Chapter 918
by fanqienovelChapter 918: The Golden City
At the top of the giant tree, a green fruit began to form.
It seemed as though a new life was about to emerge from it.
"Grape, activate Hidden Spirit Island and charge straight at it," Xu Fan said with a slight smile.
For now, things were looking a bit better than he had expected.
"Understood!"
In an instant, a massive black shadow appeared over the giant tree.
With a deafening roar, Hidden Spirit Island crashed down onto the giant tree.
A continent slammed into the tree with tremendous force.
Immediately, countless sealing formations appeared on Hidden Spirit Island, beginning to seal the ground below.
However, the seed managed to break through from another spot and transformed into the Earth Wood Golden Immortal once more.
He glanced seriously at Xu Fan in The Power of the Giant City before vanishing into thin air.
In the distance, the Earth Wood Tribe’s army, which had been preparing to cleanse The Power of the Giant City, also began to retreat.
“A Golden Immortal is a Golden Immortal. Even after thousands of years of effort and using every trick in the book, I still couldn’t stop him,” Xu Fan remarked, watching the direction where the Earth Wood Golden Immortal had disappeared.
Meanwhile, the low-level cultivators in the city erupted in cheers as they saw the Earth Wood army retreat.
Xu Fan ignored them and instead appeared in the teleportation formation of The Power of the Giant City, carefully studying the celestial script within the formation.
Three hours later, Xu Fan returned to Hidden Spirit Island outside the giant city.
“Now that the Earth Wood Tribe’s army has retreated, there’s no telling when they’ll return. You should all find your own way to survive.”
“If you wish, you can board my sect’s Star Ship; I’ll take you to Lishui City.”
A massive teleportation portal appeared in the center of The Power of the Giant City, connecting to the small world Grape had temporarily created.
The people, who had just felt like they’d escaped death, suddenly realized what was happening and rushed toward the teleportation portal in a frenzy.
“Doing good deeds while earning some human race merit—not bad, not bad.”
Xu Fan sent the data from the Cross-Boundary Teleportation Formation to Grape’s database, allowing Grape to harness the teleportation energy between the giant cities.
Outside Lishui City, hundreds of thousands of cultivators suddenly appeared, kneeling on the ground and bowing in gratitude toward the direction where Hidden Spirit Island had vanished.
Meanwhile, Hidden Spirit Island was already on its way toward the stars and the moon.
In the Yun Qiu Immortal Domain, Wang Xiangchi stared in surprise at the unfamiliar man before him.
This time, the person possessing him was none other than Xu Fan.
“Master, I’ve missed you so much these years,” Wang Xiangchi said, sounding like a child who had finally returned home.
“I’ve got good news for you—the sect has reached the Immortal Realm, though it’s quite far from here,” the man said with a smile.
“You’ve reached the Immortal Realm? Master, tell me which Immortal Domain and which city!”
“No matter how far it is, I’ll find a way to get there!”
Wang Xiangchi was overwhelmed with joy, and tears began to well up in his eyes.
"Let’s not rush. I’ve decided our sect will settle in the Star Yuexian Domain, but we haven’t picked a specific spot yet."
"It’ll take about forty to fifty years to get there. Once we’ve decided on a place, I’ll let you know."
"I thought I’d get to see Master right away~" Wang Xiangchi said, sounding a bit down.
"Forty to fifty years is just a blink in the grand scheme of things, especially if you’re deep in cultivation," the man said, lifting his left hand gently. A sound stone imbued with the Sword of the Heart appeared in his palm.
"Take this back, listen to it, and dive into your cultivation. Time will fly by," he reassured.
"Thank you, Master~"
Xu Fan’s consciousness snapped back to his true form, feeling Hidden Spirit Island zipping through space. He shook his head, "Good thing I planned ahead; otherwise, moving this fast would’ve made it tough for my consciousness to catch up."
Just then, Xu Fan spotted Zhang Xueling fishing with Xing.
Curious, he wandered over and saw spirit beasts, shaped by the essence of the Dao, swimming in the spiritual liquid lake.
A big Dao-infused fish had just been hooked by Zhang Xueling and was promptly gobbled up by a waiting heart.
"Maybe try fishing somewhere else. These spirit beasts are still young; eating them now isn’t the best idea," Xu Fan suggested from the sidelines.
The Divine Beasts in the lake seemed to have gained a spark of intelligence, likely from the Dao sound during his recent advancement.
It was like mountains and stars gaining sentience and turning into spiritual cultivators.
"My godfather’s in deep thought, and the little snake, little white dragon, and little deer are all meditating too. No one’s around to play with me," Xing said, looking at Xu Fan.
"No worries, I’ll have Grape whip up a game world for you to dive into," Xu Fan said with a grin.
Even as a Quasi-Immortal, he couldn’t quite grasp Xing’s true depth.
He could only sense that this little girl might unleash the power of a Golden Immortal if she really tried.
"Okay, but when my godfather wakes up, you have to pull me out," Xing said, looking up at Xu Fan.
Xu Fan felt the urge to pat her little head but held back.
He had Grape create a small game world for Xing, packed with games that could keep her entertained for centuries.
"Grand Elder, you know I only came here to fish because I had to."
"Grape can vouch for me~" Zhang Xueling quickly said, noticing Xu Fan’s stern look after Xing left.
He didn’t want to be there, but the entire sect, humans and others alike, were all in a deep state of enlightenment from the Dao sound, leaving almost no one to talk to.
In the courtyard, Xu Fan sat with Zhang Xueling and Pang Fu, sipping tea.
"Grand Elder, here’s the plan for when our sect reaches the Star Yuexian Domain."
"We’ll need a million Immortal Jade as a reserve. Is the sect in a good place for that?" Pang Fu asked respectfully after a sip of tea.
"We’ve got a million set aside. If needed, just grab it from the treasury," Xu Fan said, taking the plan jade slip from Pang Fu.
After a quick look, he asked, "Why are these all tools for the Core Formation stage?"
"We’ve got production lines for Quasi-Immortal artifacts and true immortal puppets; why not use those?" Xu Fan inquired.
"We’re worried about drawing attention from major forces. They’re the ones who usually mass-produce celestial tools. As newcomers, it’s best to stay under the radar," Pang Fu explained.
Xu Fan nodded; it’s best to leave it to the experts.
"Grand Elder, I’ve been keeping up with Immortal Realm news. Having Grape gather info from millions of cultivators was a brilliant move!"
Pang Fu waved his hand, projecting a map of the Star Yuexian Domain into the air.
"I think our sect would fit best here," he pointed to a giant city on the map.
"The Golden City?"
"Exactly. It used to be rich with the largest mines in the Immortal Realm. Now it’s all mined out, and many artifact great masters and major trading powers have left."
"After all these years, it’s declined, but its location is prime, and it doesn’t attract much attention, fitting your criteria perfectly, Grand Elder," Pang Fu said with a smile.
Xu Fan studied the Golden City’s location and the surrounding area.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up.
"The Golden City isn’t the best spot; this place is," Xu Fan said, pointing to a specific location.
