Chapter 233: The Might of “Not Craft”
by SurroundedbyBooksChen Fei was slightly surprised and gave Wang Zhen a glance.
He had to admit, this guy was starting to grow on him more and more.
“What a pity.” Chen Fei shook his head. By this time, Wang Zhen and the others had already activated their formation.
“We, the Seven Freaks of Lingnan, didn’t earn our name on the Xuanhuang Continent just for any cat or dog to ridicule us!” With a wave of his hand, seven streaks of blue light burst from their bodies, linking together in a glowing network.
“Let’s see what you’ve got! Kill!” Wang Zhen roared and charged forward with a long saber in hand.
Chen Fei casually picked up his massive, unsharpened sword and held it in front of him. With a calm motion, he blocked Wang Zhen’s strike.
Wang Zhen’s expression changed dramatically. A powerful rebound force shot up through his hands, shocking him—and more horrifying, a visible chip appeared on his treasured weapon!
That saber was practically his life!
“You bastard! You dare damage my baby?! You’re dead!” Wang Zhen roared in fury. This job was going to be a loss—repairing a magical weapon wasn’t cheap! He wondered whether this guy could even afford the cost of repairs!
Seeing Wang Zhen this furious, the rest of the Seven Freaks of Lingnan didn’t dare hesitate. They pulled out their own magical weapons and surrounded Chen Fei.
But facing the rain of attacks, Chen Fei moved as if walking through a peaceful garden—wielding his massive sword with casual ease, effortlessly deflecting the flurry of strikes. It was as if none of it could touch him.
“There’s something weird about him! Change formation!” Wang Zhen gritted his teeth.
They had clearly run into a tough opponent today and had to bring out other tricks.
Hearing the command, the others quickly shifted positions, and a strange aura surged toward Chen Fei.
“Oh?” Chen Fei raised an eyebrow. Such dense yin-fiend energy!
A lesser cultivator might have been affected by it—slowing their movements and disrupting their attacks.
But for Chen Fei? It was all nourishment.
Before the Void Heaven Cauldron, any strange energy would be refined into pure spiritual power to replenish him.
“This is kind of interesting… but I’m done playing around.” Chen Fei shifted the massive sword across his body.
Back when he broke through last time, it wasn’t just the evolution of the myriad path technique—the Void Heaven Cauldron had also passed down to him a top-tier Earth-grade sword art:
“Not Craft Sword Technique” (不工劍法)!
As the saying goes: Great sound has no echo, great skill appears clumsy.
This sword technique was a perfect match for his unsharpened greatsword—every strike looked plain, but brought out its full potential.
This was Chen Fei’s first time using it. He was genuinely curious about how powerful it could be.
Wang Zhen, of course, had no idea. With a raised blade, he glared at Chen Fei. “You’ve surprised me, but this ends now!”
The seven beams of blue light suddenly surged into blinding brilliance, and immense power flooded into Wang Zhen.
His long saber trembled, cloaked in faint blue light that seemed to slice space itself!
Wang Zhen, originally at the early Yuan realm, instantly rose to mid-Yuan realm strength!
A formation that could push someone beyond their limits like this was truly rare.
“Cross-Blade Wave Breaker! DIE!” Wang Zhen’s face turned red, unable to hold on much longer under the overwhelming force. He slashed out, ripping space apart with terrifying blade energy aimed at Chen Fei.
Chen Fei remained calm as the blade light closed in.
“Cut Space.”
He flicked his wrist, and the heavy unsharpened sword bounced upward, hitting the incoming attack with uncanny precision!
There was no visible power behind the move. And yet, the fearsome strike—powered by everything Wang Zhen had—shattered instantly upon contact, without resistance!
Chen Fei blinked, slightly surprised as he looked at the sword in his hand.
With his Thousand Tempering Art, he could have defended easily anyway. But with Not Craft Sword Technique, just a touch of technique had completely neutralized Wang Zhen’s move.
“No wonder it’s Earth-grade. It’s not just about force—it’s about finesse, and the art of redirection. Fascinating!” he mused. Not surprising, really. The Void Heaven Cauldron wouldn’t pass on anything subpar.
More importantly, this sword technique represented a deep insight into the Dao of the Sword. If he mastered it, perhaps he was not far from forming a Sword Dao Mark.
But shattering the blade strike was only the beginning.
The energy stored within the massive sword surged outward like a flood, crashing toward Wang Zhen’s saber.
Crack!
“Puh!”
Wang Zhen coughed up a mouthful of blood, horrified. His saber had exploded into fragments, and his arm hung limp—every bone inside crushed.
“You… what kind of monster are you?” Wang Zhen’s gaze was full of fear.
The shockwave had paralyzed him. He couldn’t even feel his Dao energy anymore.
Which meant one thing—his cultivation had been crippled by a single strike!
And it wasn’t just him. The rest of the Seven Freaks of Lingnan were in the same state!
The formation that linked them also distributed the damage. But the problem was—Chen Fei’s attack was just too overpowering. They simply couldn’t endure it!
One of them had it the worst—his body burst into a bloody mist, now looking like some wretched ghost crawling out from the depths of hell.
Chen Fei looked disappointed.
He had hoped these guys could at least serve as a proper test for his sword art. But they crumbled on first contact… too weak!
“Well then—hand over your valuables. Oh, and by the way… this is a robbery.” He smirked at Wang Zhen.
Chen Fei actually admired Wang Zhen’s “spirit,” but unfortunately, he wasn’t the one being robbed—it was Chen Fei doing the robbing. And these fools had delivered themselves right to his doorstep.
“Oh right, I guess you guys can’t move now.” He belatedly added. Then, with a casual swing of his sword, the Seven Freaks of Lingnan were wiped out for good.
Chen Fei checked the loot. Not bad—Wang Zhen and his group had clearly robbed quite a few others. The haul was dazzling, to say the least.
Still, despite the quantity, there wasn’t much that truly helped Chen Fei improve.
He swept everything into his storage ring and turned to look deeper into the mist.
Now that he was deeper inside, the bloodline summoning he’d been feeling grew stronger than ever. He put away his sword and turned to deal with the corpses.
But before he could move, the ground suddenly came alive.
Under Chen Fei’s gaze, the bodies of Wang Zhen and the others slowly sank into the earth—and all signs of the battle vanished, like nothing had ever happened.
Seeing this, Chen Fei’s pupils contracted sharply.
This place… could it be alive?
