Volume 4 Chapter 95
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 95: Long Time No See
The rebel army found themselves inside a massive magical barrier.
The barrier blocked the blizzard outside, creating a safe zone within.
Both Scott and Leonard were astonished. Creating such an immense magical barrier was impossible without a colossal amount of magical power.
Just as they were wondering who could have done this…
“Wait, what is that?!”
Everyone shifted their gaze and spotted a bizarre figure.
It was a knight clad entirely in pitch-black armor. Judging by appearance alone, it was impossible to tell who this was.
The only certainty was that this clearly was not a dragon.
The Black Knight stood as still as a solidified statue, unmoving, head bowed.
Scott and Leonard exchanged a glance.
“Scott, do you know what this is?” Leonard asked.
“I’ve never seen it before. What about you?” Scott shook his head.
“Strange. This is my first time seeing it too. Never heard of a black knight in the Far North Lands before.”
Leonard couldn’t figure it out.
“Forget this weird thing. Find the Silver Dragon Princess first! This might just be an attempt to intimidate us with mystical nonsense!”
Scott gave orders to his subordinates.
“Advance! Even if you have to dig three feet into the ground, find the Silver Dragon Princess!!”
The dragons present felt varying degrees of unease, but they still obeyed the command.
“Such theatrics! Don’t think we’ll be afraid of something like this!!”
One of the rebel soldiers charged first. He wanted to steal the spotlight before others, intending to simply crush the Black Knight.
Others reacted and rushed forward as well. No one wanted to miss this chance, perhaps they could even claim a reward from their leader later.
However, upon advancing and getting within a certain range of the Black Knight, its rigid body moved, as if awakening from slumber.
The Black Knight’s armor also changed. Originally pure black, crimson-red patterns now surfaced upon it, emitting a faint glow.
The interweaving of black and crimson created a powerful visual impact that amplified the unease in everyone’s hearts.
Perhaps driven by biological instinct, the dragonkin at the forefront stopped. Their bodies trembled slightly.
They sensed no ordinary life force from the Black Knight. This seemed to be… a summoned entity?
“What are you afraid of? A bunch of cowards, actually intimidated by a summoned creature?!” Leonard roared from behind.
This was utterly disgraceful.
The Northern Rebellion Army, composed of the most vicious criminals, had dominated the Far North for so many years. With absolute numerical superiority, they were actually feeling fear facing a single summoned entity?
They’d become a laughingstock if this got out.
“Crush this summoned creature! Find the Silver Dragon Princess! Don’t stop here!”
To boost morale, Leonard’s adjutant led by example. He unleashed his true dragon form and soared into the air.
He flew to a certain height, then dove down like a bomber.
“ROOOOOOOAAAAAAAAARRRRRR!!!”
The Black Knight unleashed a bestial roar that shook the air, seemingly drowning out all other sounds in the world.
The patterns on its black armor spread out like out-of-control, chaotic shapes resembling blood vessels. Along with this came an explosion of fighting spirit akin to a volcano.
Black fighting spirit erupted from the Black Knight’s body, surging violently in all directions.
BOOM!!!
After a deafening blast, the ground shattered from the force’s backlash. A black-and-crimson figure shot towards the sky, becoming a blurry streak.
It was the Black Knight launching an attack at Leonard’s adjutant!
“What?!” Leonard’s adjutant wore an expression of utter shock.
He felt as if the surrounding air currents were being manipulated by the Black Knight, continuously squeezing him like a cage, trapping him.
The Black Knight’s gauntlet reached behind its own back, as if pulling out its own spine. It pulled a massive black greatsword from its body. Faint red light, resembling blood, splattered in mid-air.
This was the last sight the adjutant saw in his life, the knight, like a frenzied beast, swung the black greatsword, piercing through dragon scales, stabbing into the dragon heart. The fighting spirit clenched like a giant’s grip, crushing the heart.
THUD!
Leonard’s adjutant fell from the sky onto the ground, his final expression frozen in terror, eyes wide open, lifeless.
Scalding dragon blood splattered over the perpetrator. The high temperature attempted to corrode the armor, creating steam that distorted the Black Knight’s figure, making it appear even more menacing.
“…”
A deathly silence spread among the rebels.
Instant… instant kill?
What kind of terrifying monster was this?!
“GRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!”
The Black Knight, clearly unsatisfied, leaped into the midst of the rebels like a cannonball. Swinging its black greatsword, it struck the ground. The erupting fighting spirit acted like a meat grinder, instantly turning rebel soldiers into chunks of flesh.
Scott was scared witless.
“Do not panic! Counterattack!!”
Leonard, after all, was experienced in battle. He reacted immediately, organizing his soldiers to resist the Black Knight.
In terms of single combat, the Black Knight was indeed powerful, surpassing the dragonkin here in both strength and realm.
However, the Black Knight was alone.
The Northern Rebellion Army had so many dragons. With numerical superiority, they couldn’t lose.
Under Leonard’s command, dragons at the front engaged the Black Knight in close combat, while those behind created distance, gathering dragon breath in their mouths.
Using this kiting tactic, victory should be easy—
“Ice Chains!”
Ice chains suddenly flew from afar, binding the mouths of those gathering dragon breath. Before the breath could be released, it detonated within the rebels’ own mouths, injuring them.
“Who did that?!”
Leonard turned his head and saw the silver-haired loli appearing in the distance. Magical light swirled in her hands, as if she was controlling something.
It was the Silver Dragon Princess, Xia Yi · Christie!
The magical attack just now was her doing.
Besides her, there was also a silver dragon, along with the surviving troops of the Northern Pacification Army who had followed.
“No! Why are there two silver dragons?!” Scott said in disbelief.
“Two? Open your eyes wide and look properly! Who am I?!”
The silver dragon sneered. The silver color faded from its body, revealing the original green skin beneath.
This was… a Green Dragon!
So, from the very beginning, the “Silver Dragon Princess” was her maid, Elly, in disguise.
“Silver Dragon Princess, Xia Yi · Christie, has been waiting for you two for quite some time. Do you feel… surprised?” Xia Yi smiled.
