Chapter 538: The Star Ship is Complete

Xu Fan had grown so bored with crafting the railgun that he started bickering with the second clone.

As they worked on the railgun, they kept throwing sarcastic remarks at each other, which made the two beast clan master craftsmen nearby so uneasy that they nearly produced a defective piece.

Finally, the second clone had enough and set up a soundproof barrier around himself and Xu Fan.

"Arguing is pointless. Why don’t we brainstorm how to create a puppet capable of crafting celestial tools?" Xu Fan suggested. Since the second clone was here, they might as well do something worthwhile.

"Sounds good. Since the railgun isn’t challenging, we can draft the contingency plan for that puppet while we’re at it," the second clone agreed with a nod.

Their discussion stretched on for two years.

Just as they finished the railgun, the first clone rushed over and said, "Master, both Star Ships are fully completed. You can come inspect them now."

"Perfect timing! I just finished here, and you’re done over there," Xu Fan chuckled.

"If the second clone hadn’t come over to distract you, I could’ve finished half a year earlier," the first clone shot a glare at the second clone.

"Maybe if you didn’t spend all your time lecturing me, things would’ve gone smoother," the second clone shot back with a smirk.

"You’re just here to stir up trouble; you…"

Xu Fan waved his hand to cut off the argument.

"Let’s go check out the Star Ships. If you two want to argue, find somewhere private," Xu Fan said, clearly annoyed.

He was tempted to turn them both into emotionless tools.

On the plain behind the main peak, two brand-new Star Ships were docked.

One resembled an ancient giant sailing ship, complete with Wind Wings on either side.

The other looked like a futuristic sci-fi battleship, sleek and modern.

One was sci-fi, the other classical—no one could say which was better.

"Guess I’ve got a bit of artistic flair after all," Xu Fan remarked, admiring the classical-style Star Ship in the distance.

Having only seen it in the design drawings, he was struck by its beauty now that it was complete.

The classical Star Ship looked like a giant whale spreading its wings, both elegant and majestic.

"Alright, time for the most important part. Second clone, you get to name that Star Ship," Xu Fan said.

"Are you sure you want me to name it?" the second clone asked, raising an eyebrow.

"As long as it’s not too ridiculous," Xu Fan replied with a grin.

"How about Grand Elder’s Judgment?" the second clone suggested after a moment’s thought.

"Nope, try again," Xu Fan rejected the idea.

"Then how about Hidden Spirit No. 2?" the second clone proposed.

"Why not No. 1?" the first clone protested.

"Master, it’s Hidden Spirit No. 2. Any future Star Ships will follow this naming convention," the second clone said with a laugh. "Your disapproval just proves it’s a good name."

"Fine, Hidden Spirit No. 2 it is," Xu Fan said, nodding. A name this straightforward would avoid any objections from the second clone.

As soon as Xu Fan finished speaking, the outer wall of the sci-fi Star Ship lit up with the markings of Hidden Spirit No. 2.

"Now we’re just waiting for Master Qianling to show up and take delivery," Xu Fan said, admiring the classic design of the Star Ship.

"Grape, pull up the list of spirit ores used in making Hidden Spirit No. 2," Xu Fan added after a pause. He hadn’t been keeping tabs on the materials used for this Star Ship.

A large light screen popped up in front of Xu Fan, packed with tiny text detailing all the spirit ore used.

"Red marks are for artifact-level spirit ore, and green marks are for celestial tool-level spirit ore," Grape’s voice chimed in.

Xu Fan skimmed through it and then turned to his first clone, saying, "Good job this time; the celestial tool-level spirit ore used is all within acceptable limits."

    "Here’s a thumbs up for you~"

"If you’d looked closely, you’d see that all the celestial tool-level spirit ore I left was taken up by later projects. I couldn’t even touch it," the first clone muttered, sounding a bit miffed.

"Wow, you’re right," Xu Fan said, checking the remaining celestial tool-level spirit ore in the treasury.

"So next time, get more celestial tool-level spirit ore so I can really go to town," the first clone suggested.

"Who knows when the next Star Ship will be made; I’ve almost used up all the celestial tool-level spirit ore I’ve gathered over the years," Xu Fan sighed, looking at the treasury list.

Before all these Tasks came up, Xu Fan used to feel pretty good looking at the list, but now it just made him sigh.

"Don’t worry; the Star Ship I made can go deeper into the Extreme Void Domain. There might be more celestial tool-level spirit ore there," the first clone said.

"Let’s hope so~" Xu Fan replied.

Just then, Spirit Cut showed up next to Xu Fan, excitedly saying, "Grand Elder, how about we take the new Star Ship for a spin?"

"Not yet; Master Qianling should be here any day now. We’ll test the new spiritual boat when he arrives," Xu Fan replied.

"Alright," Spirit Cut said, trying to keep his excitement in check.

Three days later, a fleet of Star Ships landed on the Ten Thousand-Mile Giant Lake.

"Grand Elder, it’s been a while! How have you been?" Master Qianling greeted with a smile.

He’d brought a big chunk of Qianling Sect’s top brass to pick up the Star Ship and also to enjoy a little trip.

"Getting by, just managing~" Xu Fan replied. It’s not like anyone feels great all the time, and he hadn’t been doing so well lately.

Just then, an old man appeared next to Master Qianling.

"Grand Elder, welcome to Hidden Spirit Sect! Your visit is an honor…"

Before Xu Fan could finish, the Grand Elder of Qianling Sect cut him off.

"No need for formalities, Grand Elder; I’m just here for a visit," the Grand Elder of Qianling Sect said with a smile.

"I’ve heard so much from the second brother about how great Hidden Spirit Sect is, how talented the disciples are, so I thought I’d come see for myself and learn a thing or two."

"Welcome, welcome! Feel free to look around," Xu Fan said with a smile.

He hadn’t expected the big shot from Qianling Sect to show up, and he knew he had to make a good impression and cozy up to this powerful ally.

This guy could go toe-to-toe with any of the top 20 invincible respected elders in the Elder Council, making him pretty much unbeatable in this realm.

At that moment, Spirit Cut felt a bit nervous, worried that the Grand Elder of Qianling Sect might hold his past as a demonic cultivator against him.

After all, this elder could squash him like a bug with just a flick of his finger.

The high-ranking officials from Qianling Sect, led by Xu Fan, entered Hidden Spirit Sect.

As soon as they stepped inside, all the top brass from Qianling Sect looked a bit shocked.

"Is this for real? It’s so over-the-top."

"Heavenly Qing Ling energy mixed with the five elemental origins; this is seriously extravagant," the Grand Elder of Qianling Sect said, surprised. He’d been the leader of Qianling Sect for a while and knew how pricey this kind of setup was.

"Heavenly Qing Ling energy isn’t that rare, but when did we get this five elemental origins?" Master Qianling asked, curious.
