Chapter 786
by fanqienovelChapter 786: Can Delicacies Lead to Immortality?
There were more than ten small animals in front of them, all renowned Invincible Beast Kings from the demon race.
Even the weakest among them had strength comparable to a higher-ranked elder in the Elder Council.
These weren’t just small animals—they represented half the power of the demon race.
"I have a fondness for raising small animals, especially those with a bit of strength."
"I heard your human race is waging war against the beast race. Given the friendly ties between our two realms, I thought I’d help ease your burden," Red Lotus Respected Elder explained.
"No need to argue. I’ll do you a favor—take these three small animals back with you."
Three tiny sealing formations appeared beneath the three Invincible Beast Kings, sealing them into beads the size of billiard balls.
"Consider them local specialties," Xu Fan said, tossing the three beads over.
At that moment, the other sealed Invincible Beast Kings began to wake up, looking around in confusion at the scene before them.
Xu Fan, Ming Kong, and the pureblood Qilin had effortlessly subdued just those three.
Some of the Invincible Beast Kings lowered their heads in resignation, their expressions saying, "Do what you will with us."
Red Lotus Respected Elder stared at the three sealing beads in her hand, clearly unwilling to accept this outcome.
She had come to this realm hoping to capture more Invincible Beast Kings to bolster the human race’s strength in the South Mountain Realm.
"If you’re planning to conquer the other two realms, these Invincible Beast Kings won’t be much help. They’re not worth much to you," Xu Fan remarked.
"You make a fair point, friend," Red Lotus Respected Elder nodded.
She glanced at the small animals she’d worked so hard to capture, her face showing a hint of regret.
"Think carefully about our alliance. It’s all gain, no loss," Red Lotus Respected Elder said before shattering the void and departing.
"The human race in the South Mountain Realm is far stronger than our Feiyu Realm," Ming Kong mused.
"After hundreds of thousands of years of accumulation, only in this generation have three supreme respected elders emerged."
"Red Lotus Respected Elder is the strongest among them," Xu Fan added.
"We’ll leave the glory of Feiyu Realm to your Elder Council," Xu Fan said with a smile.
He wasn’t an ambitious man and had no interest in dominating the cultivation world.
As long as he was strong enough, he’d remain unrivaled in his own realm.
"I won’t let the Grand Elder down," Ming Kong said solemnly.
"What should we do with these beasts?" Xu Fan asked, looking at the remaining dozen or so Invincible Beast Kings.
"If the Grand Elder doesn’t want them, I’ll take them all back to the Elder Council," Ming Kong replied.
"Take them. They’re no use to me here," Xu Fan said, waving his hand.
"Thank you, Grand Elder," Ming Kong said gratefully.
Ming Kong then added another layer of seals over the ones Red Lotus Respected Elder had placed and took all the Invincible Beast Kings back to the Elder Council headquarters.
Xu Fan glanced around to make sure everything was in order before dismissing his clone.
By then, Red Lotus Respected Elder was already waiting for Xu Fan in the guest hall.
Upon seeing Xu Fan enter, Red Lotus Respected Elder smiled and said, "Friend, after you became the supreme being of one realm, have you not thought about unifying the cultivation world and consolidating resources?"
"You and the other two friends have not unified the South Mountain Realm, demonstrating your status through a loose alliance," Xu Fan countered.
"That’s different. The three supreme beings in our sect control at least half of the resources in the South Mountain Realm."
"As for your Hidden Spirit Sect, I’m afraid it doesn’t even possess a tenth of that," Red Lotus Respected Elder remarked.
"The middle thousand world is just a small fish pond; it’s only a stepping stone here."
"Ultimately, one must head towards the vast ocean."
Red Lotus Respected Elder nodded, choosing not to dwell on the matter.
"Please consider the cooperation carefully," she said as she prepared to activate the Cross-Boundary Teleportation Formation to return to the South Mountain Realm.
"If we cooperate, what plans do you have?" Xu Fan asked with curiosity.
"With you around, everything is negotiable."
"We can directly lure the other two supreme beings out and join forces in the star region to eliminate them," Red Lotus Respected Elder suggested.
When strength reaches a certain level, there’s no need to think too much; simply eliminate the strongest, and the remaining complexities will take care of themselves.
"There is one supreme being in each of the other two realms, but their strengths are only slightly inferior to mine."
"If the two realms’ supremes join forces, my friend and I will have no way to resist," Red Lotus Respected Elder stated.
"Have you considered that the three of you could tie up the other two supremes so that the remaining respected elders can invade the other two realms?" Xu Fan proposed.
Upon hearing Xu Fan’s words, Red Lotus Respected Elder looked at him with the expression of someone who thought he was joking.
"The Heavenly Way’s Will in the other two realms is not to be underestimated; as soon as a large-scale battle occurs, the Heavenly Way’s Will there will surely weaken the power of the human race here."
"At that point, it would only benefit the other two realms," Red Lotus Respected Elder replied.
"Understood, thank you for clarifying, friend," Xu Fan nodded in response.
"I am heading back to the South Mountain Realm. You can come find us once you have made a decision," Red Lotus Respected Elder said before vanishing.
"Vineyard, create a small island specifically for placing the Cross-Boundary Teleportation Formation," Xu Fan commanded.
"Understood, Master."
That night, in Xu Fan’s courtyard, a fresh lamb leg was roasting over a pile of fruitwood charcoal.
Gourmet Disciple occasionally used his special ability to ignite the charcoal, adjusting the heat so that the lamb leg cooked evenly.
"Grand Elder, I have a question," said the disciple of the gourmet division, seizing a rare opportunity to consult the Grand Elder.
"Speak."
"Can one achieve immortality through the gourmet way?"
"Yes, but there are no paths in this realm. You must forge your own," Xu Fan replied leisurely.
For some reason, he had a strong craving for roasted lamb leg today, so he called Gourmet Disciple to show off his skills.
A wisp of internal fire was drawn from the charcoal by the disciple of the gourmet division, penetrating into the lamb leg bone and cooking it from the inside out.
"This path is not easy, so it’s best for you to practice the gourmet division alongside the normal sect’s Five Elements Technique," Xu Fan suggested.
He had high hopes for these two Gourmet Disciples in the sect, but given the lack of a path in this realm, their current progress was already quite commendable.
"If you want to carve out your own path, I will support you."
A plate of lamb leg meat, cut into slices and evenly sprinkled with cumin, slowly floated towards Xu Fan.
A bottle of homemade chilled beer appeared in Xu Fan’s hand.
With a bite of lamb leg and a sip of beer, Xu Fan’s thoughts drifted back to that hot summer when lamb skewers were just one coin each.
"I have average talent and can only practice both the normal and gourmet paths."
"Song Shidi is more dedicated to the gourmet path than I am, so he can probably blaze his own trail," said the disciple slicing the lamb leg.
"Your junior brother indeed has some potential; the spiritual energy feast he developed is quite promising."
"It would be even better if he didn’t create all those flashy things," Xu Fan said, recalling the last time another Gourmet Disciple brought him the Ten Thousand Brain Porridge.
Though it was nourishing with good effects, the taste was rather difficult to describe.
