Volume 1 Chapter 29
by Need_More_SleepVolume 1 + Chapter 29: No Title
The dorm room was bathed in the warm glow of fluorescent light.
I sat tensely in my chair, my fair, soft legs pressed together, rubbing lightly against each other. Even my slightly curled, delicate toes revealed the unease in my heart.
The boss reached out with her slender fingers and assertively hooked my chin, forcing my blushing face, flushed with embarrassment, into her view.
Our faces were so close that I could clearly see the shy nervousness on her delicate, adorable features. At the same time, I could feel her sweet breath brushing against my skin, leaving a faint, ticklish warmth.
“D-don’t come so close, boss…” I tried my best to maintain my posture in the chair.
“Please, Xiao Li, just hold on a little longer, it’ll be done soon.”
The boss stood on the floor, her hands braced on either side of my chair, lowering her head as she shyly gazed at me. She herself was clearly not used to playing such a domineering role.

The phone, propped up on a stand on the opposite desk, finally captured the photo.
Since there was no third person in the dorm, we had no choice but to rely on the phone’s timer function.
But timed photography came with plenty of inconveniences, we had to try over and over again before managing to get a few shots that looked acceptable.
As for why we were taking such embarrassingly intimate photos… that traced back to the top supporter in the boss’s livestream rankings: [Picked Up Money Today].
[Um… could I ask you two for a favor?]
[I’m actually a photography enthusiast. I really like capturing the sincere, beautiful emotions between girls.]
[I know you’re both very cute girls. I like you both very much, and I’d love to capture your genuine friendship in person.]
[But I’m afraid of disturbing your lives, so could you take a photo that captures your beautiful moments together and send it to me? I’ll treasure it carefully.]
I never expected that this top supporter would have such… a unique hobby. Was this what people called a “yuri enthusiast”? Truly terrifying.
His profile indicated that he was male, so we naturally assumed he was a man.
But since he had helped Shuo Yan so much and given so many donations, we really couldn’t bring ourselves to refuse him.
The problem was that we didn’t have a proper camera on hand. Renting one would take time, which we didn’t have.
After asking him, he said using a phone camera was perfectly fine, he didn’t mind at all.
Then, unexpectedly, he even had specific requirements for the pose. He sent over an anime-style image of two girls in an intimate pose and asked us to imitate it.
The moment I saw the image, I was utterly speechless.
Th-this… this was supposed to be pure friendship? Something about it felt very off.
Although I was extremely reluctant, under the boss’s half-coaxing, half-pushing, I still sat down and struck the embarrassing pose.
“How does it look? Send it to him and see.” I slumped in the chair, lifeless, too lazy to even get up.
“He says it looks great, and he also wishes our friendship will last forever!” the boss said, looking at the chat on her phone.
“Last forever…”
Seriously, this guy is definitely a hardcore yuri fan.
Other people use money to flirt with girls; this guy spends money just to watch cute girls being affectionate with each other. As expected, rich people’s tastes are truly something else.
[Thank you! Also… is it really okay for middle schoolers to be livestreaming? Do your families know?]
!?
The moment the boss read that line aloud beside me, I instantly bristled.
I shot up from my chair, snatched the phone from her hand, and quickly typed a reply:
[Excuse me! We’re university students! Uni-ver-si-ty students! We’re adults!]
“He even added the word ‘little’ before ‘middle schooler’, he must think we’re elementary school kids! Ugh, I’m going to bite him!” I glared fiercely at the screen.
Shuo Yan gently pulled the phone out of my grasp and forced a smile, trying to ease the awkward atmosphere.
“Haha, Xiao Li, don’t get so worked up. We do look quite petite right now, maybe that confused him. It’s fine. To me, you’re still the same cool, handsome guy you used to be.”
She cautiously reached out and placed her hand on my head, gently smoothing my hair.
“Stare~ If you still see me as before, then why are you patting my head? I don’t remember you liking to do that in the past.”
“Uh… your hair was messy, so I was just fixing it, ehe~”
The boss froze for a moment, then awkwardly scratched her own head and stuck out her tongue with an embarrassed smile.
After that, the top supporter seemed to realize he had misspoken and sent us an apology on QQ.
Being broad-minded, we naturally forgave him.
After finishing this little photo session, it was already getting late, around seven o’clock.
We needed to hurry and head to the student union building for a meeting.
Under normal circumstances, each department within the university’s student union held regular meetings on Sunday evenings to assign weekly tasks and organize upcoming activities.
The faculty-level student unions represented individual departments, while the university-wide student union represented the entire student body.
Both were important, though the university-level union bore heavier responsibilities and workload.
Back when I first entered university, I had only wanted to drift through campus life lazily. But the boss insisted on dragging me into this exhausting student union.
She said it would make university life more meaningful, help me learn more, and meet more interesting people.
In reality, I had simply gone from doing nothing to becoming a diligent worker bee, carrying out tasks assigned by teachers and department heads.
Because of our different personalities, the boss and I chose different departments.
She enjoyed socializing and interacting with others, so she joined the External Relations Department, responsible for maintaining communication with various faculties.
As for me, I just wanted to quietly loaf around, so I picked the most relaxed department, the Publicity Department, where I could mostly coast along.
We quickened our pace along the way, afraid of being late. Once we reached the student union floor, we split up, since our departments were in different offices.
Before I even opened the door, I suddenly felt a soft, warm body press against my back, wrapping me in an embrace.
Along with it came a faint, refreshing fragrance, and a bright, cheerful voice.
“Xiao Yu Li, I didn’t expect you’d be late with me too! It’s been almost a week since I last saw you, let me give you a proper hug~”
The girl behind me, a head taller than me, hugged me tightly, leaning in toward my neck and breathing deeply.
“H-hey, don’t stick your tongue out, that tickles!”
