Chapter 183
by Need_More_SleepChapter 183: The End
“Did things quiet down over there?”
“Is it over? Thank goodness.”
Most of them had never faced such a formidable opponent in their lives. Even if ability rankings were just comprehensive evaluations, this was too much.
To ensure the governor’s escape, they’d dressed him in Superhuman Police attire and split into multiple groups—barely managing to slip past.
“Don’t worry, we’ll get you to safety,” one police officer assured confidently.
The governor shook his head, expression bitter.
This was why you never did even a hint of evil. Every choice in life could be the spark that led to ruin.
“Someone’s approaching—fast, from above! Fall back!”
Everyone looked up.
A petite figure in black free-fell headfirst from the sky.
A simple trick to mislead—just a quick call to Hermit.
Then, the moonlight vanished. The scene before them darkened so abruptly that their brains couldn’t process it, making them question their vision.
A deafening boom snapped them back to reality—something massive had crashed down, obliterating the farmland.
A huge section of a broken bridge.
A river-spanning structure, originally nearly half a kilometer long.
Like Magneto (The dramatic version) had descended. The Black-Clothed One stood atop it, backlit by the moon, her blue eyes glaring down.
Now the Sunshine City cops understood why Fanzui City’s police force had struggled to capture this underage Black-Clothed One.
They had no LV4s here—but that wasn’t too bad. Against anyone less versatile than Wei Shi, high-tier LV3s could still challenge an LV4.
Take the temperature manipulator—for all her power, she was still as fragile as any human.
But staring at the bridge now, they recalled the Black-Clothed One’s profile:
– LV4 Physical Enhancement
– LV4 Spatial Manipulation
– LV? Ability-Nullifying Flames
In some ways, she might be even scarier than Wei Shi.
The lead officer gritted his teeth, twirling his baton. “Second Brother, 3D—get the governor out. I’ll hold her off.”
But his sacrifice wasn’t needed.
“MI! XIAO! LIU!” A furious voice.
Two small fists, glowing with power, slammed down without mercy.
This time, Yiwen didn’t use her favorite pinning move.
Mi Xiaoliu blocked with one arm—but the steel bridge beneath her bent, sinking deeper into the soil and kicking up dust.
The officers gaped.
Who the hell is this fierce warrior?!
Up close, Yiwen locked eyes with Mi Xiaoliu’s eerily familiar blue gaze, grinding her teeth. She’d never known Mi Xiaoliu’s eyes were blue—just like she’d never known “Mi Xiaoliu” had this much strength.
This little b*tch even blocked me with one hand lmao.
Where was the “timid boy trembling under Gloria’s bullying” act now?
She was faking it the whole time.
Even the “broken arm” was probably self-inflicted—to play weak? Keep pretending to be a pure, delicate boyfriend?
“You lied to me,” Yiwen seethed.
She started questioning Mi Xiaoliu’s motives.
That attack exploited her weakness. The dream server incident—Black-Clothed One had followed her there. She’s been using me all along. How dare she.
Mi Xiaoliu: “??”
Tilting her pretty face, she blinked at Yiwen in confusion.
Yiwen seethed harder.
“This white-haired idiot’s delusional. She’s the one who wanted to jump you,” Sasha muttered.
Mi Xiaoliu gently pushed Yiwen aside—just before crushing gravity spiked. But already familiar with Yiwen’s moves, she leaped out of range before the full force hit.
This only infuriated Yiwen more.
The officers below snapped out of their daze, batons ready—but Yiwen swatted them back with a wave.
“Get him out. Don’t bother me.”
“??”
This strong girl’s temper is… not great?
The commotion reminded Mi Xiaoliu of Wei Shi’s orders. She tried darting past Yiwen to grab the governor.
She could use her blue-flame cannon at this range—but didn’t dare.
In any form, that cannon emitted blue fire.
In games, a cheap dev might slap a three-cent flame texture on it. But in reality? Actual flames.
Yiwen wouldn’t let her go, leg snapping up toward Mi Xiaoliu’s stomach—
—then dropping last second to trip her instead. Yiwen hated those feet. Bad memories.
Seizing the chance, the officers bolted with the governor.
Who knew they’d have such a powerhouse on their side? Two moves to pin the Black-Clothed One!
With Mi Xiaoliu down, Yiwen straddled her—just like old times.
Mi Xiaoliu’s legs kicked uselessly, eyes locked on the fleeing governor.
If he gets away, Boss will be mad. Mad = forehead flicks. Maybe even spankings.
Governor escapes = spanked.
Scared.
“Why assassinate the governor?” Yiwen demanded first.
The governor was a good person.
Mi Xiaoliu didn’t answer. She didn’t know why either.
“Then why did you lie to me?” Yiwen pressed.
The moment Mi Xiaoliu transformed in front of her, her heart had shattered. Every sweet memory now felt like an illusion.
