Volume 4 Chapter 161
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 161: Unbridled Imagination
On Ella’s lower abdomen, four large characters radiating a festive red glow were unmistakably—
Safe travels in and out!
This sight left Ella completely dumbfounded.
“Little silver dragon, you’re way too evil!! Hurry up and erase this magic mark right now!!” the Succubus lady shouted at the top of her lungs.
“Heh heh heh!”
Xia Yi hugged her plush teddy bear and admired her handiwork, utterly satisfied.
This was a magic mark she had deliberately left behind. It had no special effect at all—it simply glowed.
“You deserved it for leaving such a weird mark on my body!”
“Th-this…!”
Ella simply could not accept those four characters.
“You might as well have drawn a heart on me, aaahhh!!”
“As if I’d draw a heart for you,” Xia Yi said. “Drawing a heart would basically be rewarding you, wouldn’t it? I have to teach you Succubus a lesson. How can you be thinking about lewd stuff all day long?!”
“Don’t put something this tacky on my body! It makes me look so cheap! If my peers see this, I’ll be laughed at!” Ella protested.
“That’s exactly the outcome I want. If I don’t leave you with a deep enough impression, how will you ever repent?”
“You…”
Ella was truly speechless.
She had never imagined that this little silver dragon—who looked so innocent and naive—actually had such flashy driving skills.
Coming up with something like ‘safe travels in and out’—she honestly admired this white-haired fluffball’s imagination.
“So, little silver dragon, you’re actually really good at playing dumb, huh? In dreams you pretend to know nothing, but in reality you’re this skilled. You must already be a seasoned veteran who’s read countless ‘books,’ right?” Ella teased.
“Hm? Read countless books? Seasoned veteran?”
Xia Yi didn’t quite understand what Ella meant.
“What are you talking about?”
“What else could it be? Don’t think I don’t know what you meant by leaving safe travels in and out on my body.”
“Oh, you understood it? I thought you didn’t get it at all.”
“Honestly, you might be quite suited to being a Succubus yourself, little silver dragon. To think you’d come up with something like this,” Ella sighed emotionally. “Using this to draw little booklets would actually be a pretty good idea.”
“You can draw little booklets with this?” Xia Yi was utterly confused. “Would anyone even read them?”
“Of course they would! In a certain sense, the more meme-worthy and absurd it is, the more widely it spreads. It’s easier to break out of the niche and attract more potential readers into the circle!”
Once she started talking about her interests, Ella rattled off a bunch of terms Xia Yi couldn’t understand at all.
“This is what you call a meme-y lewd gag!”
“How is this lewd? Isn’t this an auspicious, celebratory message?”
Xia Yi was completely baffled.
“Huh?” Ella froze for a moment.
“A Succubus like you, whose head is full of lewd thoughts, needs exactly this kind of righteous, upright blessing to suppress the improper evil aura on your body!” Xia Yi pointed at Ella. “You really should rein yourself in!”
“That’s what you meant? I thought you were—”
“What did you think it was?” Xia Yi asked, genuinely puzzled.
The corner of Ella’s mouth twitched. Well played—this was all just her own overinterpretation. She had completely misunderstood Xia Yi’s intention.
So Xia Yi was actually pure.
Still, Ella couldn’t really be blamed. After all, Xia Yi had specifically chosen these four characters, and then deliberately copied her by forcefully leaving a mark right here—how could that not invite wild imagination?
“Is ‘safe travels in and out’ still not righteous enough? Should I have chosen something like serving the nation with utmost loyalty instead…” Xia Yi muttered to herself, sinking into thought.
“Stop, stop, stop! That’s enough! That’s already way, way, way too much!!”
Ella hurriedly cut her off—just hearing it was already unbearable.
“Then we’ll leave it at that, Ella. Once the temporary contract ends, the magic mark on your body will disappear. But if you dare mess around, it’ll stay with you for life!”
Xia Yi threatened.
She waved her hand, stopping the magic mark from glowing. The four characters gradually faded away.
“Alright, alright, I get it,” Ella sighed. “I’ve really fallen into the hands of you silver dragons…”
……
……
At the border of the Holy Crimson Empire.
Elven soldiers were organizing an offensive, launching attacks against the border garrison forces.
But the elven soldiers knew very well in their hearts that they were not charging in to fight to the death. These were feigned attacks—fighting while retreating.
Not only here, but in other regions as well, elven troops would launch attacks at different times, creating all kinds of false offensive illusions.
On a concealed high ground in the distance, an elven general dressed in extraordinary attire stood surrounded by his subordinates, observing the battlefield.
“General, your plan has been extremely successful!” one of Kennedy’s subordinates reported. “The vampire clan’s border garrison is redirecting most of its forces toward our main feint, strengthening defenses there, while the number of troops at the checkpoint has decreased. The plan has succeeded!”
“The border checkpoint of the Holy Crimson Empire is something the elven race is determined to take.”
Kennedy looked at his subordinates and asked:
“So, what do you think—what are the chances of our elven forces successfully taking the checkpoint?”
The subordinates glanced at one another, then unanimously gave a number.
“Ten out of ten!”
Kennedy shook his head indifferently. “No—actually, it’s only six out of ten.”
“Only six?!” his subordinates exclaimed. “General, if the vampire clan isn’t fully defending, there’s no way they can withstand the might of our elven army!”
“You’re overlooking one thing,” Kennedy replied. “The vampire clan has extremely high mobility at night. If we choose to attack the checkpoint and they realize they’ve been deceived, they could have the garrison hold out desperately until nightfall. Then, using their nocturnal mobility, they could even send night patrols from other regions to circle behind our army and launch a pincer attack. That would be dangerous.”
“That’s true… if they really manage to hold out…”
The subordinates had no rebuttal.
“However, now it truly is ten out of ten.”
Kennedy suddenly changed his tone.
“General, why do you say that all of a sudden?” his subordinates asked.
“Because the dragon race has arrived.”
“…Dragon reinforcements?”
“On the surface, we only told the dragon race the plan and asked them to defend the rear and observe. But in reality, we only told them half of the plan. They are guaranteed to encounter the vampire clan’s forces. When that happens, they’ll hold back the pressure from behind for us. Then, at the front, we can devote all our strength to attacking the checkpoint without worrying about our rear,” Kennedy explained.
“Brilliant—absolutely brilliant! So that was your intention all along, General—using the dragon race for the benefit of our elven people!” his subordinates exclaimed in admiration.
No one else had anticipated that Kennedy had such an ulterior layer of planning.
Seen this way, it really was a ten-out-of-ten chance!
Thinking of this, Kennedy smiled.
Arrogant and foolish dragon race—become the stepping stone for our elven race’s victory in this war.
