Volume 4 Chapter 62
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 62: Blood Dominion
Crimson Empire, Vampire Clan Royal Palace.
“Come here!!”
Vampire Clan Princess Flora dragged a trussed-up noble, shoving him forward, and brought him into the hall.
At this moment, the one who had successfully been crowned the new Vampire Queen, Miu Miu Borgia… or rather, it should be said, the Vampire Ancestor Elizabeth, sat upon the Vampire Clan throne, legs crossed, looking down at the noble below with a playful expression.
“Your Majesty, this person is Morton, the Vice-Chairman of the Elders’ Council.”
Flora respectfully bowed towards Elizabeth, half-kneeling on the ground, displaying her loyalty to the highest degree as she made her report.
At Elizabeth’s request, until the Vampire Ancestor chose to publicly reveal her identity, she was still to be addressed as ‘Your Majesty’ on formal occasions.
“After learning that the Chairman of the Elders’ Council was executed at the corokingdom ceremony for offending Your Majesty, Morton harbored thoughts of treason. He was preparing to raise troops in the south but was intercepted by us mid-journey and promptly captured and brought here.”
“Well done, Lady Flora,” Elizabeth chuckled softly. “I shall remember your efforts.”
“Your Majesty, offering my loyalty to you is only right and proper.” Flora lowered her head.
“Hmph, Flora, now you truly resemble an obedient dog!”
Though bound head to foot, Morton still straightened his back, refusing to lower his head, his gaze filled with contempt.
“How remarkable that you, possessing noble Vampire Clan heritage, would so debase yourself!”
“Morton, you shall not disrespect Her Majesty!”
Flora glared at the Vice-Chairman of the Elders’ Council, about to erupt, but Elizabeth raised a hand, signaling for her to be silent.
“Miu Miu Borgia, will you not unbind me?”
Morton spoke with full confidence, showing no trace of fear.
“If you can grant me sufficient respect, we can have a talk.”
“Mr. Morton’s temperament is truly impressive,” Elizabeth said with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile. “If it were anyone else, they might have long been scared witless, wetting themselves and begging for mercy. Yet I can sense your lack of fear stems from having a trump card, doesn’t it?”
“And why shouldn’t it?”
“Then I am indeed somewhat curious.”
Elizabeth snapped her fingers. The ropes binding Morton were severed and fell away.
“So, can we negotiate now, Mr. Morton?”
Morton raised his eyes, looking at this young, petite Vampire Queen. He felt a bitter taste in his heart. Had Herman lost his mind, actually handing over the throne to such a childish figure…
She looked like a child pretending to be an adult, full of make-believe!
However, some time had passed since the corokingdom ceremony, and the entire kingdom already knew of it. What’s done is done. Opposing her rule now, demanding her abdication, would be difficult to justify for the time being.
“Since you are now the Vampire Queen, then, on behalf of the Elders’ Council, I shall address you as the Vampire Queen!”
“Is the Elders’ Council prepared to recognize me now?”
“The Elders’ Council can offer you support, on one condition: guarantee the future rights of us nobles.”
“Oh?”
“It’s a simple request, just as it was during Lord Herman’s reign.”
Morton narrowed his eyes, his tone carrying a hint of threat.
“As long as our nobles’ rights remain unshaken, we can guarantee internal stability within the Crimson Empire, assisting Your Majesty’s rule to be long-lasting and peaceful!”
This was Morton’s confidence. Behind him stood the countless nobles of the Crimson Empire, and the commoners controlled by these nobles.
If the Vampire Queen refused, the nobles could unite, coerce the commoners, and together wage war against the royal family, spreading the flames of war throughout the entire kingdom.
Prolonged civil strife would inevitably lead to mutual destruction, and foreign races might even take the opportunity to attack the Vampire Clan…
But the nobles didn’t care about that!
The future fate of the kingdom and the race were merely bargaining chips to be exchanged for benefits in this game.
