“Hahaha…” Ning Caiwei, who was walking alongside Ouyang Qianxue, couldn’t stop laughing.
“What’s wrong? What’s so funny?” Ouyang Qianxue, beside her, asked in confusion.
“You didn’t see Lin Tianyu’s expression just now. Oh, I can’t, wahaha…” Recalling Lin Tianyu’s livid face earlier, Ning Caiwei burst into laughter again.
“Being robbed was already unfortunate enough for him. Don’t take pleasure in his misfortune.”
“No, no, no, you don’t understand what I’m laughing about at all. But it doesn’t matter. Let’s hurry on to our date!” As she spoke, Ning Caiwei very naturally linked arms with Ouyang Qianxue’s left arm, leaning her head against his shoulder.
“It’s… it’s not a date! We’re just shopping together! And… you’re too close…” Feeling the softness pressing against his arm, Ouyang Qianxue’s face flushed slightly as he spoke.
“What’s the big deal? We’re best friends, aren’t we?” After being admonished by Ouyang Qianxue, Ning Caiwei not only didn’t back off but went even further, affectionately nuzzling her cheek against Ouyang Qianxue’s.
“Ah~ What are you doing?!” Startled by the cheek nuzzle, Ouyang Qianxue immediately jumped to the side like a cat with its fur puffed up.
“I was just testing the softness of your cheeks, that’s all.”
“Don’t try to fool me with such a flimsy excuse!”
“I just wanted to deepen our bond!”
“You don’t have to go that far to do that.”
“Alright, alright, I’ll listen to you. Let’s hurry up and go.” Having said that, Ning Caiwei took Ouyang Qianxue’s hand and pulled him forward.
Meanwhile, Lin Tianyu was still in a state of bewilderment. Not only had he failed to achieve his intended goal of heroically rescuing the beauty, but he was also misunderstood as a coward who hid and didn’t dare make a sound during a robbery. How could he swallow this insult? So, he quickly followed in the direction the two had walked.
Just as the two were coming out of the café, Lin Tianyu spotted them and rushed forward, blocking Ouyang Qianxue’s path.
“Oh, you’re the classmate who was robbed earlier, right? Is something wrong again?” Ouyang Qianxue looked at Lin Tianyu, puzzled.
“I… I was not robbed!” Lin Tianyu panted as he spoke.
“Ah, it’s okay. After all, there were many of them. Being robbed isn’t shameful. Don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone about what happened today.” Ouyang Qianxue said in a comforting tone.
“I already told you I wasn’t robbed!” Having reached his limit, Lin Tianyu placed both hands on Ouyang Qianxue’s shoulders and pushed him against the wall.
(This guy is really strong!) Ouyang Qianxue, pinned by the shoulders, found himself powerless to break free.
“How dare you manhandle a girl?!” Ning Caiwei immediately pointed at Lin Tianyu’s nose and shouted. The surrounding gazes instantly focused on Lin Tianyu.
Feeling the piercing stares, Lin Tianyu snapped back to reality and released Ouyang Qianxue.
“Sorry, I was too impulsive. I just wanted you to understand. I wasn’t robbed earlier. I saw you were in danger and wanted to help you. The wound on my arm was just an accident, I scraped it on some wire on a lamppost in the heat of the moment.” Lin Tianyu lowered his head and explained.
“Who would believe that? You immediately laid hands on Qianxue. With your behavior, you think you can play the hero?” Ning Caiwei said disdainfully from the side.
“I…” Chastised by Ning Caiwei, Lin Tianyu was at a loss for words.
