Chapter 614
by fanqienovelChapter 614: The Damaged Celestial Tool
"Awesome!!"
The Source Flame Respected Elder, on the verge of dissipating, summed up all his feelings in just two words.
"It barely matches up to a beast king who’s just entered the invincible realm," Xu Fan remarked, a hint of disappointment in his voice.
The head of the frozen rain goose beast king appeared.
"He twisted off your head, and I smashed his; though he didn’t die, I’ve avenged you halfway."
"Rest assured, the Giant Eagle of the Dark Moon is now in my little notebook, and he must die—no one can save him," Xu Fan said lightly, his gaze fixed on the frozen head of the rain goose beast king.
"Your death will be considered a work-related injury; your clan will henceforth be under the protection of the sect."
"That’s all I can do. You might be the first beast king to die from a work-related injury, and it’s a rather pitiful way to go," Xu Fan sighed.
He felt a pang of regret for the rain goose beast king, who lost his head in such an unclear manner and died without enjoying any benefits after joining the Hidden Spirit Sect.
Suddenly, an overwhelming spiritual pressure suppressed the Great Ascension stage puppet.
"Human, I didn’t expect another Invincible Beast King to be here."
It was the Giant Eagle of the Dark Moon, who had fled and returned, accompanied by a Strange Bird with four wings and a dragon’s head.
"With two Invincible Beast Kings here today, let’s see how you escape," the Giant Eagle boasted, eyeing the Great Ascension stage puppet like a lamb to the slaughter.
"Human, open the two realms passage and let us search. I’ll give you a chance to escape," the dragon-headed Strange Bird said indifferently, as if it didn’t care either way.
"That’s more like it; at least you’re leaving me some room," Xu Fan chuckled.
"Leave now while I’m in a good mood, and I might spare your lives."
Xu Fan’s fearless tone enraged the Giant Eagle.
"Human, your invincible respected elder’s Avatar Jade Talisman is gone. Let’s see how cocky you can be now," the Giant Eagle growled, ready to attack.
Just as it was about to strike, it noticed the dark blue Avatar Jade Talisman swaying in the hand of the Great Ascension stage puppet.
"Looking to die?"
"I’ll grant your wish!"
The Great Ascension stage puppet sneered, glaring at the two Invincible Beast Kings.
"Master Youming!"
The two Invincible Beast Kings were instantly terrified, as if facing something horrifying, and immediately broke through space, teleporting away.
"Didn’t expect my sister-in-law’s reputation to be so effective!" Xu Fan said, glancing at the dark blue Avatar Jade Talisman in his hand.
"Using my sister-in-law’s Avatar Jade Talisman comes at too high a cost. It’s better to wait until I reach the Great Ascension stage before avenging you," Xu Fan said, looking at the head of the rain goose beast king.
"Pang Fu, let’s set up a temporary base here; this Great Ascension stage puppet will hold the fort," Xu Fan ordered.
"Yes, Master."
Xu Fan shifted his consciousness back to his main body and mused, "Having a reliable backer sure makes things easier."
Just as Xu Fan was about to rest after the intense battle, Pang Fu returned, piloting the Serpent Spirit Ship.
"Greetings, Grand Elder," Pang Fu said with joy.
"You look so happy. Did you get something good?" Xu Fan asked with a smile.
Since Xu Fan’s minister of commerce returned, the supplies in the Hidden Spirit Sect’s treasury had gradually increased.
Now he was thinking about whether to bring in a small world to serve as a treasury.
"Grand Elder, I really did get something good."
Pang Fu presented a damaged celestial tool like a treasure, handing it to Xu Fan.
"This time, I visited a once-glorious sect, and the ship happened to carry the spirit ore they needed most."
"That sect didn’t have enough spirit stones, so they traded this damaged celestial tool instead," Pang Fu explained.
"If I can repair this celestial tool, that would be great; if not, I can always sell it to the Heavenly Refining Sect."
"It’s a sure profit."
Having once dealt in magical tools, he had some expertise in appraising them.
Xu Fan curiously took the damaged celestial tool.
"This celestial tool isn’t fake, but it’s badly damaged, making it tricky to repair."
"Still, it’s probably easier than making a new one from scratch," Xu Fan assessed.
The celestial tool looked like a broken small mirror, its surface shattered and missing pieces in some places.
"Grand Elder, should we keep this celestial tool or sell it to the Heavenly Refining Sect?" Pang Fu asked.
"Let’s keep it for now. I can’t fully grasp its potential yet. If I can fix it, it could be a big help to our sect," Xu Fan said with a smile.
"If this celestial tool suits you, Minister Pang, I’ll repair it and give it to you."
"I don’t need a celestial tool; just assign me a few more Star Ships, Grand Elder."
"With Star Ships, I can earn plenty of spirit stones and spirit ore," Pang Fu said. From what he’d seen, he could do a lot of big business; he just needed more Star Ships.
"Alright, I’ll have the beast clan master craftsmen make a few Star Ships for you; they’re ready to work," Xu Fan said with a smile.
"Thank you, Grand Elder."
"Next time you head out, take Grand Elder No. 1 and Master Sha with you. You can escort them," Xu Fan said.
"That’s easy; just a few extra stops."
After giving his instructions, Xu Fan returned to his courtyard to rest.
The recent intense battle had drained a lot of his energy. Even though he only made eight strikes, the energy used could have lasted him days in normal battles.
In the courtyard, Xu Fan lay on a chair, rubbing his head, when something suddenly came to mind.
"Grape, what’s the Jade Light Beast King up to?" Xu Fan asked abruptly.
"She’s teaching her clan, passing on advanced techniques to maintain the Precious Artifact Rabbit Clan’s soul healing center," Grape replied.
"Tell her to come over after her lesson; I need her to help me relax," Xu Fan said seriously.
"Understood, Master."
Soon, a dignified rabbit-eared girl in a sleek white dress arrived at Xu Fan’s courtyard.
Xu Fan glanced at her briefly before looking away.
"Grape said the Grand Elder needs some mental relaxation," the Jade Light Beast King said with a smile, her expression showing a hint of excitement.
This was the first time the Grand Elder had called her to assist, and she was determined to do her best.
"I had a tough battle controlling a puppet against a powerful beast king in the demon race, and I’m a bit overloaded. I appreciate your help," Xu Fan said politely, his tone formal, as if he were in a business meeting.
"This is my specialty. Would the Grand Elder prefer to do it here or inside?" the Jade Light Beast King asked.
"Is there a difference?"
"Here, I’d only do head therapy. If we go inside, I can give the Grand Elder a full-body therapy," the Jade Light Beast King explained, smiling.
"Which is better?"
"Full-body therapy, of course, since mental overload can cause fatigue in other parts of the body."
"Then let’s go inside," Xu Fan said, standing up.
His expression remained serious.
