Plunged into confusion, Xia Yi posed soul-searching questions to the cat before her.
“Answer me, kitty!”
The black cat sprawled on her lap, opened its mouth and let out a yawn.
“Mew~~~”
This plump, lazy cat closed its eyes, preparing to snooze.
“You’re practically a chubby cat already! Why do you still just eat, sleep, eat, sleep all day long? What is the purpose of your feline existence?!”
Xia Yi lifted the cat up.
The cat’s body stretched out limply. Faced with Xia Yi’s interrogation, it maintained a “couldn’t-care-less” attitude, unmoved.
“Sigh~”
Xia Yi sighed.
Although she had promised her old companion to demonstrate her noble, unyielding Holy Sword soul, to challenge her mortal enemy, the Silver Dragon Queen Xia Lulu, once more, and utterly defeat this foe with whom she had an irreconcilable enmity…
Achieving this goal itself was a monumental challenge.
First, Xia Yi was in the Dragon Royal Palace. The entire palace was filled with Xia Lulu’s people. What could she use to fight?
If she asked Serra to help her against Xia Lulu, she might just turn around and secretly report to Xia Lulu, selling her out!
After all, the Royal Maid Corps was under Xia Lulu’s control.
All substantive authority lay in the hands of the Silver Dragon Queen. She currently had nothing, no connections.
Maybe she could utilize the trainee little maid from the Royal Maid Corps?
But Elly was always a bit silly and clumsy, not of much use.
The only person she could rely on was herself.
And that was precisely the problem. Xia Yi had challenged Xia Lulu several times already, and not once had she succeeded.

Why could the cat slack off, but she couldn’t just give up?

The cat remained utterly dismissive. Even under Xia Yi’s command, it showed no intention of exercising.
Xia Yi was speechless.
Maybe she should just give up completely like the cat, since she couldn’t beat Xia Lulu anyway…
“No! I am the resolute and unyielding Sword Saint! How can I give up so easily here?!”
Xia Yi quickly shook her head, trying to fling the thought away.

“Is there really… no one who can help me…?”
Suddenly, a figure came to the little princess’s mind.

She almost forgot. There was one reliable helper.
She put the slacking cat down and ran to the small stream in the back garden, looking at her reflection in the water.

“Alright, alright, stop shouting!”
Xia Yi’s reflection changed, showing an annoyed expression.
This was her Inner Demon of the Heart.
“Xia Yi, you kept calling me. Is something the matter?” the Inner Demon Xia Yi asked.
“Inner Demon, I need your help.”
“Help?”
“I want to challenge Xia Lulu.”
“…Huh?”
Inner Demon Xia Yi’s cheek twitched, wearing an expression that said, “Are you freaking kidding me?”
“Are you serious?”
“Xia Lulu is my mortal enemy. I must defeat her, surpass her!” Xia Yi clenched her fist. “This is the obsession of me, the Sword Saint! Where I fall, I will rise again! I will never yield easily to failure!”
“What Sword Saint obsession? You don’t resemble a Sword Saint at all now. You’ve clearly degenerated into a Dragon Princess.”
“N-no, I haven’t! Don’t spout nonsense! My noble, unyielding Sword Saint soul hasn’t changed one bit!”

How could Inner Demon Xia Yi forget?
Last time, Xia Lulu hung her up and beat her, making her rear blossom with pain.
To be a demon of extreme wickedness, yet educated like that… it was humiliation upon humiliation!
“I thought you still had some courage left. Did one failure make you like this?” Xia Yi sighed. “My Inner Demon of the Heart is truly a coward.”
“What did you say? Xia Yi, take that back! In this world, only you are not allowed to look down on me! Don’t think I won’t act right now, erase your soul, and seize your body!”
Inner Demon Xia Yi grew frantic.
She already disliked Xia Yi, being mocked on top of that was unbearable.

“Hmph. Fine. After we deal with that troublesome woman, I’ll come for you, Xia Yi!”
Inner Demon Xia Yi, unusually, reached a consensus with Xia Yi.
“However, there’s a problem now, what method should we use to defeat Xia Lulu? We can’t just charge head-on, right?” Xia Yi said. “We tried that several times before, but all failed.”
“I have a method…”
Inner Demon Xia Yi voiced her thoughts.
