Volume 4 Chapter 200
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 200: Shocking The Fox For A Hundred Years
“Who said I’m going to marry the Vampire Ancestor?”
Everyone was startled, then turned towards the entrance, where a silver-haired dragon loli made a perfectly timed appearance.
Who else could it be?
“It’s Her Highness the Princess!!”
The Dragon Clan members cheered.
The captain could hardly believe his eyes, his mouth agape, wide enough to fit an egg.
He almost blurted it out:
Your Highness, is that you? Did you escape… on your own?
Everyone present was astonished, their gazes all converging on the silver dragon loli.
It was indeed the Silver Dragon Princess as everyone remembered: long silver hair, silver pupils, a pair of cute twin-tails, wearing a white princess dress and white stockings that reached past her knees.
Kennedy stared at the scene, momentarily speechless.
He sensed many oddities surrounding the Dragon Clan. Under normal circumstances, he would have deduced the Silver Dragon Princess shouldn’t be here. So why had she appeared?
“What’s the matter, everyone? Why has everyone fallen silent?”
Xia Yi walked into the conference room.
Her gaze swept over each person before finally settling on Kennedy, filled with undisguised mockery.
“General of the Elves, hello there,” the Silver Dragon Princess greeted proactively amidst the tense atmosphere.
“Didn’t you say you were unwell?!” Kennedy was perplexed. “Why are you here now?”
“Yes, I was indeed feeling a bit under the weather and wanted to rest. But it seemed someone was trying to stir up trouble using that as an excuse, so I had no choice but to come and see.”
Xia Yi’s next remark, delivered with seeming calm, was laced with sharp aggression.
“Speaking of which, I encountered an amusing incident on my way here and thought I’d share it with everyone~ At the time, I came across a stray dog. For some unknown reason, this stray dog kept barking incessantly. I originally didn’t want to pay it any mind, but found it rather annoying, so I walked over. Strangely enough, once the stray dog saw me approaching, it lay down on the ground and didn’t dare to bark anymore~”
The ‘amusing incident’ shared by the Silver Dragon Princess caused everyone present to exchange glances momentarily.
Who this ‘stray dog that likes to bark randomly’ referred to was now quite clear to everyone.
This level of damage was far more potent than directly pointing a finger at Kennedy and scolding him.
Upon hearing this, the General leading the Elven army immediately entered a state of ‘red-temper’—flushed and boiling with anger.
“Silver Dragon Princess, what do you mean by that?!”
“General Kennedy, I was talking about a stray dog that likes to bark randomly. Why are you suddenly so agitated~?”
Xia Yi proceeded to subject Kennedy to a new round of thorough humiliation.
“Oh my, could it be that my earlier remarks have led General Kennedy to misunderstand, or even… personally relate to them? For that, I truly apologize. That was never my intention. But if someone insists on relating to it personally… Well, I won’t stop them.”
“Silver Dragon Princess, you, a traitor, dare to speak like this?!”
Kennedy completely lost his composure. Enraged, he smashed the table in front of him to pieces.
This level of intensity was practically indistinguishable from declaring outright hostility.
“How do you explain the matter of the Vampire Ancestor marrying you?! This is clearly a betrayal of the Anti-Vampire Clan Alliance!!”
“Why would I marry the Vampire Ancestor?” Xia Yi retorted. “Anyone with eyes can see it. It’s entirely a treacherous scheme by the Vampire Ancestor to sow discord. That announcement was a unilateral one, without any agreement whatsoever from our Dragon Clan side. It’s all false and unsubstantiated information. Surely no one actually believes that? Believe that, and you might as well believe I’m actually the Creator God.”
“Then how do you explain the last defeat?”
“There’s nothing to hide about that either. It was simply a defeat in battle. The defensive forces at Adenai exceeded our initial expectations. To avoid excessive losses, we chose not to engage in a bloody, head-on clash, as Adenai isn’t absolutely essential. Defeat is a common occurrence in warfare, who can guarantee they win every single battle? General Kennedy, I am not like you—lacking the courage to even admit failure.”
Xia Yi’s calm and rational responses addressed all of Kennedy’s questions, dispelling the doubts in everyone’s minds.
Now, the Elven General, who had been clamoring earlier, seemed like a complete clown—as the saying goes, “the clown’s mother opens the door for the clown, the clown has come home.”
The Dragon Clan had proven itself. If the Elves continued to make baseless accusations, it would amount to nothing more than throwing a tantrum, eroding everyone’s trust in the Elven race. As the alliance leader, persecuting a member state dedicated to fighting the Vampire Clan would undoubtedly provoke public outrage.
Damnable Silver Dragon Princess!
Kennedy was now like a mute tasting bitter herbs—unable to voice his suffering. Even his curses had to be forcibly swallowed.
“Well then, since no one has any further issues, the meeting should proceed.”
Xia Yi took her seat in the Dragon Clan representative’s chair.
“Let’s not allow trivial matters to affect the meeting’s progress.”
Kennedy was seething with bottled-up anger, unable to vent it.
Seeing this, Yue Liu stepped forward. As the Fox Clan representative and the leader of the Anti-Vampire Clan Alliance, she took charge of the situation. “Now that representatives from all countries of the Anti-Vampire Clan Alliance are present with no absences, this war council shall now commence!”
……
The meeting concluded.
Future plans regarding the war were also finalized during the session.
Representatives from various countries began to leave one after another.
The Elves left first, Kennedy couldn’t stand to stay another second.
The Fox Clan was among the last to leave, especially Yue Liu. Before departing, she sought out Xia Yi.
“My destined rival, so you were fine after all? Why didn’t you appear earlier?”
“…You are the princess of the Nine-Tailed Fox Clan, Yue Liu, correct?” Xia Yi looked the little fox up and down.
“What are you talking about, my destined rival!! Why are you suddenly using that tone? Have you already forgotten the intertwined destiny between us?!” The little fox grew somewhat agitated.
“Not at all. It’s just that I’m a bit curious—why are you suddenly so concerned about me? After all, it’s rather different from the previous Fox Clan princess.”
“That’s not a concern! I was merely considering that if anything happened to the Dragon Clan, it might affect the Anti-Vampire Clan Alliance!”
The little fox hurriedly clarified for herself.
“When I heard the news that the Vampire Ancestor announced she would marry you, I was truly shocked. I thought to myself, that was utterly preposterous, absolutely impossible…”
“Yes, completely impossible.”
Xia Yi gave a sly smile, then dropped a line that would shock the little fox for a hundred years.
“After all, compared to the Vampire Ancestor, I like the little fox more~”
