    Volume 1 + Chapter 19: No Title

After unlocking the door with her key, Shuo Yan led us inside.

The home’s decor was exceptionally warm and cozy, instantly making one feel a sense of closeness.

After changing into slippers, Shuo Yan had Su Guo and me sit on the sofa to rest for a bit. She then took Qian Zexing to look at the spare room in the house.

A little while later, they returned to the living room and also sat down on the sofa.

With matters settled, we could only sit there somewhat blankly, with nothing much to do.

“Ahh, this is so boring. Let’s play a game,” Shuo Yan stood up and suggested.

    “Game?” ×3

Shuo Yan took two controllers from the drawer under the TV, turned on the television, and opened The King of Fighters on the console’s game platform.

“Remember how I beat you guys at the arcade before? Hmph,” Shuo Yan said, striking a proud pose, holding her chest out as if her nose was about to touch the ceiling.

“What?! I refuse to accept that! It was just luck that you managed to win one more round against me. This time will be different.” Qian Zexing immediately perked up at the mention of games.

They were the two most avid gamers in the dorm, so occasional squabbles over games were pretty normal.

“Oh? What’s the penalty for losing? We need to set a punishment. How about… the loser gets ten spankings?” Our boss’s smile gradually turned deviant, eerily reminiscent of a legendary… let’s say, mischievous character.

“No wonder someone as perverted as you, Boss, can’t find a girlfriend.” Although Qian Zexing found the proposed punishment utterly ridiculous, she still agreed.

The goal was to win ten rounds first. In The King of Fighters, each round allowed the selection of three characters, essentially comprising three sub-rounds. A game only ended when one side’s three characters were all defeated.

However, the results proved that even with closely matched skill levels, Shuo Yan held the advantage in her familiar home environment.

Amidst cackling laughter that could only be described as chuunibyou-esque, Shuo Yan effortlessly scored six consecutive wins.

“Ahahaha, Third, is that all you’ve got? Get your butt ready later, I’ll try to keep it light.”

“Grrr.” Qian Zexing gnashed her teeth in frustration. Each time, she felt she was just a hair’s breadth away from victory, yet she couldn’t quite take Shuo Yan down.

She felt her current state was off and needed to readjust. So, she tossed her controller onto the sofa and declared with tsundere-like pride, “Hmph, I’ll let you have a few rounds first. I’m tired. I’ll catch up on the score later.”

Not to be outdone, the boss fired back with more taunts. “Is that so? Wouldn’t it be bad if you ended up with ten straight losses?”

Su Guo and I watched their childish bickering and couldn’t help but laugh in unison.

It seemed no matter what, our dorm room was still the same as ever. Just being gathered together felt incredibly reassuring and joyful.

“Huh? You dare laugh at us? Fourth is mine, you take Second,” Shuo Yan said to Qian Zexing, then pounced with a mischievous grin on the delicate Su Guo.

“Eeek, Boss, don’t! Mmmph~ Ahaha, that tickles!” Su Guo let out small, beast-like whimpers and giggles.

But I wasn’t like the delicate Fourth. Despite Third’s attempts, she couldn’t pin me down after several tries. Instead, I managed to lock her in a hug.

    “There, there~”

With one arm holding her and the other stroking her head, I left her with no strength to resist.

Under my head-patting “attack,” Qian Zexing comfortably narrowed her eyes. If she had a tail, I imagine it would be wagging back and forth repeatedly right now, just like an adorable little kitten.

Thus, the hunter was counter-killed by the prey and became spellbound by the prey’s caresses.

We frolicked for quite a while until our bodies grew a bit tired, then lay down on the sofa to rest.

“Boss, speaking of which, if Third is going to stay at your place for a while, did your family agree to it?” I voiced a question that was on my mind.

“Huff… No problem. My parents work in another city. It’s just me and my younger sister at home. It’s fine,” she replied, still breathing slightly heavily, her body not fully recovered yet.

    “That’s good…”

No sooner had the words left my mouth than a crisp sound of a key turning in the lock was heard, and the door opened.

A strikingly beautiful girl walked in.

She shared Shuo Yan’s hair color—soft, chestnut-brown long hair tied into adorable twin tails with white ribbons. Her features were delicate and gentle, capable of inspiring goodwill at first glance. A beige dress accentuated her lovely figure, making her appear even more youthful and cute.

She stood on the doormat, holding a bag in one hand while using the other to slip off the two small leather shoes on her feet.

Her feet, encased in white tights, lightly touched the floor before slipping into a pair of pink slippers.

Upon seeing so many people in the living room, the beautiful girl was momentarily stunned. But when she spotted Shuo Yan among the four of us, a delighted smile spread across her face. “Sis! You’re back from school today? Why didn’t you tell me in advance?”

    Sis?

So this beautiful girl was Shuo Yan’s younger sister. No wonder she looked so similar—like an older version of Shuo Yan, carved from the same mold.

“Ahem, I just missed you, that’s all. So I came back to visit. Ahem, these are my roommates,” Shuo Yan said, then turned to introduce her sister to us. “And, as you three can see, this is my younger sister. Her name is Shuo Shuo. You can also call her Little Shuo.”

“Wow, these are Sis’s roommates? They’re really as cute as Sis! What do you like to eat? There’s plenty of cake in the fridge,” Shuo Shuo stepped closer, placing her hands behind her back and looking down at us with curious eyes.

“No, no, that’s okay. We’re already sorry for intruding, and we’re not hungry either,” I replied politely with a wave and a smile, feeling a bit reserved.

“Please don’t be so formal~ You’re Sis’s good friends. Since you’re here, we must treat you well. I happened to buy a lot of groceries this morning. Sisters, please stay for dinner today.”

Shuo Shuo’s voice was gentle and delicate, flowing like a clear, soothing stream.

After saying this, she placed the bag she was carrying into the refrigerator. That must be the groceries she bought this morning.

It was still quite early, so Shuo Shuo didn’t start preparing lunch immediately. Instead, she joined us in the living room to hang out.

Meanwhile, the match between Shuo Yan and Qian Zexing had resumed.

Although the score was 6-0 at the start, it didn’t dampen Qian Zexing’s morale. She adjusted her state and turned the tables on Shuo Yan, winning three rounds in a row.

But then she hit another losing streak, allowing Shuo Yan to take three consecutive rounds again.

Now at 9-3, with only one round left before losing, Qian Zexing suddenly felt immense pressure.

Her hands couldn’t operate with the same confidence and decisiveness as in the previous rounds. One mistake, and she’d lose, while Shuo Yan had a much higher margin for error.

Just as the final match was about to start and character selection began, Shuo Shuo, who had heard about the bet, expressed keen interest.

“Can I play this round on behalf of Sister Qian?”
