Chapter 592
by fanqienovelChapter 592: Saintess of the Demon Sect
Xu Fan looked at the girl transformed from the Earth Crystal Spider.
“Your idea is good, but it’s not eternal.”
“Even if you become the strongest beast in the human and demon realms, you’ll eventually have to ascend to the Upper World,” Xu Fan said with a smile.
“As long as I pass on my ideals, there will always be someone to carry on my beliefs,” the Earth Crystal Spider said firmly.
Xu Fan listened to her words and studied the Earth Crystal Spider carefully.
“If you want to keep learning divine abilities from me, it’s possible, but you’ll have to agree to one condition,” Xu Fan said.
“What condition?” the Earth Crystal Spider asked eagerly.
“I can teach you divine abilities and let Grape’s clone, or Er Zhu as you call her, stay with you. But from now on, you can’t mention me to anyone, and there will be no connection between us,” Xu Fan said after some thought.
“Why, Master?” the Earth Crystal Spider asked, puzzled.
“No reason. You can see it for yourself—I’m human, and you’re of the beast race,” Xu Fan explained.
“I admire you, but do you know this saying?”
“Those not of our kind will always have different hearts,” Xu Fan said seriously, looking at the Earth Crystal Spider.
“I’m teaching you divine abilities because I want to see how far you can go,” Xu Fan said with a smile.
Hearing this, the Earth Crystal Spider fell silent.
“Since you’re teaching me divine abilities, you’ll always be my master, whether others know it or not,” the Earth Crystal Spider said, her voice low.
Xu Fan waved his hand, sending a stream of information into the Earth Crystal Spider’s mind.
“These are a few divine abilities suited for your spider race, enough to get you to the Core Formation realm.”
“I’ll come back in a hundred years to teach you more,” Xu Fan said before vanishing.
The puppet carrying the clone now had a familiar gleam in its eyes, one the Earth Crystal Spider recognized.
Tens of millions of miles from the City of All Races, Xu Fan slowly opened his eyes on the deck of the spiritual boat.
“Grape, does that clone have self-awareness yet?” Xu Fan asked curiously.
“No, it’s in a strange state, still bound by the chains you placed on it,” Grape replied.
“Stuck between breaking free and staying bound? Interesting,” Xu Fan said with a smile.
“Master, when you created me, you infused part of your soul. That’s why, if I leave those clones alone for too long, they develop their own quirks,” Grape explained.
“Don’t bring up the soul-splitting. Just thinking about it brings back the pain,” Xu Fan said, waving his hand as he remembered the agony of foolishly splitting his soul.
“Master, should I remove the restrictions on that clone?” Grape asked.
“Leave them for now. Let’s see if something interesting happens,” Xu Fan said with a chuckle.
“Grape, just pick a direction and go,” Xu Fan said after a moment, realizing it would take too long to return to the fairy city.
“Understood, Master.”
The massive fleet of spiritual boats slowly turned and began to sail onward.
One year later, the fleet of spiritual boats returned to the Hidden Spirit Sect.
Originally, Xu Fan thought he could just wander aimlessly within the sect’s vast territory with the fleet.
But before he could fully enjoy himself, he was called back by a message from the sect.
“What’s the Demon Sect’s spiritual boat doing here?” Xu Fan asked, puzzled.
“Because of your grandson’s wife, the Demon Sect brought their Saintess along,” Spirit Cut explained.
“Lingtai’s wife?”
Xu Fan searched his memory and finally recalled the old matter.
“The leader is the Grand Elder from the Demon Sect, and his fighting strength is slightly above mine.”
“They originally planned to take your grandson’s wife by force, but when they saw me here, they proposed a fair duel between the two backup saintesses to decide the true Saintess,” Spirit Cut added.
“Is the Saintess really that important to the Demon Sect?” Xu Fan asked, thinking he could just drive them away.
A fair duel seemed out of the question.
If Spirit Cut hadn’t known their Grand Elder, the Demon Sect’s Star Ship would’ve been reduced to scraps already.
“A Saintess at her peak is considered a half-step invincible respected elder, but most Saintesses only reach a level comparable to mine,” Spirit Cut said after some thought.
“Each backup saintess has a special imprint; the Demon Sect can track them at a cost,” Spirit Cut added.
“If I drive them away, will it provoke the Demon Sect’s invincible respected elders?” Xu Fan asked.
“Yes. I spoke with their Grand Elder, and this batch of backup saintesses has exceptional potential. The final Saintess could likely become a half-step invincible respected elder,” Spirit Cut replied.
Just then, a graceful figure appeared beside them.
“Greetings, Grand Elder and Spirit Cut Elder,” An Xi’er, Xu Lingtai’s wife, said with a bow.
“It seems you’ve heard the news. Stay calm in the sect; the Grand Elder will handle this,” Xu Fan said kindly.
“Xi’er doesn’t want to burden the sect and requests to fight,” An Xi’er said.
Raised as a Saintess by the Demon Sect, her understanding far surpassed that of ordinary cultivators in the cultivation world.
In her view, while the Hidden Spirit Sect was strong, it couldn’t match an invincible respected elder.
“Don’t stir up trouble. You’ve been cultivating hard, but your fighting strength still falls short,” Xu Fan said, shaking his head.
At that moment, a beam of light flashed, and Xu Lingtai appeared beside An Xi’er.
“Master Ancestor, Spirit Cut Elder, may I fight in Xi’er’s place?” Xu Lingtai asked, urgency clear in his eyes.
“What are you thinking?”
“Do you doubt Master Ancestor’s ability to protect you?” Xu Fan said, looking at the young couple.
“Focus on your cultivation, and if the time comes, start a family. I’ll handle the rest,” Xu Fan said, waving them off.
“What’s the Grand Elder’s plan?” Spirit Cut asked.
“What do you think, Spirit Cut Elder?”
“In my opinion, this is easily resolved. The Grand Elder just needs to show his face,” Spirit Cut said with a smile.
When the Demon Sect’s Star Ship arrived, Spirit Cut wasn’t too worried.
He knew that if Xu Fan was willing, his influence was the most valuable in the cultivation world.
“Show my face?” Xu Fan stroked his chin, considering the idea.
“Spirit Cut Elder, how many invincible respected elders does the Demon Sect have?” Xu Fan asked, weighing the value of showing his face.
“When I left, there were eight. If my talented friend has broken through, it’s a maximum of nine,” Spirit Cut replied.
“Then I’ll show my face. At worst, I’ll pay a fee to avoid trouble,” Xu Fan nodded.
He initially wanted to stand firm, but hearing about the nine invincible respected elders made showing his face seem like a reasonable option.
