Volume 4 Chapter 160
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 160: Auspicious Blessing
“Am I a good person? Me—a good person?”
Ella had already begun to doubt her entire existence.
Ever since she had gained the ability to control and manipulate dreams, her one consistent goal had been to become a truly wicked Succubus.
That included her cooperation with the elven princess Eve, when it came time to pay the agreed reward, she would, without hesitation, choose to run away.
Yet who could have imagined that one day, she would actually be called a good person?
“Ah—ah…!”
Ella was so furious at Xia Yi that she was on the verge of passing out.
“Hm? Ella, are you feeling sleepy?” Xia Yi said. “Nope, that won’t do. If you fall asleep, I’ll make you keep serving time in the whipped-cream cell.”
Not even allowed to faint—this silver dragon was absolutely the worst!!
“I can hold on!” Ella gritted her teeth and replied.
“Then it’s settled. In this war of desperate, bloody resistance, you’ll use your Succubus abilities to provide me with support.”
“Then… the reward…”
Ella tested the waters in a low voice.
“Huh? You’re not volunteering to help unconditionally?”
Xia Yi blinked in surprise, then patted the cream barrel beside her.
Ella’s cheek twitched. Faced with Xia Yi’s implied threat, she couldn’t utter a single word for a long while. Her whole body trembled with anger, and in the end, she had no choice but to give in.
“I was just joking, Xia Yi. How could I possibly make demands? Of course I’ll help unconditionally!”
Ella smiled on the surface, but inside she was completely swallowing bitterness in silence.
She’d been freeloaded by the little silver dragon again!
“Verbal promises alone aren’t enough for me to trust you,” Xia Yi said as she scrutinized Ella. “You need to prove that you genuinely intend to help me.”
“I still have to prove it?!”
Ella felt like the biggest sucker alive.
From start to finish, she had done nothing, but waste her effort—trying to steal a chicken and ending up losing the rice instead.
Was there anyone in this world unluckier than her?
“Fine, fine! I’ll form a temporary contract with you!” Ella shouted in resignation. “During the contract period, I’ll provide you with one instance of unconditional assistance! No matter the difficulty, I’ll give it my all!”
“Why only once?”
“One time isn’t enough? How many times are you planning to freeload off me?! Do you have any idea that I nearly starved to death dealing with you? And now you still want me to work, won’t even let me touch you! Believe it or not, I can just drop dead on the spot and put on a live performance for you!”
Ella had completely given up, no longer bothering to maintain even a shred of restraint.
Xia Yi thought it over. Enough was enough—there was no need to truly push the Succubus lady to the brink.
“Alright, then let’s begin establishing the temporary contract.”
“Have that silly-looking little green dragon next to you go outside first,” Ella said, pointing at Elly.
“Me? Silly-looking?!”
Elly pointed at herself in shock and turned to Xia Yi.
“Your Highness, am I really silly-looking?”
“Well…”
To be honest, yes.
That was what Xia Yi wanted to say. Every time she thought about what Elly had done to her in the dragon clan’s imperial palace, she got angry.
But she still praised Elly instead.
“No, Elly. That Succubus is talking nonsense. You’re actually very capable.”
“I knew it! I’m a capable green dragon—how could I possibly be silly-looking?”
Elly finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Your Highness, I can’t go out. What if this scoundrel Succubus tries to do something bad to you?”
“I already said this is necessary to establish a temporary contract. No extra people can be present, or I’ll lose focus!” Ella snorted. “If it affects the success of the contract, can you take responsibility for that?”
Elly didn’t quite dare to guarantee anything. After all, Succubuss were extremely rare demons, a highly mysterious race. Ordinary people knew very little about them, and she couldn’t tell whether Ella was telling the truth.
“It’s fine, Elly. Just go outside. This isn’t a dream anyway—she can’t do anything to me here,” Xia Yi said. “If she tries anything, I’m confident I can subdue her.”
“Alright, I understand, Your Highness. Please be careful.”
Before leaving, Elly issued a warning to Ella.
“If you dare do anything bad to Her Highness, I’ll rush in and stomp you into minced meat!”
After that, she left.
Inside the small dark room, only Xia Yi and Ella remained.
“According to your request, Elly has already left. Can we start establishing the temporary contract now?” Xia Yi urged. “There’s no one else here.”
“Hold me, Xia Yi.”
Ella stood up from the floor and opened her arms toward Xia Yi.
“Huh?”
Seeing Ella covered head to toe in thick white cream, Xia Yi took a step back in disgust. “You’re not messing with me, are you?!”
“I’m not. Establishing a contract requires contact between both parties in the first place.”
“But it didn’t require that last time, did it?”
“That was because I entered your dream. Our minds made contact back then, so physical contact wasn’t necessary,” Ella countered. “Unless you’re willing to let me enter your dream again?”
Xia Yi thought for a moment. No—absolutely not. There was no way she would allow Ella back into her dreams.
“Fine. Contact it is!”
“Xia Yi, take off all your clothes, and then we’ll press together—”
“Don’t push it too far, Ella!!” Xia Yi shouted.
“Ahem, just kidding.”
Ella felt a bit regretful. Damn that little silver dragon—why was her guard so high? Not even a hint of benefit for her?
After that, Xia Yi stepped forward and gave Ella a hug. The two of them pressed together briefly.
Then Ella began establishing the temporary contract with Xia Yi, reciting its contents aloud as a gentle light enveloped them both.
“Don’t forget—you’re doing this for free. No compensation!” Xia Yi reminded her, enduring the sticky mess on Ella’s body.
Ella’s attempt to fish in muddy waters failed, and she could only add that clause as well:
“In this temporary contract, the assistance I provide to Xia Yi shall be unconditional and without any compensation.”
Soon after, the temporary contract was completed. Xia Yi could clearly feel that it was indeed different from the previous one.
However…
“Ella!!”
Xia Yi looked down at her lower abdomen. Pink light was glowing there again—this time in the shape of a heart.
This didn’t look good at all.
“Why did you put the contract mark here again?!”
“Heh heh,” Ella said righteously. “Sorry, but that’s just how Succubuss are. Where the contract mark goes is a matter of personal habit. If you don’t like it, you can cancel the temporary contract. Anyway, I’ll only put it here. I won’t put it anywhere else!”
That smug expression made it obvious she was doing it on purpose.
Xia Yi was furious.
She raised her hand and returned the favor in kind—using the same method against her opponent. In an instant, she left a glowing magical mark on Ella’s lower abdomen.
The action was so fast, combined with restrained chanting, that Ella didn’t even have time to react.
“You?!”
Ella was startled at first, then quickly calmed down and laughed.
“It’s useless, Xia Yi. I’m a Succubus. Even if it’s a heart-shaped pattern, I wouldn’t feel embarrassed at all. That’s just a racial trait of ours—”
“A heart? Take a look yourself. What do you think that is?” Xia Yi curled her lips into a smile. “This is an auspicious blessing.”
Ella lowered her head and took a look. Her mental state collapsed instantly—she couldn’t accept it at all.
There, glaringly obvious, was the blessing:
“Safe travels in and out.”
