    Volume 4 + Chapter 81: Northern Clinic

At the moment, Xia Yi seemed to be experiencing severe mental issues. No matter how much Elly called out to her, there was no response—Xia Yi just kept sprinting wildly through the blizzard.

Left with no other choice, Elly released her true dragon form, transforming into a massive green dragon.

She couldn’t just stand by and watch Xia Yi continue to run amok like this—it was bound to lead to disaster.

She was going to take forceful action.

“Your Highness, please stop! Don’t charge ahead anymore!” Elly called out as she steadily closed in on Xia Yi.

But just then, she noticed a startling change taking place on Xia Yi’s body.

A murky black shadow spread out from under Xia Yi’s feet, continuously expanding in all directions and corroding the snow-covered ground as it advanced.

This didn’t seem like any ordinary magic. The murky shadow resembled something born from the abyss, carrying an unsettling aura that triggered an almost instinctive revulsion in Elly.

Elly couldn’t understand at all why such a change was occurring on Xia Yi’s body.

    “Huh…?!”

While flying, Elly accidentally brushed against the murky shadow. She felt as though her strength had been completely drained, causing her to plummet from mid-air and fall into the shadowy expanse.

Her body began to sink slowly, as if trapped in quicksand. Her consciousness gradually blurred, and within the murky shadow, she was unable to struggle—utterly helpless, like fish on a chopping block, at the mercy of others.

    “Ah…”

After letting out one final cry of distress, Elly vanished, swallowed up entirely.

    ……

“Doctor! Doctor, there’s someone here! Come quickly!”

    “……”

“Doctor, she doesn’t seem to be dead. Should we take her back for treatment?”

    “……”

“I think she can still be saved.”

Xia Yi faintly heard voices conversing.

In her current poor mental state, she couldn’t comprehend what they were saying at all. Acting purely on instinct, she reached out, trying to grasp something, before darkness once again engulfed her vision.

    ……

Xia Yi opened her eyes to an unfamiliar ceiling.

    “Huh… where is this?”

    “Woof!”

    “Woof!”

    “Awoo!”

The silver-haired little girl realized she was lying in bed. As soon as she sat up, before she could even confirm her whereabouts, she was surrounded by fluffy creatures.

Beside her were three large dogs—none other than the three sled dog generals: Alaska, Samoyed, and Husky.

“You… you’re not dead?!” Xia Yi exclaimed in surprise. “Or… have I already gone to heaven?”

In her memory, the three sled dog generals had been captured by the leader of the Northern Rebellion Army and thrown to their deaths.

But the three large dogs affectionately licked Xia Yi with their tongues—the sensation and warmth felt all too real.

She was still alive, and the three sled dog generals were alive too!

“Wahhh! Your Highness, please don’t swallow me! I’m going to be digested by you!!”

Suddenly, Xia Yi heard a familiar voice. She looked over and saw it was Elly.

Elly was lying on a bed not far from her, seemingly having a nightmare as she muttered strange things in her sleep.

What kind of dream did this little maid have? Why would she dream about me eating her?

    Xia Yi wondered to herself.

It seemed someone must have found and rescued both her and Elly.

Otherwise, there would have been no chance of survival if they had remained lying in that blizzard.

    “Oh, you’re awake?”

The door to the room opened, and someone walked in.

It was a female dragon with a youthful appearance, dressed much like a nurse. Upon seeing Xia Yi, she showed a look of curiosity, her eyes gleaming as if she had spotted a rare animal.

“This is my first time seeing a Silver Dragon! Your hair isn’t dyed, is it?”

“My hair is… natural,” Xia Yi replied.

“It’s truly beautiful! Even your eyes are silver,” the little nurse grew even more curious. “To think you’re of the same clan as Her Majesty the Queen who rules our country… Could it be… you’re the Silver Dragon Princess?”

    “……”

“Ah, sorry, sorry! I got a bit carried away. Ahem.”

The little nurse coughed twice, adjusting her demeanor.

“I forgot to introduce myself. I’m a nurse working at the Northern Clinic. You can call me Sheryl.”

“Hello, Sheryl. My name is Xia Yi. I suppose it was you who rescued me and my maid from the blizzard?” Xia Yi smiled. “Thank you.”

“Oh, it wasn’t just me! The doctor helped too. I’m only the doctor’s assistant!”

    “The doctor?”

Xia Yi became somewhat concerned because, according to what Xia Lulu had said, the person she was supposed to find was a doctor in the Far North Lands.

“He’s the chief physician at our Northern Clinic! Right now, there is only the doctor and me at the clinic,” Sheryl explained.

“I see… But how did you find me?”

“It was because of the Northern Mining Field,” Sheryl elaborated. “People from the Northern Mining Field were attacked by the Northern Rebellion Army and got lost in the snowstorm, putting them in danger. So, the Northern Mining Field mobilized many people to search for the lost individuals and offered a quite substantial reward. After receiving the notice, the doctor and I set out to search. We were lucky and actually found the two of you.”

    “That’s incredible.”

“Yes, it really was like a miracle. By the time we found you, the blizzard had already stopped. The two of you seemed to have just lost consciousness and were sleeping in the snow. So, the doctor and I brought you both back to the clinic as quickly as possible. Also, the doctor provided treatment for those three alchemical creatures as well.”

“You didn’t encounter any terrifying giant beasts?”

“Giant beasts? Miss Xia Yi, what are you talking about?”

“A giant beast that looked like a fly!”

“We didn’t encounter any magical beasts on our journey, let alone any giant beasts,” Sheryl shook her head.

    “How could that be?”

    Xia Yi frowned deeply.

She remembered those events clearly—she had been targeted by a mysterious giant beast, failed to escape, and was ultimately devoured.

“What about the black shadow that corroded the snow?”

    “I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”

Sheryl looked genuinely puzzled, and her expression didn’t seem like she was lying.

“It was probably because you were overly stressed at the time, leading to a nightmare that you mistook for reality.”

    “……”

Xia Yi lowered her head, falling into silence.

Was it really… just a nightmare?

Just as she was about to inquire further for details, a knocking sound echoed through the room.

Someone stood at the doorway, knocking on the room’s door, as if reminding those inside of their return.

“Doctor, you’re back!” Sheryl turned around, a smile spreading across her face.

This must be the doctor of the Northern Clinic.

Xia Yi was curious about what kind of person this was. Could it be the person Xia Lulu hoped she would find?

But when her gaze fell upon the doctor, she couldn’t help but freeze, this person was far too peculiar!
