Volume 4 Chapter 134
by Need_More_SleepVolume 4 + Chapter 134: The Frenzied Beastman Prince
“You all must give our Beastmen Alliance an answer today! Otherwise, I’ll smash all your heads to pieces!!”
The Beastman prince bared an extremely vicious expression at everyone present, trying to force them into taking a stance.
All the delegations of the Anti–Vampire Clan Alliance fell into silence.
Not a single person took the initiative to respond to the Beastman prince’s demand.
This fellow was practically like a bomb on the verge of detonation, almost completely out of control. There was no way to communicate calmly with him—if anyone told him to quiet down and not disrupt the proceedings, he likely wouldn’t listen at all.
And yet, at that very moment, a young girl stood up, fearlessly igniting the powder keg.
“Beastman Prince, under the present circumstances, the Anti–Vampire Clan Alliance will not dispatch troops to reinforce the Beastmen Alliance.”
Upon hearing these words, the Beastman prince froze completely.
The representatives of the other member states also showed expressions of shock.
Such a blunt, unequivocal statement would absolutely drive the Beastman prince mad.
“What… did you say?”
Not only the Beastman prince—everyone’s gaze focused on that girl.
“It’s her?” Xia Yi blinked in surprise.
This person was none other than the gray-haired elven princess, Eve.
Within the Anti–Vampire Clan Alliance, two nations held the greatest authority in speech: Fox Hill and the Elven Kingdom.
The statements of Eve and Yue Liu could essentially be regarded as the stance of the alliance leaders.
The little fox also stared at Eve in astonishment, clearly indicating that this decision had not been discussed in private beforehand.
“Beastman Prince, did you not hear me clearly?” Eve said calmly. “I said that the Anti–Vampire Clan Alliance will not proactively order its member states to send troops to reinforce the Beastmen Alliance and assist your Beastman race.”
The Beastman prince roared in fury, “My ears aren’t deaf—I heard you loud and clear! What I’m asking is, what does this mean?! Why, after our Beastman race joined the Anti–Vampire Clan Alliance, are you refusing to honor the alliance treaty?!”
“No, on the contrary, we do intend to honor the treaty,” Eve explained. “Beastman Prince, you haven’t forgotten why we formed the Anti–Vampire Clan Alliance in the first place, have you?”
“Of course I know!”
“Then that’s enough. The purpose of forming the Anti–Vampire Clan Alliance was to defeat the Vampire Clan Progenitor. Under the current situation, the vampires have dispatched a massive force to attack the Beastmen Alliance. This means that the military strength within the Sacred Crimson Empire has been reduced. Seizing this opportunity, we should instead concentrate our forces and launch an attack on the Sacred Crimson Empire before the vampire army withdraws from Beastman territory.”
“So what you’re saying is that you’re going to stand by and do nothing while our Beastman race suffers?!”
“We can provide assistance other than dispatching troops,” Eve said. “Beastman Prince, please continue resisting the vampire invasion with all your strength. Do your best to pin down all the forces sent by the Vampire Clan Progenitor to the Beastmen Alliance, creating an opportunity for our forthcoming campaign against the Crimson Empire.”
After hearing the elven princess’s remarks, the representatives of the member states all revealed surprised expressions.
It wasn’t that Eve’s words lacked reason—on the contrary, they made too much sense.
Refusing to help the Beastmen Alliance and avoid being dragged into the quagmire was, from a strategic perspective, the wisest choice.
However, hearing such cold words from the elves—who had always been friendly and benevolent to all—was simply unbelievable. The Elven King would never utter something so heartless.
If anything, such words would feel far more natural coming from a so-called villainous race like the dragons.
Regardless of what the delegations were thinking, the Beastman prince had already gone completely insane.
“I warn you, Elven Princess—take back what you just said!! Issue the order and have the other member states help our Beastmen Alliance!”
“I will not issue an order in the name of the alliance leader,” Eve replied. “However, if you independently request military aid from other members, I will not interfere.”
With those words, Eve extinguished the Beastman prince’s final shred of hope.
In such a situation, how could any member state possibly step forward and declare that they would send troops to aid the Beastmen Alliance?
“You damned elves!! Forcing our Beastman race to die, hiding behind righteous words—hypocrites to the extreme! I won’t spare you today!!!”
Blatant killing intent filled the Beastman prince’s eyes. If he did not kill Eve, the rage in his heart would never be quelled.
His muscles bulged violently, his already massive frame swelling another notch.
His murderous aura was fully unleashed, aimed directly at Eve.
Compared to the Beastman prince, the elven princess looked far too slender. Against his towering physique, she seemed as fragile as glass.
“Beastman Prince, I’ll warn you one last time—do not commit violence during the meeting. If you are acting as the representative of the Beastman race, any violent act you commit may be regarded as the Beastman race withdrawing from the Anti–Vampire Clan Alliance,” Eve reminded him coldly.
“So what if we withdraw?! You weren’t going to help us anyway!! Damn you—you’re dead today!!” the Beastman prince cursed.
“The Beastman prince has gone mad!!” someone cried out.
“Your Highness, be careful!!”
The elven guards stationed at the edge of the hall were horrified by the scene and rushed forward together, attempting to block the Beastman prince and protect the elven princess.
“Damn long-ears—get out of my way, all of you!!”
The accompanying Beastman warriors surged forward, shoving aside the elven guards who were trying to protect her.
“Today, no one can save you!! Pay the price for your words and actions!”
The Beastman prince lunged at Eve.
Faced with such ferocious violence, the gray-haired elven princess showed little change in expression. There was no trace of fear on her face—instead, an icy killing intent no less chilling than the Beastman prince’s radiated from her.
Her hand moved slightly.
Boom!
With a deafening crash, the Beastman prince’s fists slammed down, pouring out all his strength under the drive of rage.
“Ahhh!”
Someone in the hall screamed, covering their eyes, unable to bear watching the impending scene of blood and gore.
“Hmph, damned elf—this is the fate you deserve—”
The Beastman prince’s arrogant words came to an abrupt halt.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Magic missiles streaked through the air, striking the Beastman prince’s arm. A burst of icy energy erupted, freezing his limb solid.
“Enough, Beastman Prince.”
Xia Yi stepped forward, holding her rose-shaped staff, standing before the Beastman prince.
In his blind fury, the Beastman prince had completely overlooked the possibility that someone other than the elves would intervene.
“Damn dragon! You dare meddle in this?! Today, I’ll slaughter a dragon!!”
Having utterly lost his reason, the Beastman prince’s power exploded as he let out a thunderous battle roar, shattering the ice encasing his arm.
Once he could move again, he grabbed his weapon, swung his warhammer, and smashed it toward Xia Yi’s small head.
“Tsk, utterly incorrigible…”
Xia Yi clicked her tongue, preparing to pull the elven princess away and evade the attack.
But at that very moment, something completely unexpected happened.
“Huh?”
The little princess merely blinked—and found herself suspended in midair, cradled in Eve’s arms.
She had intended to rescue someone, yet instead she was the one being… princess-carried?
