“Was I just… dreaming?”
Xia Yi pressed a hand to her forehead and muttered softly.
“Or was that… not a dream?”
“A dream?” Inner Demon Xia Yi asked curiously. “Xia Yi, what are you talking about? After you touched that pocket watch, you started acting really strange. You didn’t say a word before collapsing, I thought something serious had happened.”
“Inner Demon… I think I went to a mysterious world. There was a silver dragon there who looked a bit like me and said some very strange things.”
Xia Yi only remembered that the person was a white-haired, flat-chested loli.
“A mysterious world? A silver dragon?” Inner Demon Xia Yi frowned. “What are you talking about? Are there even any other silver dragonkin left in the Dragon Kingdom now?”
“Probably not. They’re all dead.”
Xia Yi remembered that there had once been other silver dragonkin, but they refused to submit to Xia Lulu and chose rebellion instead. They were all dealt with.
Now, in the Dragon Kingdom, only Xia Lulu and herself remained as silver dragons.
“Inner Demon, when I touched the pocket watch, the hands moved forward, and then I was sucked away,” Xia Yi said. “You should have seen that, right?”
“The hands never moved at all. They were frozen the whole time.”
Inner Demon Xia Yi pointed at the pocket watch.
“After you touched it, nothing happened. You just passed out.”
Xia Yi followed her gaze and realized that this was indeed the case. The shattered pocket watch remained completely motionless, unchanged.
She stood up and raised her hand, trying to touch it again.
But this time,
Nothing happened at all.
The broken pocket watch was firmly fixed in place, as if it had fused with the surrounding space itself. No amount of force could budge it.
“Looks like… it really was just a dream,” Xia Yi said.
“Alright, enough about that. You’ve been lying here for so long, the ten minutes have been over for ages now.”
“What?!”
Realizing this, Xia Yi’s expression changed drastically. She hoisted the bag containing the Sky-Blue Spirit Wood onto her shoulder and sprinted toward the exit.
“Inner Demon, why did you just stand there watching instead of taking control of my body while I was unconscious?”
“Idiot Xia Yi. You’re the one holding control of the body, how am I supposed to take over?” Inner Demon Xia Yi snapped irritably.
“This is bad!! Why didn’t Cabbage warn us? The time was already up!!”
“Now that you mention it, yeah. The time was clearly over, why didn’t that idiot maid use the magic gadget you gave her to alert us?”
“Damn it, Cabbage really dropped the ball at the most critical moment! If the plan failed, I’d definitely make her pay for it!”
Inside the Dragon Treasury, Xia Yi moved quickly and soon reached the exit.
“Your Highness Glutinous Rice Ball, y-you’re finally out!!”
When Elly saw Xia Yi, tears nearly burst from her eyes. It was obvious she had been both anxious and panicked.
Xia Yi really wanted to settle accounts with Elly right then, but lingering here any longer would only invite trouble. If they were discovered, things would spiral out of control.
At top speed, she extinguished the spell inscriptions on the sealing magic array of the Dragon Treasury, and the massive doors closed once more.
“Let’s go!”
Xia Yi led Elly away from the Dragon Treasury. Their figures quickly vanished from the area, as if nothing had happened at all.

“Huff… huff… that scared me to death… Your Highness Glutinous Rice Ball, I really thought today was the end…”
Elly collapsed onto the grass, wiping the fine beads of sweat from her forehead and letting out a long breath, as if she had narrowly escaped disaster.
“Thank goodness… my head, and my entire family line, are safe…”
“Elly!”
“Eh, P-Princess, w-what is it?!”
Hearing Xia Yi call her name in such an extremely displeased tone, Elly immediately jumped to her feet.
“Elly, have you already forgotten what I told you to do?”
Xia Yi planted her hands on her hips and glared at Elly angrily.
“O-Of course I remember! Your Highness told me to… stand watch, and to notify you if anything urgent happened…”
Elly lowered her head, nervously fiddling with her fingers and not daring to meet Xia Yi’s eyes.
“Then why didn’t you notify me? I stayed there for ages, the ten minutes were long past!” Xia Yi demanded.
“I did notify you…”
“You did?”
“I-I really did!” Elly nodded repeatedly.
Xia Yi narrowed her eyes. “Elly, when did you become such a dishonest child? You’ve even learned to lie right to my face!”
“No, really not! Princess, look, I really did notify you!”
Elly took out the communication magic gadget.
When Xia Yi saw the device in Elly’s hand, clearly crushed and broken, her blood pressure shot up. She felt so angry she almost laughed.
“I seriously can’t believe this, Elly. You even managed to break that?”
“I was a bit nervous at the time, so I pressed it… just a little too hard…”
“This counts as ‘a little’?”
Xia Yi sighed deeply.
“Forget it. As long as nothing happens, that’s what matters.”
“Princess, I also thought something bad was going to happen. I even saw the next shift of treasury guards heading toward the main gate.”
“Oh?” Xia Yi raised an eyebrow. “But we didn’t see any guards when we were retreating.”
“I panicked at the time and was already planning to knock them out one by one, but then someone showed up.”
“Who?”
“Senior Atiya!” Elly explained. “She went to the Dragon Treasury guards and said her pet had run off nearby and gone missing, asking them to help look for it. She managed to lure the guards away for a while.”
“It was actually that big-brain?” Xia Yi said in surprise. “But the treasury guards really agreed to help?”
“The pet Senior Atiya keeps seems to be quite dangerous. If it wasn’t found, something bad might happen… The guards had no choice but to spare some time to search.”
“I see.”
Xia Yi acknowledged this. Although an unexpected incident delayed her stay in the treasury, her luck wasn’t bad. That scatterbrained Atiya actually helped her in such an unforeseen way.
“Alright, Elly, we should head back, ”
Before Xia Yi could finish her sentence, a rustling sound came from the nearby bushes.
Then a huge orange cat, no, wait, a large tiger poked its head out of the grass and appeared in front of Xia Yi and Elly.
The sudden sight startled both of them.
Xia Yi was already about to summon the Rose Staff to give the tiger a dose of physical magic, when another voice rang out.
“Big cat! I finally caught up to you, sit down right now!”
The blue dragon maid leapt forward, throwing a punch midair and smashing it squarely onto the tiger’s head.
The tiger stuck out its tongue, rolled its eyes back, and instantly passed out.
“Eh?” Atiya noticed Xia Yi and Elly hiding there and showed a surprised expression.
“…”
“…”
Xia Yi and Elly both froze, utterly dumbfounded.
It was over. There was no explaining this now, their secret nighttime infiltration of the Dragon Treasury was about to be exposed!!
Atiya widened her eyes. “Princess, and junior Elly… why are you here so late at night? Could it be that you…?”
