress.”
Gong Tianshou stood up and bowed with determination.
“Thank you for your guidance, Senior Brother Chen!”
Chen Fei waved it off.
“I’m just pointing the way. Whether you walk it or not is up to you.”
“Any new updates lately?” Chen Fei asked.
Gong Tianshou frowned.
“Because of the threat from the evil and demon cultivators, outside information is scarce right now.”
He hesitated, then added,
“There is one thing… Not all core disciples showed up during the Ghost King Token event. Some people aren’t happy about that.”
Chen Fei nodded. He already had a hunch.
Tianqing Holy Land’s younger generation’s true strength wasn’t fully displayed at that event. He could tell just from the Sect Master’s mood—clearly something was being held back.
Plus, among the Four Saintesses, there was still one who had not appeared.
He had asked Miao Yue, who said that the remaining Saintess was in closed-door death seclusion.
But Chen Fei didn’t believe that was the whole story.
The Ghost King Palace might be a huge opportunity, yes—but Tianqing Holy Land had ruled the Xuanhuang Continent for countless years.
How could they not have other secret weapons?
Wang Feng spoke up carefully,
“I do know a bit… but I can’t say much. It has to do with advancing to the Heavenly Dao Realm. It’s not something that can be disturbed.”
Manfu added,
“I’ve seen someone even stronger than our so-called ‘Senior Brother of this generation,’ Duomingzi. Some of these hidden cultivators… they’re not simple.”
He gave Chen Fei a worried look.
“They’re all eyeing the Saint Son position. If they make a move… it won’t be easy to handle.”
Chen Fei understood exactly what he meant, but only smiled.
“When I first entered Tianqing Holy Land, I was just a half-step Dao Realm cultivator.”
He never envied anyone’s fortuitous encounters.
After all, he had the greatest fortune of all—Xu Tian Ding!
With the Xu Tian Cauldron, he was confident he could surpass any so-called genius.
If he could absorb enough soul bones and comprehend multiple Dao Forces within the Ghost King Palace, he’d be able to reach the Earth Dao Realm!
That was the power needed to survive in Xuanhuang Continent.
Manfu blinked, then laughed and raised his cup again.
“Now I really can’t wait to see you face off with them! Hahaha!”
Wang Feng smiled as well.
“I believe in your strength, Junior Brother Chen!”
After a hearty meal, Chen Fei had Gong Tianshou arrange some dishes to go.
Wang Feng, knowing exactly what was waiting back at Shaocui Peak, excused himself immediately, not giving Chen Fei any chance to convince him to stay.
Manfu also claimed he had “something urgent,” and disappeared in a flash.
“You guys just wanted free wine!” Chen Fei muttered, realizing he’d been tricked.
But there was no one left to argue with—both had vanished.
Left with no choice, Chen Fei returned to Shaocui Peak alone.
Standing at the gate, he psyched himself up.
“This is my home!” he reminded himself, then took a deep breath and pushed the gate open.
He’d been mentally prepared for a courtyard in ruins.
But what greeted him was… peace. Harmony.
“Junior Brother Chen, you’re back?” came a sweet voice from the seductive Ziyang Saintess.
“Husband, you’re finally back!” Miao Yue called out, beaming with joy.
“Back?” Cold Moon asked coolly—but the fact she even spoke showed a massive shift in attitude.
Chen Fei blinked.
What the hell?
Not only was the courtyard still intact, but the three women… were actually getting along?
For now.
