Chapter 122: Fox Borrowing Tiger’s Might
by Felipe Ferreira“Gaga, ignorant junior, speaking wildly, seeking quick death… gah!” The yellow-haired old monster’s words stopped abruptly, his eyes bulging larger than eggs. The other two monsters also widened their eyes, held their breath, and stared fixedly at the token in Yue Qianchou’s hand. The smiles and arrogance on their faces instantly vanished without a trace.
The dark token had nothing superfluous on it. The reverse side had the character “Order” held in Yue Qianchou’s palm, while the front was carved with a pair of deep eyes. Looking at it carefully for just a moment, one would discover a strange quality that made it difficult for one’s gaze to break away, with attention deeply trapped within.
The three monsters shook their heads, barely managing to shift their attention away from the token. They didn’t dare look again, their faces all turning pale in an instant. The seductive woman said in a trembling voice: “Ghost… King… Order!”
Yue Qianchou’s face was as still as dead water. He slowly put away the token, then suddenly an aura burst forth from within his body, pressing down on the three trembling figures. This kind of aura was unique to those in positions of power who had long controlled the life and death of others – it couldn’t be faked. The three no longer dared doubt that he was talking nonsense, casually using Demon Kings and Ghost Kings as shields. They all unconsciously stepped back.
The seductive woman’s lips moved, wanting to say something. As soon as she raised her head, she saw a pair of cold, merciless eyes looking at her as if she were an ant, as if he could crush her at any moment. They were the same as the eyes on the Ghost King Order – indifferent to everything! This scared her into lowering her head again, her body trembling even more. The three monsters secretly wished they could slap themselves hard. Knowing they couldn’t see through his cultivation, why weren’t they more cautious? They should have thought – if he didn’t have some ability, would he dare wander around the Demon Ghost Domain like this?
Kou Xuehua and the others watched in stunned amazement. Just moments ago, these people had been extremely arrogant, saying they wanted to eat their flesh. Now how were they like mice seeing a cat, actually scared into this state by Yue Qianchou, not even daring to raise their heads? They hadn’t seen the token Yue Qianchou held in his palm from behind, nor had they clearly heard what the seductive woman had stammered. They only saw Yue Qianchou push with his hand, and the three monsters became like this. They could only guess he was holding something that had frightened the three monsters.
The swords in the hands of the three women slowly lowered. They had originally worshipped Yue Qianchou blindly, and along the way had never had a chance to see him show his power. They hadn’t expected that when he really displayed his might, even demons that Kou Xuehua was afraid she couldn’t handle would be scared into this state by him. Looking again at Yue Qianchou’s back, it was as towering as a high mountain, as unfathomable as a deep abyss. It felt so secure. The three women’s eyes sparkled with admiration, full of little stars.
“What? Not eating my flesh anymore?” Yue Qianchou’s voice drifted over like cold air from ten-thousand-year-old ice, with no trace of emotion audible, making the people behind him tense up.
Strangely, the three demons were first shocked by his words, then after exchanging glances with lowered heads, they actually calmed down. Yue Qianchou suddenly saw a trace of fierceness in the three monsters’ eyes, as if they were about to risk everything for some desperate act.
Yue Qianchou’s heart tightened. ‘This is bad. Damn! I’ve overdone the act. The three monsters probably think I won’t spare them and want to take desperate risks.’ His mind raced through several thoughts, then he spoke with a much gentler tone: “Forget it, ignorance is not a crime. Looking at you three, you probably haven’t been deep into the central area of the southern Demon Ghost Domain! I imagine those who have seen my master and me there wouldn’t dare treat me this way in the Demon Ghost Domain. Even if you gave the Demon King and Ghost King here ten thousand times more courage, they wouldn’t dare.”
