    Volume 4 + Chapter 124: Minotaur

At first, Xia Yi thought that Tia had failed to persuade her to remain in the human world, had grown angry because of it, and now, upon meeting again, wanted to make things difficult for her.

But in reality, that was not the case.

To be honest, Xia Yi truly had not expected that Tia would help her in such a manner.

“Thank you, Tia…” Xia Yi said softly.

Tia seemed to hear those words. She slightly turned her head and glanced at Xia Yi. A faint change passed through her eyes, but she did not say anything more.

It was only a fleeting moment, so brief that none of the other nations’ delegations noticed it.

    Except for one—

    Yue Liu.

My destined nemesis—y-you, what are you doing with the human Knight King?!

After seeing the exchange of glances between Xia Yi and Tia, to be honest, the little fox suddenly began to feel inexplicably anxious.

    She just felt extremely uncomfortable!

Clearly, Xia Yi was supposed to be the nemesis destined to tangle with her for an entire lifetime, someone who should be paying her full attention.

Yet now, she had pushed her aside and was exchanging meaningful looks with another girl instead.

The little fox was so anxious she was practically frantic, feeling as though she might rush forward, grab Xia Yi by the wrist, and demand—“What about me, then?!”

“Huh? Fox Radish, what’s wrong with you?”

Xia Yi suddenly noticed that Yue Liu’s expression had turned strange. For no apparent reason, she had become visibly irritated, her ears nearly standing straight up as she stared unblinkingly at her.

This left the young princess completely baffled.

Did I do something strange that made Fox Radish angry?

“Fox Radish, hurry up and announce the successful formation of the Anti–Vampire Ancestor Alliance,” Xia Yi reminded her. “Don’t drag this out.”

    “Ugh…!”

The little fox felt miserable, but in such a formal and solemn setting, it was not a time to throw a tantrum. She could only endure it for now.

Hmph. My destined nemesis, remember this well—completely ignoring me like that is an inexplicable insult!

In the future, I will definitely make you repay this a hundredfold!

“Ahem. Since no nation opposes the Dragon Clan’s entry into the Anti–Vampire Ancestor Alliance, then—”

Just as Yue Liu was about to make the announcement, a deep, booming voice suddenly shouted in opposition.

    “No! I don’t agree!!”

Xia Yi let out a sigh. Joining the Anti–Vampire Ancestor Alliance really was proving to be a journey full of twists and turns.

Everyone turned their gaze toward the source of the voice. When they saw that figure, they were all somewhat surprised.

A minotaur stood before them. His massive body radiated power, his breathing heavy and forceful. Each step he took struck the ground with tremendous weight, giving the illusion that the earth itself was shaking, exuding a savage and domineering presence.

He was the chieftain of the Minotaur Tribe—Mack Bloodhoof!

“Chieftain!!” The minotaurs exclaimed in unison.

The minotaur chieftain glanced at Xia Yi, snorted coldly, and shouted once more, “I represent the Minotaur Tribe in openly opposing the Dragon Clan’s entry into the Anti–Vampire Ancestor Alliance!!”

“Why?” Yue Liu asked. “Chieftain Mack, what is the Minotaur Tribe’s reason for opposing this? If we reject the Dragon Clan and force them to ally with the Vampire Ancestor instead, wouldn’t that simply mean we gain yet another enemy?”

“There’s no why! I just don’t like it! I disagree—since when does disagreement need so many reasons? If I have to give one, then it’s just one word—”

The minotaur chieftain stomped heavily on the ground, sending dust flying everywhere.

    “I’m not convinced!!”

The representatives of the various nations were not surprised at all.

    Not convinced.

If anything, it was very much in line with the Minotaur Tribe’s style.

“Why should a little runt like you represent the Dragon Clan? If the Dragon Clan wants to join the Anti–Vampire Ancestor Alliance, then let the Dragon Queen come in person and show sufficient sincerity! Otherwise, forget it!!”

The minotaur chieftain pointed at Xia Yi and roared,

“Hurry up and go home—go find your mommy!!”

    “Little runt?!”

Xia Yi’s cheek twitched violently. What was this guy even saying?!

So what if I’m not tall? Did I eat your family’s rice?!

    “Hahaha.”

Hearing this, the representatives of the various nations burst into laughter.

The minotaurs of the Minotaur Tribe echoed loudly, “The chieftain is right! We support you!”

“That’s right! If the Dragon Clan wants to join the Anti–Vampire Ancestor Alliance, let the Dragon Queen come—don’t send a mascot instead!”

“This isn’t some children’s game, you know!”

Such voices grew louder and more numerous.

The Minotaur race held extreme reverence and awe for the earth, and they possessed an innate dislike for races that constantly soared through the skies.

Especially Mack Bloodhoof. As a minotaur through and through, his hatred for the Dragon Clan reached an extreme. Dragons always looked down upon the land from on high—this, to him, was nothing short of blasphemy against the earth itself.

    Anger!

    Anger!

    Anger!!

Xia Yi was furious. This damn minotaur—he was mocking her?!

“Are you looking down on this princess?!”

“Yes! So what?!” the minotaur chieftain shouted. “If you’ve got the ability, then beat me into submission!”

“Fine! Today, I’ll beat up you minotaurs!”

    Xia Yi accepted the challenge.

“All irrelevant personnel, step back! Do not interfere with the duel. If you get caught in the crossfire, I won’t take responsibility!” the minotaur chieftain bellowed at the surroundings.

The onlookers quickly retreated to the sides, clearing out a vast open area.

    The duel began.

The minotaurs beat their war drums from the sidelines.

The minotaur chieftain did not launch an attack immediately. Instead, speaking in some unknown tongue, he continued chanting while performing a war dance. His enormous body moved with surprising agility, his surging battle intent displayed to its fullest.

Xia Yi knew little about minotaur culture and could not understand it at all. However, at this moment, she was extremely displeased.

    “Rose Staff!”

After a brief incantation, the Rose Staff appeared in Xia Yi’s hand.

“Hmph, a mage? Ridiculous. If you think you can cast magic in this duel, that’s nothing but a pipe dream!”

The minotaur chieftain launched the first attack, charging straight toward Xia Yi. His brute force plowed a deep trench into the ground, shockwaves flattening everything in their path.

The minotaur chieftain showed no mercy whatsoever. Any enemy weaker than him would be torn apart by the shockwave, their life snuffed out in an instant.

    “Earth-Shaking Wave!”

Powerhouses of every race focused their attention. Everyone was curious—what kind of spell would the Silver Dragon Princess use to respond?

After all, in this battle, using magic to confront the minotaur chieftain was fundamentally impossible.

A mage facing a warrior head-on was nothing but an egg striking a stone.

Yet, to everyone’s astonishment, something unexpected happened.

Xia Yi did not move, nor did she circulate her magic to prepare a spell. Facing the charging minotaur, she instead declared something shocking.

“Isn’t it just a minotaur? Watch me push him back!!”
