Volume 4 Chapter 52
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 52: Divine Era Blood Magic
“Miu Miu… it’s you, right?!”
Xia Yi was stunned. Her call had actually reached Miu Miu.
So Miu Miu wasn’t dead—only asleep. Elizabeth really had been lying.
“Xia Yiyi, I was… ah!!”
Miu Miu looked down at the Frozen Blood Blade in her hand and went pale with fright.
The weapon, forged from her own blood turned to ice, clattered onto the ground.
She staggered backward several steps, shaking her head again and again.
“I’m sorry!! Xia Yiyi, I actually tried to hurt you— I… I don’t even know what happened! I didn’t mean to!”
“It’s alright, Miu Miu! Don’t panic! What happened just now wasn’t you!”
Xia Yi quickly explained, trying to calm her.
“Not… me?”
Miu Miu was lost and bewildered, clearly unaware of what she had done.
“Xia Yiyi… I heard your voice, and when I woke up… everything was already like this.”
Xia Yi reasoned that Miu Miu must have lost consciousness after drinking the blood of the Progenitor. When she finally awakened and saw what had happened, she naturally became overwhelmed.
“Miu Miu, just now… Elizabeth took over your body.”
“Elizabeth? Who is that?” Miu Miu frowned.
“The Blood Progenitor!”
“The Blood Progenitor… then—after I drank the Progenitor’s blood…!”
“That’s right, Miu Miu. The Blood Progenitor, Elizabeth, possessed your body and did terrible things. That’s why she was fighting me just now.”
Judging by Miu Miu’s reaction, Xia Yi believed she understood.
“But it’s fine now, Miu Miu. You’re awake. You won’t be controlled by Elizabeth anymore.”
“Mhm.” Miu Miu nodded lightly.
“Miu Miu, I’m so glad you came back. I was really worried… I thought I’d never see you again.” Xia Yi exhaled in relief.
“…I’m sorry, Xia Yiyi.”
“It’s fine. None of this is your fault.”
“No,” Miu Miu shook her head, “I’m not apologizing for that. It’s… something else.”
“What is it?”
“I wronged you…”
“It’s okay, just say it. I won’t be upset.”
Xia Yi knew Miu Miu’s mental state was fragile, so she tried to reassure her gently.
“Really?”
“Really!” Xia Yi said with certainty.
“As expected… Xia Yiyi is so kind.”
Miu Miu wore a sorrowful, guilty expression.
“The real reason I’m apologizing is—”
“Yes?”
Her expression suddenly changed. A wicked curve tugged at her lips—like a mischievous prank had succeeded.
“Xia Yiyi… it’s because I lied to you. Actually, that whole ‘Miu Miu regaining consciousness’ thing? Fake~ I only acted like that so you’d accept the truth.”
Elizabeth tilted her head playfully as she shattered the illusion.
“The girl from your memories can no longer hear your voice. She’s never coming back.”
“…!” Xia Yi froze.
“Did I go too far? That’s why I apologized… But if Xia Yiyi really misses Miu Miu, I can play the role anytime! After all, I am Miu Miu. Giving you some nostalgic, special service? I’d be delighted!”
Elizabeth thought she was offering a perfectly reasonable suggestion.
To Xia Yi, it was utterly intolerable.
So she was lying.
The girl from moments ago… wasn’t Miu Miu at all.
It had all been an act.
“You… you awful woman! I won’t forgive you!!”
Xia Yi raised her hand, and the Holy Sword sigil flared upon her skin.
“Oh my, Xia Yiyi seems angry. But even angry, she’s still adorable~” Judging from Elizabeth’s teasing tone, she didn’t see Xia Yi as a threat in the slightest.
“Holy Sword—summon!!”
With a blaze of holy radiance, the Holy Sword Gram manifested in the princess’s hand.
“Oh? A Holy Sword?” Elizabeth blinked. “It’s the same as the one from the Mythic Era. A dragon wielding a Holy Sword—fascinating.”
“Evil woman—prepare for judgment!!”
Xia Yi raised the sword, releasing her full sword intent. Waves of sword pressure burst outward like shockwaves, sending the roses of the garden rustling wildly as petals filled the air.
She was truly enraged.
Today, she would kill this wretched woman.
Golden motes shimmered into existence, gathering thickly around the blade as its power surged.
“This technique… looks familiar…”
Elizabeth narrowed her eyes, not interrupting but watching with genuine interest—almost nostalgically.
“Oh? Isn’t this the move that annoying Human King used? It really did hurt when he hit me with it.”
“Destroy my foe—Holy Sword!!”
Drawing on the explosive might of her draconic power, Xia Yi unleashed a devastating strike. It thundered like a lightning bolt hitting the earth, the sword’s roar deafening.
The brilliant explosion lit the vampire palace like daytime beneath the night sky.
A torrent of golden sword-light erupted, like a radiant floodwater, swallowing Elizabeth whole.
Against creatures of darkness, the Holy Sword was devastating. Xia Yi believed this blow had to finish Elizabeth.
When the golden shockwave finally subsided, the rose garden fell still again.
“Did… did I get her!?”
Xia Yi stared anxiously ahead.
This was her strongest attack.
But as her vision cleared, she froze in disbelief.
“As expected, the Holy Sword truly is a dangerous threat to us vampires.”
Elizabeth stood unharmed, a faint divine halo behind her.
The Progenitor of Blood was encased within a colossal construct.
Beneath her feet spread a vast blood pool—clearly her creation.
At its center floated a massive entity, an enormous whale made entirely of blood.
Xia Yi’s sword strike had carved a gaping wound through the whale, but Elizabeth, nestled at its core, remained untouched.
Elizabeth waved her hand, and blood surged from the pool into the whale’s body, rapidly restoring the damage.
“H-How… how is this possible!!”
Xia Yi’s voice cracked with frustration.
It wasn’t fair!
Her strongest move had been brushed aside!
“This is a little like bullying, but… I’ll let Xia Yiyi see it.
A glimpse of how battles were fought in the Mythic Era—”
Elizabeth lifted her hand and snapped her fingers.
An astonishing sight unfolded.
“Divine Era Blood Magic—Whale Song.”
