Volume 4 Chapter 147
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 147: The Little Silver Dragon Is Coming!
“Fox Carrot, I’m about to set off. Don’t you have anything to say to me?”
Before departing from the fox tribe’s camp stationed on the border of the Holy Crimson Empire, Xia Yi looked at Yue Liu and asked curiously.
This pink-haired little fox had actually come to see her off.
“Hmph, hmph, hmph!”
The little fox deliberately adopted a low, rumbling voice, trying to make her tone sound cooler.
“My fated rival! Do not fall into the eternal abyss of death upon the bloody and fiery battle lines! My heart burns with an undying flame of vengeance, which can only be fully unleashed through our destined entanglement!”
“Huh?”
Xia Yi furrowed her brows.
Why could she still not understand the little fox’s chuunibyou declarations? What was all this supposed to mean?
Just as Xia Yi was sinking into confusion, one of Yue Liu’s subordinates stepped forward. Having thoroughly studied The Common Phrase Glossary of Yue Liu · Gitusezhuoya, he quickly provided a translation.
“Silver Dragon Princess, our princess is saying she hopes you don’t die in the battle to breach the vampire stronghold. Her Highness wishes to see you again in the future.”
“Oh, Fox Carrot, so you are worried about me,” Xia Yi said, breaking into a smile. “Why do you have to speak in such a roundabout way?”
“D-don’t talk nonsense! I-I mean, I have no such intention! I am not worried!”
The little fox became flustered and shot a glare at her subordinate.
She then turned back to Xia Yi.
“I am merely concerned that you might be unable to fulfill our destined battle! I intend to take my revenge upon you most severely! Therefore, you absolutely must remain alive until then!”
“Is… that so?”
“Of course! For this purpose, I have researched the ultimate draw-sword technique! And acquired the absolutely forbidden ocular art! If you were gone, wouldn’t all my preparations be in vain?!” The little fox pointed at Xia Yi. “The battle between us is a fight of destiny, already preordained!”
“Those things you mentioned, ‘ultimate’ and ‘forbidden’… they aren’t just some cool-sounding chuunibyou settings you made up, are they…?”
“No, no, no!! I am not a chuunibyou!! You stupid silver dragon, do you want to taste how powerful I am right now?!”
“Alright, alright, maybe next time. If we fight here, it would probably cause quite a bit of trouble, given we’re currently representing our respective nations.”
“Hmph, it’s good that you understand!” The little fox crossed her arms with a pout.
Seeing this, Yue Liu’s subordinate felt perplexed.
Strange… Under the guidance of the Nine-Tailed Fox Emperor, our princess has always regarded the dragon race as formidable rivals. Why does she look like this now? It almost seems like the Silver Dragon Princess is… huh?
Wait, when did these two get so close?
Actually, it wasn’t just him. Even those on the dragon side harbored similar thoughts.
“Well then, Fox Carrot, goodbye for now. We’re heading to the elven side first.”
Xia Yi jumped onto Elly’s dragon back and waved farewell.
Soon after, the other dragons also took to the skies, heading towards the elven camp.
Watching the dragons disappear into the distance, the little fox, for some unknown reason, felt a growing sense of unease.
Yue Liu was not only the princess of the fox tribe but also a shrine maiden of the Nine-Tailed Fox clan. Consequently, she could perceive things others couldn’t, possessing spiritual awareness beyond ordinary people.
During her recent interactions with Xia Yi, she constantly felt as though there was something… mysterious attached to Xia Yi’s being.
It was an existence she couldn’t see through, one that even seemed to carry a hint of danger.
Yet, this mysterious presence showed no intention of harming Xia Yi, which was truly baffling. It even made the little fox doubt her own spiritual senses, wondering if she was mistaken.
“I hope I’m just overthinking it,” the little fox murmured to herself.
……
Xia Yi stood upon the back of the great green dragon, gazing thoughtfully at the land below.
She took out the seed she carried with her.
This seed had been given to her by Miu Miu earlier—a seed of the World Tree, and also the final hope for Miu Miu’s salvation, containing her soul.
“Miu Miu, look.”
Xia Yi raised the seed as if Miu Miu were cradled in her palm, wanting to share everything she saw with the lonely vampire girl.
“We’ve arrived on the soil of the vampire nation, your homeland. Do you have any memories of it?”
Although conversing with a seed might seem foolish to others, perhaps on a whim, she just wanted to try.
After waiting for a while, the seed lay quietly in Xia Yi’s palm, showing no reaction.
“Did it fail…?”
Xia Yi felt a twinge of disappointment.
However, just as she was about to put the seed away, it suddenly moved, as if stirred from slumber.
“Huh?!”
Xia Yi’s eyes widened as she watched the seed roll over once in her hand.
“Miu Miu, can you hear me?”
The seed seemed to react to Xia Yi’s words. It paused, then rolled over again, as if attempting to respond.
Xia Yi gazed at the seed and smiled. “Miu Miu, so you really can hear me.”
The seed rolled back and forth in her hand for a while before finally stopping, lying still as if tired and fallen asleep again.
Although she couldn’t have a proper conversation with Miu Miu’s soul, even this level of interaction was enough to satisfy Xia Yi.
She tucked the seed away safely on her person again.
……
“Hm?”
Suddenly, all members of the Anti-Vampire Special Operations Team received an order from their commander and descended from the sky to land on the ground.
This puzzled Xia Yi. Why stop in the middle of their journey?
“Commander, what’s going on?” Xia Yi asked the team leader.
“Reporting to Your Highness, there are elves ahead. They wish to communicate with us,” the commander said, looking forward.
A unit of elven soldiers appeared ahead, approaching Xia Yi.
The leading soldier first offered a courteous salute, displayed identification, then greeted them: “Greetings. We are soldiers of the elven army. May I ask if you are the Silver Dragon Princess from the Dragon Kingdom?”
“Yes, that’s me,” Xia Yi nodded.
“Honorable Silver Dragon Princess, our unit was notified that you are leading dragon reinforcements to our camp,” the elven soldier explained. “However, just ahead, our elven forces are preparing to engage the vampires to create misleading intelligence and confusion. If your forces continue flying so conspicuously, the vampire side will detect you, potentially exposing our true intentions… If possible, we wish to avoid this situation. Therefore, we were dispatched here to escort you the rest of the way.”
“Oh, I see.”
“Per our orders, we have prepared transportation to take you and your subordinates to the vicinity of the elven camp.”
“Alright.”
Since they had made arrangements, Xia Yi agreed.
……
“She’s coming!”
In a certain location, the Succubus lady suddenly reacted, looking in a specific direction.
Because Ella had once left a Succubus mark on Xia Yi, she could naturally sense that familiar aura approaching.
The time for their reunion was drawing near, filling Ella with increasing anticipation.
“Little silver dragon, prepare to have a ‘defeated CG’ scene!”
