Chapter 225: It’s Really Me
by SurroundedbyBooksCold Moon’s heart was filled with grief and fury, and her attacks became increasingly fierce.
It was at that very moment that she suddenly sensed something and instinctively swung her sword backward.
Chen Fei’s figure appeared out of thin air. His giant sword, Wufeng, came crashing down like Mount Tai, deflecting the Silver Moon Sword in Cold Moon’s hand. Around his body, numerous curse marks flickered—marks that originated from the Evil God’s Finger.
Those runes abruptly emitted a blood-red light, freezing Cold Moon in place.
Chen Fei couldn’t afford to waste a single breath. Though the curse marks could restrain her briefly, it would only last for the time of a single breath. If he didn’t explain himself now, he really might be mercilessly cut down by Cold Moon!
He leapt forward and embraced the Saintess tightly in his arms.
“Let go of me!” Cold Moon’s face changed drastically. Ever since she could remember, no man had ever touched her like this. She raised her head in shock and stared at Chen Fei.
Chen Fei spoke hurriedly and helplessly, “Senior Sister Cold Moon, it’s me! I haven’t been influenced by the Evil God’s Finger! If you don’t believe me, look!”
He immediately stopped channeling the evil rune, and the sinister aura vanished, revealing his original form.
“You…” Cold Moon looked at him with suspicion. If he were truly corrupted by evil, there was no way his aura could disappear so completely. Even if he were cunning, her Ice Heart Eyes would have sensed it.
Yet now, there was indeed not the slightest trace of evil energy on Chen Fei—just like a normal person.
“Senior Sister, I have a unique method that allows me to simulate and control the power of the Evil God’s Finger! It was only a simulation. My mind has never been affected! If you still don’t believe me, you can check my divine sense!” Chen Fei said earnestly.
Checking someone’s divine sense was akin to standing naked in front of them.
In fact, even more intimate than that—because divine sense revealed every hidden secret, every filthy thought. It was the ultimate gesture of sincerity.
A cold glint flashed through Cold Moon’s eyes, and the chill in her gaze made Chen Fei shiver.
Fortunately, she quickly looked away. Then her face flushed red, and she struggled to break free. “L-Let me go…”
Only then did Chen Fei realize that in the heat of battle, he had impulsively grabbed Cold Moon.
Worse yet, his current state was almost completely naked!
When he broke through earlier, the Xutian Cauldron shook and expelled a stinky, oily black sludge from his body. When he activated the evil rune, the energy waves shattered the sludge—and his clothes along with it!
And with Cold Moon’s sudden ambush, the already tattered clothes disintegrated entirely, leaving just a few strands here and there.
Some sensitive areas were now pressing tightly against Cold Moon’s—
Back then, all his attention had been on controlling the evil aura, so he hadn’t noticed. But now that things had calmed down… the awkwardness was unbearable.
Cold Moon was even more flustered. The burning heat pressed against her rear made her furious and panicked. Chen Fei’s warmth enveloped her, throwing her heart into disarray.
“S-Senior Sister, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to!” Chen Fei quickly let go and turned around.
But even so, Cold Moon’s face was as red as fire. “I’ll be leaving first!”
With those words, she turned into a streak of white light and vanished.
Chen Fei scratched his head awkwardly. He hadn’t meant for things to go that way—it had all just happened too fast during battle!
He quickly changed into fresh clothes, slung the Wufeng sword across his back, and made his way back to Qinling.
When he returned, the looks everyone gave him were as if a deity had descended from the heavens. Especially the scene of him charging at the blood cloud with his massive sword—that image would be etched into their minds forever.
Chen Fei originally intended to go see Cold Moon again and explain, but… sometimes the more you explain, the messier it gets. So, he decided to let it go.
“The Blood Cloud Sect came mainly for me. Now that Wang Fang and their higher-ups have been decimated, they probably won’t act again for a while,” Chen Fei said with a smile to Guan Tong, then turned to Qin Heng. “Brother Qin, all of you should train well. The evil cultivators’ chaos isn’t over yet—we’ll still need your strength!”
“Understood!” Guan Tong nodded, admiration and emotion in his eyes.
He hadn’t been apart from Chen Fei for long, yet the boy had already grown so powerful—it was astonishing.
Qin Heng nodded with a bitter smile. “Chen Fei, your strength is growing faster than I imagined. I, as your older brother, can’t afford to fall too far behind.”
Though he said that, he knew well in his heart—they were no longer in the same league.
Chen Fei had intended to visit some old friends from Yellow Mist City. But during the city’s fall, his caravan had been away on business. Only one person close to him, Li Zhong, had been captured by black-clothed men.
As for the Su family of Yellow Mist City, Chen Fei felt it was better not to meet them right now.
In a dim room elsewhere, Cold Moon still couldn’t calm down. Every time she closed her eyes, she recalled that searing heat and… that thing pressing against her. She couldn’t sit still!
“That bastard!” A trace of embarrassment and fury flickered through her eyes.
Just then, Chen Fei’s voice came from outside, startling her.
“Senior Sister Cold Moon, I’m heading to Yellow Mist City. Are you staying here, or will you come with me?” he asked gently.
Her first instinct was to refuse—but she took a deep breath and got out of bed.
Opening the door, she found Chen Fei waiting.
He was surprised. Cold Moon said with a straight face, “I’m going with you. If the evil aura within you erupts, I’ll be there to suppress it!”
Chen Fei looked her over and sighed inwardly. It seemed the Evil Rune couldn’t be used carelessly—he might attract trouble.
But thinking from another angle, if he used it to infiltrate the ranks of evil cultivators… that might actually be useful!
With chaos spreading and ancient monsters appearing, this power could very well save his life.
“Thank you for your concern, Senior Sister.” Chen Fei clasped his hands respectfully, and the two of them set off toward Yellow Mist City together.
Chen Fei’s goal this time: the Fengluo Temple.
Perhaps Li Zhong had left behind a clue—something that could help trace who had taken him.
Though the exact situation was unclear, Chen Fei knew: someone had taken Li Zhong for a reason—likely tied to his own origins.
“Li Zhong, you said once I reached the Dao Realm, you’d tell me the truth about my past. Well, I’ve reached it now. When we meet again, you’ll definitely be shocked!” A smile tugged at Chen Fei’s lips.
Cold Moon had been stealing glances at him the whole way.
Noticing it, Chen Fei turned his head. Cold Moon quickly looked away and asked in a cold tone, “You really have full control over the evil aura?”
Chen Fei didn’t overthink it and smiled bitterly. “How could I dare lie to you, Senior Sister? I really have control over it!”
Cold Moon nodded slightly.
Just ahead, a dilapidated temple finally came into view.
“Hm? Something’s off,” Cold Moon said, her steps halting. Her eyes sharpened in alert.
Chen Fei’s enhanced spiritual vision picked up on it too. There was something very strange about Fengluo Temple… and a sense of shock stirred in his heart.
