Chapter 337 Dao ManifestationEarth Dao Realm
by SurroundedbyBooksAmu stared at Chen Fei, her expression unreadable. But suddenly—
She smiled.
“Heh, I was just worrying about how to smoke out you little rats… who would’ve thought you’d come right to my door?”
Chen Fei raised an eyebrow and quickly backed away.
The skull in his hand exploded with a loud crack, and the green soul flame erupted outward, engulfing the space before him.
At the same time, the Boundless Formation high above shattered with a resounding boom.
Brute stepped beside Chen Fei, squinting as he spat to the ground.
“Looks like they’re playing for real now.”
Chen Fei grinned without saying anything.
Amu respectfully lifted her head and spoke toward the void:
“We welcome the arrival of Saint Ancestor Qu’a!”
A massive figure materialized in midair—
A snake-bodied, human-headed deity, its upper body holding a long spear, slowly floating toward them.
“Dao Manifestation…”
“Earth Dao Realm!”
Chen Fei and Brute shouted in unison, exchanging glances filled with alarm.
Amu smirked coldly when she saw their reaction.
“Afraid now, are you? Too late. Hand over Holy Maiden A-Yue, or else… heh.”
With a true Earth Dao powerhouse making an appearance, Amu’s attitude turned domineering.
Chen Fei looked at the massive serpent-headed figure slowly approaching.
The sheer oppressive force it radiated crashed onto his shoulders.
His mind raced.
If he used all his strength, he might still have a shot against someone in the Human Dao Realm.
But an Earth Dao cultivator, especially one who had condensed a Dao Manifestation, was simply impossible to win against.
Brute’s sword circled once and returned to rest at his chest.
Staring at the overwhelming figure, his expression grew grim.
“Junior Brother… we’ve got trouble,” he muttered.
Chen Fei glanced at him.
In his impression, Brute was the type who feared nothing—
Reckless, bold, and always charging headlong into danger.
But now…
Brute’s expression was heavy. His voice, though light-hearted, carried real weight.
“So this is the famed Heavenly Apex Holy Land,” came a deep, androgynous voice from Qu’a’s manifestation.
“Even in this situation, your disciples still manage to kill my cult’s elites…”
The golden eyes of the massive serpent-human glinted with amusement.
“But I’ll give you a chance. Hand over Holy Maiden A-Yue and swear loyalty to my cult. What do you say?”
Brute grinned and turned to Chen Fei.
“Looks like you really did catch someone important.”
“Just lucky,” Chen Fei shrugged.
“Well, disciples from major sects always seem to have decent luck,” Brute said with mock seriousness.
Even under the threat of death, the two chatted casually, as if out for a stroll.
This baffled and infuriated Amu and the other cultists.
And Qu’a Saint Ancestor?
Even more enraged.
“Insolent fools!”
With a growl, immense pressure radiated from the Dao Manifestation, aiming to crush their spirits.
Brute coughed blood and swayed, but his eyes only grew sharper.
Chen Fei’s body trembled, the sound of bones grinding echoing inside him.
Every joint, every rib—it all felt like it was about to shatter.
But still, he stood tall, staring straight at the Dao Manifestation.
It looked more like a challenge than desperation.
To be mocked like this by mortals—Qu’a’s fury was unimaginable.
“Junior Brother, got any wine?” Brute suddenly asked.
“Only you would still think of drinking at a time like this…” Chen Fei laughed and tossed him a gourd of Tianli Wine.
Even that small motion was hard to execute under the overwhelming pressure.
But Brute caught the wine without issue.
Uncorking it, he took a deep swig.
The spicy liquor, mixed with the taste of blood, turned his face a deep red.
“Junior Brother… ever seen someone use a sword to cut down an Earth Dao expert?” Brute asked casually.
Chen Fei blinked, confused.
“No, never.”
The serpent-headed figure chuckled darkly.
“The arrogance of the Heavenly Apex Holy Land! Using a sword to slay an Earth Dao cultivator? Better pray the wind doesn’t rip your tongues out!”
With a sneer, Qu’a flicked their spear, condensing an even greater force that locked onto the two of them.
The pressure exploded.
Chen Fei could even hear his own heartbeat and blood rushing through his body.
And that—was not a good sign.
“To think the great Heavenly Apex sect would produce such delusional disciples! A sign of fate—my holy cult shall rise, and your sect will fall!”
“The gap between the Human and Earth Dao is as vast as the heavens themselves! And these two mere low-level cultivators dare speak such madness?”
More cultists arrived on the scene, mocking the duo relentlessly.
Only Amu still focused on Holy Maiden A-Yue.
She respectfully turned to the Dao Manifestation:
“Saint Ancestor, please… you must rescue the Holy Maiden!”
Qu’a turned and gave her a cold glance.
Just that—
and Amu collapsed to her knees, trembling violently.
Brute paid her no mind.
He still cradled his sword and took another swig.
“Junior Brother, you’re really my kind of guy,” he chuckled.
“Let me show you a little trick I’ve been saving.”
With that, Brute took a single step forward.
Just one step—
But the aura within him began surging madly.
Qu’a narrowed their golden eyes.
“So you were hiding your strength… No wonder you dared boast.”
“The Forbidden Qi Sealing Technique… effective, but flawed. You’ve cultivated your Qi for years, and now you’ll burn it all in one moment. Are you really willing to pay that price?” Qu’a mocked.
“To kill you?” Brute smirked. “Sure, it’s worth it.”
That sentence made Qu’a’s expression darken.
“Arrogant!”
Brute ignored the insult.
His cultivation level continued to climb rapidly, finally peaking at the mid-stage Human Dao Realm.
But at that point—
his momentum faltered.
“Ugh… thirty years of cultivation, and still can’t break through in one burst…” Brute sighed, slightly disappointed.
“But to cut down an Earth Dao with the sword—this is enough.”
Chen Fei glanced at him in surprise.
“Forbidden Qi Sealing?”
“Yep. Damn thing’s suffocating. Master said I was too reckless, too impatient, so he made me seal my own heart and will.”
Brute pouted slightly, clearly not fond of his teacher’s reasoning.
But he hadn’t resisted it either.
Breaking this self-imposed seal—while risky—might actually be a blessing in disguise.
Qu’a’s contempt deepened.
“Human Dao Realm? That’s all? Hah. Then you have no chance!”
Despite her derision, she’d felt a faint twinge of unease earlier.
Now, upon sensing his cultivation clearly, her confidence soared again.
Just a Human Dao cultivator.
What could he possibly do?
Brute’s breakthrough halted at mid-stage Human Dao Realm, just shy of the advanced stage.
But he nodded with satisfaction.
“Yeah… this will do.”
The manifestation’s brows furrowed slightly.
“Enough of this. Hand over Holy Maiden A-Yue. I might spare your corpses. Otherwise—you’ll both die, body and soul!”
