Chapter 365 The Enchantress
by SurroundedbyBooksDuo Mingzi’s expression darkened as he swept a cold glance at Xu Tianxin.
Useless fool!
If not for him, Chen Fei wouldn’t have had the opportunity to expose everything so directly!
The surrounding crowd all turned their attention to Duo Mingzi in unison.
Knowing he could no longer hide in the shadows, Duo Mingzi suppressed his growing fury and stepped calmly out from the long pavilion.
“I’ve heard the Ancestor accepted a personal disciple,”
Duo Mingzi said casually, maintaining the dignified demeanor of Tianqing Holy Land’s senior brother.
“At the time, you were only half-step into the Xuan Realm, and many of us found it… puzzling.”
“But now it all makes sense. The Ancestor’s insight is indeed peerless. Chen-shidi, your talent is truly admirable.”
His words were polite, his tone gentle, as if he were an elder offering guidance.
Barbarian Brother already knew how Duo Mingzi operated. He glanced at Chen Fei with a hint of concern. No matter how you looked at it, Duo Mingzi was trying to position himself as a senior — if Chen Fei reacted angrily, it would be seen as disrespect, and he’d fall into Duo Mingzi’s trap.
Chen Fei said nothing, silently watching Duo Mingzi.
Duo Mingzi squinted in return, and just then — a sudden laugh echoed through the air.
“Why not just accept the challenge, Brother Duo? I haven’t had enough excitement yet.”
The voice came from a large tree ahead. Where moments before there had been nothing, a child-sized figure now sat, straw hat tilted low over his face.
The atmosphere lightened slightly at the child’s playful tone.
Duo Mingzi glanced at the boy, frowned, and then turned his gaze back to Chen Fei.
“No need to rush. The Ghost King Order tournament is just around the corner. I look forward to crossing swords with you then.”
“Looking forward to it,”
Chen Fei replied calmly.
Duo Mingzi squinted once more before turning to leave.
Xu Tianqin pushed through the crowd and rushed to Xu Tianxin’s side.
“Brother! Are you okay?”
He smiled and shook his head, gently patting her on the head.
She instinctively dodged, and he laughed even more. Watching Duo Mingzi’s retreating figure, he murmured:
“With today’s duel, I’ve repaid the favor.”
At those words, Duo Mingzi’s footsteps visibly faltered — but he quickly resumed walking as if nothing had happened.
Xu Tianqin turned to Chen Fei, looking conflicted.
“Thank you for holding back, Senior Brother Chen.”
Chen Fei simply nodded and turned to leave.
With Duo Mingzi’s words still lingering, the crowd dispersed slowly — now all eagerly anticipating the upcoming Ghost King Order tournament.
On the road back, the child in the straw hat reappeared.
“I’m really looking forward to your performance in the tournament,”
he said, legs swinging as he sat casually.
“And I’m curious,”
Chen Fei replied with a smile,
“will you still be that confident when you enter the stage?”
The child paused, then laughed mischievously.
“No wonder Barbarian Brother likes you — we’re of the same mind. Just wait and see!”
With a gust of wind, the child vanished without a trace.
Chen Fei’s pupils contracted. The power that strange boy had just revealed… was no joke.
Barbarian Brother walked over and patted his shoulder.
“Looks like that drink we planned will have to wait. I’ll find you next time!”
Then he jerked his chin toward the front.
Chen Fei followed his gaze.
A figure in bewitching purple robes walked slowly toward him.
“They say time changes a man. Chen Fei-shidi, your growth is truly impressive,”
Saintess Ziyang said with a charming smile.
Chen Fei narrowed his eyes. As she approached, his internal guard rose.
Everything about Ziyang — her movements, her voice, her beauty — was dangerously alluring.
A deadly rose.
“What brings you here, Senior Sister Ziyang?”
Chen Fei asked with practiced politeness.
Ziyang laughed softly and raised a delicate hand, trailing a finger across her lips. With a flicker, she appeared beside him, releasing a soft fragrance as she leaned in.
Her arm draped loosely around his shoulder, and the curves of her body pressed brazenly against his back. She leaned toward his ear and whispered:
“Why so cold to me, little brother? Did I make you angry?”
Even Chen Fei felt his body tense up.
This vixen…!
Just as things became unbearable, salvation arrived.
“Ziyang! You shameless woman — what are you doing?!”
A frosty voice rang out — Miao Yue.
Ziyang didn’t even blink, grinning as she looked at Miao Yue.
“What’s wrong? Jealous?”
Miao Yue didn’t answer. Instead, she swept her energy straight toward Ziyang’s face.
Ziyang raised her hand slowly, her sleeve brushing against Chen Fei’s cheek as she dispelled the attack effortlessly.
“Tsk tsk, Miao Yue-shimei, you haven’t changed at all! So fierce — be careful, or no one will want to marry you.”
She glanced back at Chen Fei.
“Witch! Get away from him!”
Miao Yue snapped and charged forward in a fury.
Ziyang pressed both hands onto Chen Fei’s shoulders.
“You heartless little thing — you won’t even help me? I’m so sad!”
She laughed gleefully, drifting backward with no resistance, light as a feather.
Miao Yue’s gaze could’ve cut through steel. Her anger burned bright.
“I’m only doing this for your own good, Miao Yue,”
Ziyang said playfully.
Miao Yue answered with a flash of her sword.
It shredded Ziyang’s outer robe — but the woman herself had already vanished.
“Ugh! That wench!”
Miao Yue stomped in frustration, then turned to glare at Chen Fei. Her tone softened, almost a pout:
“Idiot!”
Chen Fei rubbed his nose helplessly and shrugged.
“She’s still a Saintess, after all. With Duo Mingzi already targeting me, provoking her won’t help.”
Miao Yue’s expression shifted.
“The Senior Brother? He’s got his eye on you?”
Her concern was clear.
Chen Fei chuckled.
Even though Duo Mingzi liked to act all righteous and mighty, it was obvious to everyone what he truly was.
If he knew we all saw through him, he’d probably cough up blood.
“What? You think I’m not up to it?”
Chen Fei teased. He pulled out a small bottle.
“This is top-grade Great Return Elixir. I refined two batches while saving Barbarian Brother last time. With disaster approaching, better keep this on hand.”
Miao Yue blinked in shock.
“You—you refined this?”
“What else? I still owe the sect 500,000 merit points… well, 400,000 now.”
The more nonchalant Chen Fei sounded, the more shaken Miao Yue became.
She couldn’t help but wonder:
What the hell happened while I was gone from Tianqing Holy Land?
