Volume 4 Chapter 179
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 179: Heeey~ Missed Me?
The Dragon Clan forces suddenly appeared over the city of Adenai and began carpet-bombing it.
At this moment, as before, the little princess stood on the back of the apprentice maid she brought with her, Elly.
Elly had assumed her true dragon form, attacking as a green dragon.
Waves of dragon breath strikes began exploding within the city.
This was already full-on firepower suppression.
Even if the Vampires deployed their special magical airship units, their firepower wouldn’t match that of Xia Yi’s Dragon Clan forces, let alone the fact that there was no airship support here. The Vampires below could only take the beating.
“Princess!!”
The Captain flew to Xia Yi’s side to report.
“Princess, we’ve detected that the garrison forces inside Adenai are preparing to activate a magic array to deploy a magical protective barrier, trying to defend against our strikes!”
“Where?”
“At the eleven o’clock direction. You should be able to sense the magical energy fluctuation!” the Captain replied.
Hearing this, Xia Yi focused her senses. Due to the sudden Dragon Clan assault, Adenai was in utter chaos, but she indeed sensed a surge of magical energy indicating a magic array starting up, coming from the eleven o’clock direction.
The Vampires were likely trying to operate the magic array to create a magical barrier in a futile attempt to block the Dragon Clan’s bombardment.
But this action was utterly laughable.
It was as if the enemy had already arrived, and they were now assembling weapons in plain sight to counterattack.
Who would just stand there and watch foolishly?
“I’ll handle it!”
Xia Yi said to Elly.
“Elly, head towards the eleven o’clock direction. Hurry, interrupt the activation of their magic array!”
“Understood, Princess!”
Elly changed direction and swiftly headed towards the eleven o’clock position.
After she made this move, many Vampire soldiers showed panicked expressions, rushing towards the green dragon en masse, seemingly determined to stop Elly by any means necessary.
But how could this possibly withstand Elly’s charge?
The green dragon merely flapped her wings, sending a swarm of Vampire soldiers flying into the city buildings like flies. A swipe of her claws against the ground sent all the Vampire soldiers surrounding her flying from the shockwave generated by dragon power.
Even as a trainee maid of the Royal Maid Corps, her strength far exceeded that of ordinary dragons!
Before Elly, such small fry were truly insignificant.
Even among higher species, there are differences in power.
Thus, Elly arrived at the magic array within Adenai city, unstoppable.
Both Xia Yi and Elly saw the crimson magic runes encircling the array lighting up one by one. Once this entire circle of magic runes was illuminated, the array would activate.
Unfortunately, the strength gap between those Vampire soldiers and Elly was too vast. If they could have held out a little longer, they might have really succeeded in activating it.
“Elly, use the Devastating Emerald Emission!”
Xia Yi pointed at the magic array and gave the command.
The green dragon hovered in mid-air, slightly coiling her body. Within her massive maw, a green light began to gather.
“This is bad! Protect the magic array! Don’t let the dragons destroy it!!” Vampires below shouted. “This is our last hope to resist the Dragon Clan!”
Other Vampire soldiers hurriedly positioned themselves around the array. Warriors raised their shields, and mages chanted incantations, casting magical shields at the fastest speed possible, trying to block Elly’s attack.
“ROOOAR!!!”
Elly released the Devastating Emerald Emission. The powerful dragon breath blast struck the magic array, shattering the ground and destroying the array along with it.
Those Vampire soldiers who attempted to block Elly’s attack were all blasted away, collapsing to the ground, losing their combat ability.
If it were nighttime, with the Vampires’ enhanced abilities, they might have been able to struggle a bit.
But fighting under the midday sun, they could hardly even put up resistance.
And so, the last hope in the Vampire soldiers’ hearts vanished.
“The Vampire army is truly no match at all!” Elly sneered disdainfully. “I could take on nine hundred and ninety-nine of them!!”
“Elly, land first.”
“Okay.”
Elly descended from the sky and settled on the ground.
“Ahh…! It’s… it’s the Silver Dragon Princess!!”
A fallen Vampire soldier looked up at the silver-haired little girl standing on the green dragon’s head, terrified.
“Tell me, where is your command center? Where is the garrison commander?” Xia Yi inquired.
In the eyes of the Vampire soldiers, this silver-haired girl was backlit, her facial expression unclear. But they could all feel the oppressive force from those silver vertical pupils. Combined with the terrifying green dragon beneath her, she was like a fearsome great demon king, chilling them to the bone.
At this moment, they felt their breathing becoming difficult. Despite the blazing sun, it felt as if they were in an icehouse. Their minds went blank, and driven purely by survival instinct, they all pointed in one direction, spilling the truth plainly.
Xia Yi felt somewhat surprised. Why did they tell the truth after she just asked a couple of questions?
Really strange. She originally thought interrogation might waste some time.
Oh well, it’s good to resolve things easily. No need to dwell on it now.
“Elly, let’s go find the Captain,” Xia Yi said.
“Okay!”
Elly took flight again, found the Captain within the city, and reported the earlier situation.
“Under our sudden attack, we caught the Vampire army completely off guard. After this round of bombardment, the Vampire garrison has largely lost the will to fight. We can proceed to the next phase,” the Captain announced to all the dragons. “Since we’ve determined the location of the enemy command, let’s crush them decisively and quickly! All soldiers, gather up! Prepare for a decapitation strike!”
The dragons gathered and charged towards the location of the enemy command.
“Princess! I told you, how could there be any surprises!” Elly was very excited. “This means we’ve basically won, right? How could they possibly turn this around now? Even if we just charged straight in, victory is assured!”
“The Vampires have already lost. They’d have to call upon the Vampire Progenitor to save the day!” Xia Yi couldn’t help but quip.
But then again, that wicked woman Elizabeth is definitely staying in the capital of the Holy Crimson Empire. As the ruler of the Vampires and their current symbol, there’s absolutely no reason for her to appear on such a remote battlefield…
“Ahhh!!”
Just as they were about to reach the area where the commander was located, the dragon soldier charging at the very front suddenly let out a cry of agony. He was then flung back by a mysterious force, crashing into a tall building and losing consciousness.
This scene left all the dragons feeling utterly bewildered.
Xia Yi seemed to sense a somewhat familiar aura, and an extremely ominous premonition arose in her heart.
“Heeey~ Missed me? My adorable little blood bag~”
