Volume 4 + Chapter 213: The Battle of Talan City

“…Fine then, let’s forget it.”

Although Inner Demon Xia Yi felt something wasn’t quite right, she still agreed and didn’t make any more fuss.  

Seeing this, Xia Yi was genuinely amused.  

How was her inner demon so easy to handle?

“Xia Yi, who is that bad woman?” Inner Demon Xia Yi inquired. “How did you end up in her clutches?”  

“She is the Vampire Ancestor Elizabeth, a very powerful villain,” Xia Yi explained seriously to her inner demon.  

“She was originally the ruler of the Vampire Clan in the Mythic Age. Due to a series of actions by the Vampire King Herman, she was reawakened in this world. Now, she seems intent on conquering the world.”  

“Then why did she capture you?”  

“Well…”

Xia Yi felt a bit embarrassed, fidgeting with her fingers.

But she said it anyway.  

“She captured me to keep me as her little blood bag, locked up in the Vampire Palace, to satisfy her feeding urges.”  

“She’s that wicked?!” Inner Demon Xia Yi was shocked. “Didn’t you resist?”  

“I did, but her power is too great. I simply can’t win. She even put this tail ring on me.”  

“So you’re just willingly letting her bite you?”  

“Of course not! I’ve already devised a countermeasure. After some time, I’ll take action and escape from the Vampire Palace. I just have to endure being bitten by her for a while in the meantime.”  

“Hmm…!”

Inner Demon Xia Yi covered her shoulder and frowned.  

“Don’t you dare call me out next time! I don’t want to get bitten by her!”  

“Huh? Inner Demon, please help me out.”  

“This is your own mess, don’t drag me into it! Besides, we’re not on friendly, cooperative terms. I’m your inner demon, your complete opposite. Everything I do is to erase you! Remember that!”  

“Help me, please! Help me!”  

“No! Absolutely not! I won’t help you one bit. Call me out again, and I’ll turn hostile for good!”

Inner Demon Xia Yi angrily pushed and shoved at Xia Yi.  

“You made this mess, you cleaned it up!”

“Ugh…”

Xia Yi opened her eyes.  

She had already left her inner mental world, been kicked out by her inner demon, returned to reality, and regained control of her body.  

“Oh dear.”

The little princess sighed. It seemed she couldn’t rely on Inner Demon Xia Yi to take the fall for her anymore.  

If she pushed her too far and her inner demon decided to reveal her plans to Elizabeth in a mutually destructive move, the losses would outweigh the gains.  

It looked like she’d have to endure on her own for this period.

Now, in the room, on the disheveled bed, she was alone.  

Where did Elizabeth go after having her fun?  

She tried to get up from the bed but found her waist weak and sore.  

Seems Elizabeth didn’t go easy on her, she had almost no strength left.

“How infuriating…”

Xia Yi felt wronged.  

But she still spent some time mustering the effort to stand up.  

She walked to the cabinet in the room, opened a drawer, and pulled out a calendar.

“One week left… One week from now is the day Elizabeth and I agreed upon.”  

Xia Yi looked at the date and murmured to herself.  

“On that day, Ella will help me enter Elizabeth’s dream, restrain her, and then I’ll be able to escape the Vampire Palace.”

During this time, because of Xia Yi, Elizabeth had also been staying in the imperial capital without leaving.  

Delaying such a key figure should have bought the Anti-Vampire Alliance considerable time.

“I hope the Anti-Vampire Clan Alliance can achieve some results,” Xia Yi prayed in her heart.

The massive Troll King raised his battle axe high, commanding his brave and battle-hardened troll army to launch a fierce assault on the vampire city.  

The troll forces surged forward like an unstoppable green tide.

After the last meeting, the Anti-Vampire Alliance had decided on their operational strategy, advance simultaneously from multiple fronts to put immense pressure on the Sacred Crimson Empire, preventing them from defending every point effectively.  

This way, one front was bound to fall.

If any member nation successfully breached the vampire defense line, the other allied nations would converge there, concentrate their forces at the breakthrough point, and begin a northward advance, driving straight towards the imperial capital of the Holy Crimson Empire to strike at the heart.

This time, the Troll King chose to attack a city named Talan. If captured, it would deal a significant blow to the vampires.  

Previously, the trolls had probed the vampire border, only to have their forces completely annihilated by the vampires. This act thoroughly enraged the Troll King, who saw it as a great humiliation.  

No matter what, he had to wash away this disgrace.  

On another note, he also wanted to be the first to breach the vampire defense line, making the Troll King’s name renowned across the world.

“Let’s see how these vampires plan to stop me?!”

The Troll King was brimming with confidence.  

The number of defending troops in Talan City was simply not on the same scale as the troll army.  

Sheer numbers alone were enough to crush them!

“Hraaah!!”

The Troll King swung his battle axe, instantly cutting more than ten vampire soldiers in half, snatching their lives away before they even had a chance to use Blood Pools to regenerate.  

His axe struck the ground, and the explosive surge of battle aura sent dozens of vampire soldiers flying.  

His massive frame, combined with the gigantic battle axe, made him a veritable meat grinder on the battlefield once he moved.

This fierce and courageous fighting style inspired all the soldiers of the troll army. For a moment, their morale reached its peak.  

The first clash between the troll forces and the vampire army ended with the trolls gaining the upper hand.

“Pathetic vampires!”

The Troll King grabbed a vampire soldier’s head with his large hand, lifted him up for all to see, and roared on the battlefield, capturing everyone’s attention.  

“Ah, ah…! Help, help me!!”

The vampire soldier screamed in terror, trying to break free, but under the Troll King’s overwhelming power, he was held like a helpless chick.  

“Who’s next?!”

The Troll King exerted force with his hand, crushing the vampire soldier’s head like an egg, blood splattering everywhere.  

This brutal act terrified the vampire army.  

The trolls, however, grew wildly excited, they loved this savage, violent style of combat. They responded to their king with enthusiastic war cries and launched a new wave of fierce attacks.

“Bwahahahaha!!!”

The Troll King threw his head back and laughed heartily.  

It’s in the bag.  

Talan City was as good as his. No one could stop him now!

“My Lord, the troll army is currently attacking our Talan City. The Troll King himself is leading the campaign. With his power, our defenders are finding it difficult to resist…”

Within Talan City, a military officer of the defending forces respectfully reported to a heavyweight figure from the imperial capital.  

Upon hearing this, the mysterious figure cast a casual glance.  

That single gesture alone made the officer shudder, instinctively bowing his head, almost afraid to breathe.

The mysterious figure stood up and said, “…How interesting. Then let me go meet these reckless, foolish savages.”
