Chapter 216: Accompanied by a Beauty
by SurroundedbyBooksChen Fei, who had been sitting cross-legged in front of the stone tablet, appeared as still as a statue.
After an entire night had passed, his eyes finally glimmered with light as he stood up from the ground.
Without hesitation, he grasped the giant Wufeng Sword, a proud expression flickering across his face. As the blade trembled, characters began to etch themselves onto the stone tablet in one smooth motion.
The entire process was seamless.
Retracting the Wufeng Sword, Chen Fei looked at the stone tablet once more. This time, the surface began to tremble, followed by a dazzling display of rainbow-colored light. The inscriptions didn’t vanish but became shrouded in a misty fog, making them difficult to discern.
Chen Fei stared at it, a satisfied smile appearing on his lips.
“For those with fate, let them comprehend it!” he said, waving his hand lightly. The fog dispersed, revealing a tablet filled with obscure script—nearly incomprehensible at first glance.
Only those like Chen Fei, who had gained insight during their time in the Stele Forest, might be able to understand and inherit the Thousand Illusion Slash technique etched onto the tablet.
As for when that might happen—well, that depended on fate.
“Many thanks, Senior Brother Yan Yuan,” Chen Fei bowed respectfully.
Though Yan Yuan did not step out of his room, his warm voice came clearly through:
“Junior Brother Chen, your talent is exceptional to comprehend the true intent so quickly. If there’s nothing else, go ahead and leave.”
Strapping the Wufeng Sword to his back, Chen Fei stepped out of the Heavenly Academy.
The sun still shone brightly over the Heavenly Academy, and Chen Fei felt his mood lift the moment he stepped out.
The silence within the academy had brought with it an invisible pressure. Now, having left, he felt his mind clear.
“Heavenly Academy…” Chen Fei looked back thoughtfully.
If he hadn’t come here, he might never have grasped the true meaning behind his cultivation. Dean Li’s punishment had clearly been a carefully chosen opportunity for growth.
With everything prepared, Chen Fei was ready to descend the mountain.
However, as he stepped beyond the perimeter of the academy, he spotted a familiar figure.
Startled for a moment, he quickly recovered and greeted her, “Greetings, Sect Master!”
“You’ve made your decision?” Mu Yunsu asked softly.
Chen Fei nodded firmly. “Yes, I have.”
“I’ve already investigated. Last time in the Xianle Secret Realm, you humiliated Wang Fang. This time, if you leave the mountain, he will surely come for you. Are you not afraid?” Mu Yunsu asked.
“Afraid?” Chen Fei scoffed. “If I were afraid of everything, why bother cultivating at all? I might as well live a quiet life somewhere.”
Mu Yunsu gave a slight nod. “Good. Since you’ve decided to leave, I have a mission for you.”
Chen Fei looked at her in surprise.
Unfazed by his reaction, Mu Yunsu said seriously,
“I received news that a secret realm may soon open in Tianzhang Mountain. Only those at the Yuan Realm level may enter. There’s something inside—something that must not fall into the hands of the demonic cultivators, even if it must be destroyed.”
“Yuan Realm?” Chen Fei blinked, surprised.
Mu Yunsu glanced at him. “Your methods of concealing your strength might work against those below the Human Dao Realm, but at your current cultivation speed, entering the Yuan Realm shouldn’t be too difficult.”
Exposed so directly, Chen Fei could only laugh sheepishly.
“So, this is an official sect mission?” he asked.
His contribution points had run dry—if ever there was a time to argue for more, it was now.
“It is,” Mu Yunsu nodded. “If you manage to bring back the Blood Fiend Formation from the mountain, the sect will reward you with 100,000 contribution points.”
“Deal!” Chen Fei agreed without hesitation.
Even if he had to destroy it, the mere fact that it was worth 100,000 points meant Chen Fei would never let it be destroyed easily.
Mu Yunsu’s lips curled slightly into a smile.
“These days, the demonic cultivators are rampant. Don’t let your guard down. Here—take this Shifting Talisman. It might just save your life at a critical moment.”
Chen Fei’s eyes lit up as he hurriedly accepted the talisman.
“Spiritual treasures are valuable, but don’t be greedy. If you’re truly in danger, survival comes first. Don’t try to act recklessly,” Mu Yunsu reminded.
Chen Fei quickly nodded. “Understood, Master!”
Mu Yunsu said no more and turned to leave.
With everything in place, Chen Fei finally left the Sacred Land of Tianqing alone.
But just as he departed, Wang Feng received word of the recent events. The matter had implicated many, leading to the dismissal and punishment of several elders and even affecting numerous families.
After reporting it to Elder Li Hong, Wang Feng’s first move was to seek out Chen Fei.
“What? Junior Brother Chen has already left Tianqing Sacred Land?” Wang Feng was shocked.
He had come to persuade Chen Fei to lay low and enter secluded cultivation for a while. So many people had been dragged into the mess—many of them now hated Chen Fei to the core.
Inside the Sacred Land, they had no way of getting to him.
But now that he’d left, Chen Fei was truly in danger!
“When did he leave?” Wang Feng’s expression changed drastically as he questioned the nearby disciple.
“He left yesterday morning. He’s probably already out of the Sacred Land by now!”
Wang Feng took a deep breath.
“Junior Brother Chen, you… sigh!”
Knowing he couldn’t stop Chen Fei anymore, Wang Feng could only sigh helplessly.
Perhaps this was just fate.
In truth, Chen Fei had indeed left the Sacred Land.
But soon after, he was blocked by a figure.
Dressed in white, her aura was cold and distant—who else could it be but the Cold Moon Saintess?
“Senior Sister Leng Yue?” Chen Fei blinked in confusion.
She glanced at him before looking away. “I’m heading to the Great Li Dynasty. It’s on your route as well. Let’s go together.”
Chen Fei was a bit surprised.
Scratching his head, he responded, “The Great Li Dynasty, huh? Well, I suppose it is on the way.”
Leng Yue didn’t respond and simply walked ahead.
Chen Fei could only follow behind, resigned.
He could tell she was being stubbornly reserved, but given her kind intentions, he couldn’t really refuse.
“Senior Sister Leng Yue, that ancient secret realm you mentioned before—what exactly is that place?” Chen Fei suddenly recalled the mysterious cold light that the Void Heaven Cauldron had absorbed and asked out of curiosity.
Leng Yue frowned. Chen Fei had now drawn close beside her, making her visibly uncomfortable.
Still, she didn’t dwell on it. “That place isn’t somewhere you can go yet. If you break through to the Yuan Realm, maybe then you’ll have a chance.”
A flicker of anticipation crossed her eyes. “I’m not sure what that stone is called, but it’s very important to me. A secret realm of that level will bring you plenty of benefits too.”
Chen Fei wasn’t entirely satisfied with such a vague answer, but since Leng Yue had always been like this, he couldn’t do much about it.
Fortunately, he wasn’t one to dwell on it.
Now that he had left the Sacred Land, Chen Fei’s first priority—was to track down Li Zhong’s whereabouts!