He was certain that this young, inexperienced Vampire Queen wouldn’t dare play this game of mutual destruction with him, she lacked that kind of nerve.
“Mr. Morton, do you know how the previous Chairman of the Elders’ Council died?” Elizabeth asked.
“Of course I know. He opposed Your Majesty’s succession to the throne, didn’t he? But our current Elders’ Council doesn’t think that way. We are willing to offer you support, not like him, we merely seek respect.”
“And if I were to refuse, what would happen…”
“Your Majesty, if I do not return safely from the Vampire Clan palace to the south, arrangements have already been made. A new leader will then emerge, uniting everyone together.”
Morton’s implication was already clear.
“I am helping you, Your Majesty. Surely, you don’t want war to engulf the kingdom just after your accession? Foreign races are watching eagerly. I hear you’ve recently offended the Dragon Clan…”
“Mr. Morton, are you threatening me?”
“Of course not, Your Majesty. I am merely reminding you, children distinguish between right and wrong, adults discuss gains and losses.”
Morton gave a slight bow, offering both respect and an opportunity.
With this combination of moves, the Vampire Queen had no reason not to accept.
“Mr. Morton is very clever, much more so than the Chairman of the Elders’ Council. It seems I truly have no reason to refuse.”
“You are very sensible.”
“However, it’s a pity. I detest being threatened most of all. This feeling displeases me from the bottom of my heart,” Elizabeth stood up. “If you had entered the hall from the start, knelt and submitted, your outcome would have been completely different.”
“Haha, so you truly do not fear invasion from foreign races?”
“Mr. Morton, it seems I indeed have not refused you. But there is one thing… you absolutely failed to anticipate, the absolute suppression of bloodline.”
Elizabeth waved her hand.
From the ground, blood spears sprouted like bamboo shoots, piercing through Morton’s body.
“It’s… it’s useless! Killing me is just futile rage! My descendants will inherit my will and wage war against the royal family!” Morton shouted.
“Blood Dominion.”
Elizabeth allowed her blood to flow through the blood spears, eroding into Morton’s body.
For ordinary Vampire Clan members, the Vampire Ancestor’s bloodline suppression is absolute, even a princess with royal bloodline is no exception.
By eroding and dominating Morton this way, rewriting his memories, this Vice-Chairman of the Elders’ Council would become her servant.
“Ah… Ah…!!”
Morton’s gaze gradually grew unfocused, losing its luster.
Once the domination was complete, Elizabeth withdrew the blood spears, and Morton fell to the ground.
His expression towards Elizabeth had completely changed, now displaying loyalty and submission as he knelt.
“Your Majesty… no, Ancestor! Please forgive this lowly one’s ignorance and foolishness for daring to oppose you! I beg you to punish my crime!”
Elizabeth smiled. “Punishment is unnecessary. I grant you permission to atone for your crime through service, Mr. Morton. Return to the south as you are.”
“Thank you, Ancestor! I will certainly dismantle the Elders’ Council from within, resolving this thorn in your side!” Morton replied with fanaticism.
Princess Flora, witnessing this scene from the side, felt both awe and fear. If the Ancestor wished to dominate her as well, it would likely be effortless.
Indeed, understanding the times and adapting is the wisest choice.
“Alright, Lady Flora, see Mr. Morton off properly. Later, you can discuss in detail how to deal with the Elders’ Council together…” Elizabeth ordered.
“As you command, Ancestor.”
Flora accepted the order and left with Morton.
“Ah, in the past, mere pressure would have sufficed for domination. Now, blood contact is required. It seems my current state is indeed not optimal. I really must get her…”
Elizabeth sat back down upon the Vampire Clan throne. As the hall returned to silence, she closed her eyes, allowing her consciousness to sink.
Now, she absolutely needed to see someone…
…
In Miu Miu’s mental world, a voice echoed.
“Hey~ Did you miss me?”
