Little Red posed this question to Xia Yi.
In her eyes, this was extremely strange. Given the prideful nature of the dragon race, how could one possibly devote themselves so recklessly for the sake of the fox clan?

“If Fox-radish dies, then I won’t have any other little fox left to bully,” Xia Yi replied. “Bullying Fox-radish is genuinely fun. Other little foxes just don’t feel the same.”
“What?! You wretched silver dragon, so you’re all the same! Your personalities are utterly terrible, always bullying others!!”
Little Red instantly bristled with anger upon hearing Xia Yi’s words. However, since she had no combat ability whatsoever, her furious display wasn’t intimidating at all, instead, it came across as somewhat adorable, making one want to grab her and rub her thoroughly.
For example, pulling her into one’s arms and vigorously fluffing her tails…
“Alright, alright, stop messing around. Hurry up and take me to Fox-radish, let’s go find that so-called evil manifestation!”
Xia Yi walked over and picked Little Red up again.
“Put this god down at once! You are desecrating the supreme Fox God!” Little Red shouted. “This god will bring down a dreadful divine punishment upon you and condemn you to endless reincarnation!”
“Little Red, how about this, later I’ll make you something tasty. Not just grilled fish, but also fried tofu pouches. What do you think?” Xia Yi proposed.
From what she had learned at Fox Hill, the Fox God seemed quite fond of fried tofu.
“Fried tofu?!”
Clearly, those three words were irresistibly tempting, Little Red immediately stopped struggling.
“Are you telling the truth?”
“Of course.”
“Very well. Then for the sake of fried tofu, this god shall take you to the evil manifestation. But if you dare deceive this god…”
“I know, divine punishment, right?”
“Good that you understand!” Little Red’s nine tails swayed twice.
Xia Yi placed Little Red on top of her head and began moving forward in the direction indicated by the small red nine-tailed fox.
“…Is this really reliable?” Xia Yi muttered.

“Well, your identity is pretty suspicious. You claim to be the Red Fox God, yet you don’t have any power at all.”
Xia Yi thought of Elizabeth, that troublesome woman who also claimed to be a god of the vampire race, yet had far more presence than Little Red.
“Aren’t gods usually supposed to have a divine halo? Why don’t you have one?”
“Th-that… It’s a long story. B-but this god truly is the Fox God!!”
“Sounds like you’re feeling guilty.”
“I am not guilty! It’s just that my current condition… has some issues!” Little Red protested indignantly. “Do you know the Azure Fox God?”
Of course Xia Yi knew the deity worshipped by the White Night Cult. Not long ago, she had even fought against the lingering resentment of the Azure Fox God.
“What is your relationship with the Azure Fox God? You’re enemies, right?”
“We are enemies… but also… sisters.”
“Sisters?!”
“We were born of the same mother. Our divine power both originated from her. When we were young, we were very close.”
“But later, you became enemies, didn’t you?”
“We originally intended to rule Fox Hill together and rescue the fox clan from its संकट. However, there was one problem, we were not strong enough. Our divine power came from our mother, which meant that the power she was meant to pass on had been split into two halves, given separately to me and to the Azure Fox.”

Xia Yi could already guess how the Red Fox and Azure Fox had become enemies.
“Just as you suspect. The Azure Fox and I fought over that divine power, to determine which one of us would become the god capable of saving the fox clan. In the end, I won. She lost. I took her divine power, I took everything from her.”
Little Red’s expression became complicated.
They had once been close sisters, yet under the hand of fate, they had arrived at such an outcome.
“I should have killed her back then. But at the very end, I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I deliberately let her go. As for where she went afterward, I never pursued the matter. After all, having lost nearly all her divine power, she could no longer stir up any real trouble…”
“But I still don’t quite understand, what does this have to do with your current inability to use your power?” Xia Yi pressed further.
She needed to clearly understand the relationship between the Red Fox God and the evil manifestation. Only with accurate information could she act correctly.
“It has everything to do with it. After absorbing the Azure Fox’s divine power, I also took in her negative emotions, jealousy, hatred, irritability… all of it severely affected me. “I could not kill myself. Even that evil incarnation is still a part of me, we share life and death. I believed that if I died, the evil incarnation would perish as well. But I underestimated it.
