Volume 4 Chapter 53
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 53: The Long-Awaited Moment
Elizabeth snapped her fingers.
“Divine Blood Magic: Song of the Whales.”
Xia Yi sensed that something was wrong, her opponent was definitely preparing to use some terrifying move. It would be best to create some distance.
Holding this thought, she was about to retreat when she heard an ethereal and sorrowful sound, like a song rising from the depths of the ocean.
“I can’t move…!?”
Xia Yi was shocked to discover that her body was frozen, unable to move amidst the mysterious song.
The melody seemed to transform into invisible shackles, preventing her from breaking free.
“Move!! MOVE!!”
Even though she tapped into the power of the Dragon Clan, she couldn’t break free from this forced control.
The disparity in their magical power levels was simply too vast.
This sound… could it be…
Xia Yi looked up and saw that the blood whales that had been surrounding the Vampire Progenitor had vanished, having stealthily submerged beneath the blood pool.
From beneath Elizabeth’s skirt, a torrent of crimson blood surged forth, causing the blood pool to expand rapidly like a tidal wave. In the blink of an eye, it covered the entire rose garden, transforming it into a sea of blood.
Within this sea of blood, undercurrents surged chaotically. A colossal entity gradually emerged from the surface, drawing closer to Xia Yi and revealing its form.
It was precisely the Blood Whale, conjured by Elizabeth and composed entirely of blood.
It breached the surface, its enormous shadow completely engulfing Xia Yi.
The difference in size between the dragon loli and the Blood Whale was absolute and utterly despair-inducing.
“Good luck, Xia Yiyi~ Do your best not to die, okay?” Elizabeth said with an anticipatory smile.
The whale opened its cavernous maw and swallowed Xia Yi whole.
“Ugh… Aah!”
Xia Yi felt herself being drawn into the Blood Whale and carried deep into the sea of blood.
The Blood Whale thrashed violently within the bloody sea, simultaneously assailing her with relentless Blood Impacts. Trapped inside the whale, these shocks attacked her from all angles without any blind spots, making evasion impossible.
If she weren’t a member of the Dragon Clan, she would have likely been instantly pulverized into bloody foam, becoming part of the Blood Whale itself.
Xia Yi’s vision began to blur, and her grip on the Holy Sword nearly faltered.
Memories flashed before her eyes like a revolving lantern.
No! I can’t give up!
In this most perilous of extremes, her Sword Saint’s heart reignited her fighting spirit!
Xia Yi’s eyes snapped open, and she grasped the Golden Key of the King’s Armor.
“King’s Armor!!”
She summoned the King’s Armor.
The golden armor enveloped the little princess’s petite frame, adhering to her body and radiating a brilliant light.
Xia Yi overloaded the output of the King’s Armor for defense.
Although this would drastically shorten the operational time from one hour, it was indeed effective. Not only did it successfully block the Blood Impacts, but the effect of the Whale Song was also significantly reduced, allowing her to regain her senses and control over her body.
Dammit, I’m going all out!!
Gritting her teeth, Xia Yi tightened her grip on the Holy Sword.
Truth be told, unleashing that earlier Holy Sword strike had already severely drained her. But the situation was critical, if she waited until the King’s Armor’s energy depleted, she would be doomed.
“Cleave a path, Holy Sword!!”
Just like before, Xia Yi gathered golden particles within the body of the Blood Whale and unleashed a fierce slash, once again giving rise to a golden torrent.
Golden light erupted from within the Blood Whale, tearing a massive gash in its form.
Seizing the opportunity before the whale’s wound could heal, Xia Yi charged out at top speed, escaping the sea of blood and seeing the light of day once more.
“Huff… huff…”
Clad in the King’s Armor, Xia Yi leaned on the Holy Sword plunged into the ground, kneeling on one knee, barely able to stay upright.
Firing two such powerful attacks in such a short time had practically drained her completely.
“My, oh my, Xia Yiyi, you continue to surprise me. To think you could survive even that?” Elizabeth expressed astonishment, yet also evident delight.
The Blood Whale rolled in the sea of blood, the gash torn open earlier immediately filling with blood and healing completely. It then swam over to the Vampire Progenitor’s side, awaiting orders obediently.
“…Was that attack completely useless?” Xia Yi was utterly exasperated, her opponent was like someone using cheats.
She had heard about it, the Blood Pool is a characteristic of the Vampire Clan.
If a vampire suffers severe injuries, they can utilize the Blood Pool to repair their body. This is what makes the Vampire Clan’s regenerative abilities unique.
Blood Magic consumes the Blood Pool to unleash powerful skills exclusive to vampires.
Therefore, the capacity of one’s Blood Pool determines a vampire’s strength.
But this Progenitor’s Blood Pool was practically an ocean!
“Hmm? Xia Yiyi, why are you wearing that golden armor?” Elizabeth seemed somewhat displeased. “And holding the Holy Sword? In this state, aren’t you just like that detestable Human King?”
Xia Yi, thoroughly irritated, retorted, “What’s it to you if I use the King’s Armor!?”
“It brings back some rather unpleasant memories. I never did get along well with the Human King… Whatever. Xia Yiyi, it’s time to bring our little game to a close!”
The next moment, Elizabeth vanished.
Thanks to the enhancements provided by the King’s Armor, unlike before, Xia Yi immediately sensed that Elizabeth was launching an attack against her.
Reacting preemptively, she swung the Holy Sword, directing a sword energy slash towards Elizabeth.
Swish!!
Elizabeth, who had charged right in front of Xia Yi, froze. The sword energy pierced through her from head to toe, her expression solidifying.
This strike seemingly shattered both the vampire’s heart and brain simultaneously. Even for a Vampire Progenitor, this should be fatal.
“I did it! I won!”
Xia Yi was overjoyed. That wicked woman had been too careless and underestimated her! She hadn’t expected Xia Yi’s capabilities to be boosted after donning the King’s Armor.
But then…
Elizabeth’s body dissolved into a puddle of blood, collapsing instantly.
Xia Yi realized—
It wasn’t her real body!
“Too late, Xia Yiyi~”
Hearing the voice, Xia Yi turned her head only to see the hem of the vampire girl’s skirt fluttering upwards before a jade-like foot encased in a long boot slammed into the King’s Armor.
Crash!
Under the tremendous impact, the King’s Armor cracked. Xia Yi was sent flying, the armor deactivating mid-air before she crashed to the ground, utterly defeated.
“You wretched woman!!” Xia Yi shouted.
“Since Xia Yiyi keeps calling me a wicked woman, why don’t I show you an even worse side of me~”
“What?”
Before Xia Yi could stand up, she found herself being hoisted up by something.
Looking back, she saw it was a huge rose monster.
The plants of the rose garden, influenced by Elizabeth’s blood, had transformed into monstrous entities one after another.
The rose monster’s thorny vines, like tentacles, assailed Xia Yi’s body—binding her waist, arms, legs… and even her dragon tail.
“Wicked woman! Wha-what are you trying to do to me?!” Xia Yi’s face flushed bright red instantly. “Let me go! Let me go this instant!!”
“Do what?” Elizabeth replied with a meaningful smile. “Xia Yiyi, this is, of course, the long-awaited moment~”
