Chapter 327
by post_apiChapter 327: Rising Up Together
No matter how sturdy Flossie’s external scales might be, her internal organs and flesh remain vulnerable.
The only one capable of attacking this dragon from within was Darkling Stalker, who possessed the skills "Hidden Shadow," "Invisibility," and "Stealth." Though the Class B Ant tribe members also held these three skills, they were currently immobilized, and their Class B stats would likely fail to inflict significant damage even if they entered this Class S dragon’s body.
Moreover, Flossie’s acute senses necessitated assistance from other ants to infiltrate through her mouth. The earlier assaults by Lvzi and Army Lady had been mere distractions—a ploy to divert Flossie’s attention so Darkling Stalker could infiltrate undetected.
…
Returning to the present moment.
Flossie roared in agony as she felt nearly half her organs obliterated instantly, her insides still being shredded by countless invisible blades. The internal assault left no doubt—an ant had invaded her body, one powerful enough to rival the black-haired young girl now flashing through her mind.
Yet Flossie prioritized other matters over her internal foe. While enduring excruciating pain, she activated "Overspeed Regeneration," her ravaged flesh and organs regenerating at a pace that matched Darkling Stalker’s destruction! Simultaneously, she lashed out with her forelimbs toward Purple Cloud and Purple Mist.
Her claws struck true just before the two Flying Ants reached the dragon’s lair. A crimson mist erupted as her talons crushed their bodies, leaving only mangled flesh to plummet from the sky—a grisly confirmation of their demise.
Flossie dismissed the fallen with a glance, refocusing on her internal adversary. But then Red Pupil closed in from behind, morphing into a colossal Iron Armored Ant that lunged skyward. Army Lady and Weak Sound followed, carrying the slower Lvzi and Magic Rainbow as the entire Class A Ant tribe advanced.
"ROAR!!!"
The dragon beat her wings, conjuring a storm of aqueous spikes that showered forward like torrential rain. Anticipating this, Red Pupil shifted to human form while her sisters evaded. Only a handful of spikes grazed her—their impact minimized by "Smooth Body" and defensive skills—while most struck the ground… or rather, the dragon’s own shadow.
Instantly, identical wounds erupted across Flossie’s emerald form, drenching her in crimson. This was Darkling Stalker’s "Shadow Doll" at work—linking the dragon’s body to her shadow, reflecting every injury inflicted upon it.
Blood gushed from the perforated wings, robbing Flossie of flight. As she plummeted earthward, the ants seized their moment:
"Now’s our chance!"
Magic Rainbow called out, and the ant kin echoed in unison.
Red Pupil persisted in assailing the descending Earth Dragon, while Army Lady, Lvzi, and others shifted their assault toward the creature’s shadow.
“Hah~ptui!”
Lvzi parted her roseate lips, expelling a fan-shaped spray of viscous green acid after moments of preparation. The sizzling liquid engulfed a large portion of the shadow.
Army Lady frowned at the substance that was ambiguously between acid and viscous phlegm, her features twisting with unconcealed revulsion. Nevertheless, she swung her blade toward the shadow.
“Flameburst Blade,” “Frostbind Blade,” “Galehowl Blade,” “Razor’s Edge,” “Titanic Cleaver”…
Some skills were honed through relentless combat and training, empowered by her "Sword Talent" and "Ability to Fight." Others manifested after her evolution from consuming Earth Dragon flesh.
Multicolored luminescence enveloped her longsword as skills activated. The blade descended upon the acid-drenched shadow, erupting conflagrations, glacial shards, and tempestuous winds that scattered violently. A tangible resistance vibrated through her grip.
Acid droplets splattered from the strike, searing the blonde warrior’s cheek with a corrosive hiss.
“Nngh…”
The golden-haired girl stifled a pained noise.
As she raised her hand to wipe it, emerald tresses cascaded into her vision. A slick, slurping sensation crawled across her wounded cheek.
“You—you absolute cretin!”
Gooseflesh erupting across her skin, the blonde whirlwind spun to strike the approaching green-haired girl.
“Now now, Army Lady,” Lvzi chided with sudden gravitas, “This battlefield tolerates no antics!”
“Underestimate my acid at your peril. Touch it barehanded, and your fingers will melt.”
Like her comrade, Lvzi had evolved through Earth Dragon consumption, gaining the “Corrosion Attachment” skill. Mirroring “Paralysis Attachment” and “Poison Surcharge,” it infused corrosive properties into limbs, bodily fluids—even enhancing her acid’s potency.
Where once her secretions failed against Jon’s armored scales, now a single breath under “Corrosion Attachment” would reduce the Earth Dragon’s defenses to bubbling sludge.
Army Lady’s fingers brushed her cheek. The acid had already excavated a fleshless crater exposing bone. Agitated nerves pulled her brows taut.
“This reckoning is merely postponed,” she hissed, redirecting her fury toward the shadow.
Meanwhile, Magic Rainbow and Weak Sound maintained their barrage. Arcane projectiles and seismic punches hammered Flossie’s shadow without mercy.
Through Darkling Stalker’s “Shadow Doll” ability, every wound inflicted by the four Class A ant warriors resonated upon Flossie’s true form.