The three monsters shuddered again, their eyes full of shock. His master was in the central area of the Demon Ghost Domain? That place was indeed said to have one person – someone that the demons and ghosts of the Demon Ghost Domain didn’t even dare mention normally. Most demons and ghosts with low cultivation didn’t even know of his existence. How could he possibly know? That left only one possibility – his master really might be that person. Otherwise, how could the Ghost General’s Ghost King Order possibly be given to an ordinary person? It was just that they’d never heard that person had disciples!
Suddenly the seductive woman bit her lip, curtsied, and deliberately pretended not to understand as she asked: “May I ask which expert your master is? Could you tell us so we can broaden our knowledge?” The other two demons also looked at him expectantly.
‘Damn! Beautiful women in places like this are never simple characters. But no matter how clever you are, you’ll still have to drink my foot-washing water.’ Yue Qianchou glanced at her and sighed leisurely: “Indeed three ignorant little demons. Fine, I’ll tell you my master’s name so you can gain some knowledge and know what kind of person you can’t afford to provoke.”
The three demons respectfully agreed repeatedly.
“My master’s surname is… Bi… shut up!” Yue Qianchou suddenly changed his tone and shouted sternly, as if remembering something. He didn’t forget to turn and sweep his gaze over the people behind him, then turned back with an ice-cold tone: “Is my master’s name something you can casually inquire about?”
The three demons looked at each other. Indeed, the surname was Bi. In this Demon Ghost Domain, there was only one person surnamed Bi qualified to live in the central area – that was Bi Changchun, who intimidated the entire Demon Ghost Domain and had reached the Deity Transformation stage. Coincidentally, Yue Qianchou’s actions appeared to the three as if he didn’t want the people behind him to know who his master was, which was why he told them to shut up. If his master wasn’t transcendent and otherworldly, why would he worry about others knowing his master’s name?
“We were wrong… please don’t be angry, sir… we’ll never dare inquire about your esteemed master’s name again.” The three demons had indeed planned to kill and silence them earlier, but now they reacted by falling to their knees and kowtowing, begging for mercy repeatedly, no longer daring to have any improper thoughts.
What a joke! Anyone who knew of someone like Bi Changchun knew he was famously cold-blooded and ruthless, turning his hand to make clouds and overturning it to make rain. As long as you made him unhappy, there was never any other reasoning – there was only one result: kill without mercy! If Bi Changchun’s disciple really had an accident in this area, which demon or ghost in this region could escape? Wouldn’t they all be casually destroyed by him to accompany his disciple in death?
Kou Xuehua and the others were stunned. At first they thought Yue Qianchou said his master’s surname was Bi, but later realized he was telling them to shut up. They figured he was being mysterious to frighten these three demons. Otherwise, even if he reported Elder Guan’s name, probably few in the Demon Ghost Domain would know it.
Yue Qianchou was delighted inside. Bi Changchun’s reputation was indeed useful in this area. After the three demons had kowtowed enough, he waved his hand indifferently: “Fine, I’m not a petty person. Since I said ignorance is not a crime, you three can put your minds at ease. Get up! Don’t make me unhappy again, or there won’t be a next time.”
The three demons submissively climbed up and stood to one side with hands at their sides, awaiting orders.
“No need to be nervous.” Yue Qianchou patted the yellow-haired old monster’s shoulder, looked around and smiled: “Looking at this spiritual mist, it has a bit of the flavor of the misty Jiangnan region in the mortal world. The scenery is quite unique. Lead us up the mountain to have a look!”
The three demons hurriedly bowed and led the way in front. Then they heard Yue Qianchou muttering quietly behind them: “This place could be worth bringing my master to see if there’s a chance.”
The three demons in front heard clearly and their minds went blank. They all stumbled and nearly collapsed from fright. The three demons exchanged glances and smiled bitterly. ‘My ancestors! You coming here is troublesome enough – please don’t bring your master here too! If your master comes and finds us displeasing in any way, he could casually raise his hand and we wouldn’t know if we’d have a next life.’ But they couldn’t say these words of refusal out loud. Not welcome Bi Changchun? If word got out, would they still want to survive in the Demon Ghost Domain?