“Didn’t lie to Yiwen,” Mi Xiaoliu argued.
“Didn’t lie? You said you liked me—and you’re a girl!” Yiwen flipped Mi Xiaoliu over, gripping her ponytail as they faced each other. “I believed you. I liked you. I shared my hobbies with you, changed our names to a couple’s set, even planned our whole summer together—”
Her voice cracked, thick with hurt.
“I like Yiwen too,” Mi Xiaoliu repeated.
She wasn’t lying.
Seeing that little b*tch face wear Mi Xiaoliu’s expression was… oddly endearing.
Yiwen wavered slightly.
Her grip loosened. “Don’t joke. You’re a girl too. Are you gay? I’d never have guessed—you’re a criminal.”
By now, the governor had almost vanished from Mi Xiaoliu’s monochrome vision.
Spankings felt imminent.
So the second Yiwen eased up, Mi Xiaoliu wriggled free—small frame an advantage—and bolted after the governor.
There were powerful LV3s like Yiwen, but these officers weren’t them. No LV4s remained, Wei Shi had crippled or stalled them all.
No matter how influential, no matter if he held lives in his hands—without protection, the governor was just a fragile old man.
Mi Xiaoliu glanced back at Yiwen, pausing briefly.
“Master, don’t forget—Papa Wei Shi’s fighting for this old man,” Sasha reminded.
“Mm.”
Yiwen’s fists clenched, trembling as she watched Mi Xiaoliu run.
For a moment, she’d believed that little liar.
Chase?
Yes.
She’d pummel this b*tch to death!
—
“Cough—!”
On the broken bridge’s far end, Wei Shi spat blood—chunks of organ mixed in—wiping his mouth as he stared at the starless sky.
Tomorrow will be overcast.
Over. The whole ordeal had lasted barely an hour. Three LV4s crippled, yet the governor lived.
Black Element was weird. Even his inhuman evolution couldn’t shrug off its effects.
The reinforcements hadn’t just been those two old fossils. Snipers lurked in the shadows, aiming for his wounds.
Escaping those veterans was miraculous. Even Speed Force aged.
With his scales shed, he looked like an ordinary middle-aged man. His real face? Who knows.
Drowsiness crept in. His eyelids slid shut—
—until footsteps rasped nearby.
Forcing his eyes open, he found his most hated enemy dumped at his feet. The delicate girl crouched before him, offering an apple like before.
Wei Shi took it, biting down with newly regrown teeth, leaving bloody marks.
He’d never expected Mi Xiaoliu to actually bring the governor. Just like he never expected her to perform normally on missions.
This time, he’d just wanted her far away—yet here she was, delivering his revenge.
When Mi Xiaoliu tried feeding him more, he pushed her off.
“Go back,” he said coldly. “Find Hermit. Take the back roads. No allowance.”
Mi Xiaoliu pouted, unmoving.
“How’s my nephew?” The governor, even now, worried about Liu Longfei.
Wei Shi didn’t answer. He drew his pistol—useless until now—and racked the slide.
The click was terrifying.
“9mm rounds. 2 mira each. Homemade—0.1 mira in materials. Cheaper than fake beggars’ alms.” He pressed the barrel to the governor’s forehead.
Instinctively, the governor flinched—but where could he hide?
0.1 mira or 0.3? Both were pennies—yet enough to end him.
“I’m… sorry,” the governor whispered, kneeling. “This is the only thing I’ve ever regretted. I’ll give everything to make it right… My grandson’s due soon. Please—I haven’t even held him.”
Adults were fickle—especially in changing faces.
Wei Shi fired. The governor jerked, expecting death—
—only for a rubber bullet to bounce off his forehead. He collapsed, sobbing.
“The first round is fake. The second one is real. Begging for your last words? Exactly how I imagined this.”
He fired again.
The governor’s skull punctured, brain matter spattering the bridge.
Only after tasting fear did he earn death.
Now it is truly over.
Staring at the gun and the corpse, Wei Shi felt nothing. Years of hatred ended so simply—making the buildup seem absurd.
“Turn around,” he told Mi Xiaoliu.
She obeyed.
Wei Shi emptied the magazine into the body, reloaded, and emptied it again. Three mira spent on overkill.
Another bloody cough. He nudged Mi Xiaoliu’s offering aside, smirking at the bridge’s wreckage. “Granny. Weren’t you stopping me?”
At least she could’ve blocked Mi Xiaoliu.
“Too old to run. The doctor said one more speed boost and I’m dead. I’m not attending my own funeral yet.” The old woman hobbled out on a quad-cane, smiling at Mi Xiaoliu. “Just wanted to see the herb-making Black-Clothed One. Such a pretty girl, forced into crime… You’re dying, aren’t you?”
“The grandma who sells steamed buns?!” Sasha gasped in disbelief.
