Volume 4 + Chapter 116: Pre-War  

Deliberations.  

The silver-haired loli walked through the halls of the dragon clan’s imperial palace, so furious she resembled a pufferfish, looking as if she might explode at any second.  

“Elizabeth, you’re getting far too ahead of yourself. So what if you’ve mended your bloodline? What’s there to be so arrogant about?!”  

Xia Yi gnashed her teeth.  

“That wretched woman actually wants me to put on a beautiful wedding dress, go to the Crimson Empire, and serve as her blood bag?”  

To do nothing every day, just lying around to be bitten by the Vampire Ancestor, kept confined, living a life where clothes are handed to you and meals are served to your mouth—this was simply…  

An insult!!  

For Xia Yi, who possessed the unyielding soul of a Sword Saint, this completely challenged her bottom line.  

She was one thousand percent a pure, tough man. How could she possibly go wear a wedding dress?  

“Xia Lulu, I’m going to raze the Crimson Empire to the ground!!”  

Xia Yi pushed open the door to Xia Lulu’s office and declared with intense fervor.  

Xia Lulu’s thoughts returned from the depths of the sea near Golde to the present reality. Looking at her fuming daughter, she felt somewhat curious.  

“Daughter, why are you so angry?”  

“Xia Lulu, you must know by now, right? The vampire clan has declared war on our dragon clan!!” Xia Yi said. “The declaration notice has already been delivered to the dragon imperial palace!”  

“Mmm, I know,” Xia Lulu replied.  

In fact, Lucia had already reported this matter in the morning. However, she felt the situation near Golde was more pressing, so she had postponed dealing with this issue for a while.  

Coincidentally, her daughter had now come, so they could discuss it together.  

“Xia Yi, it’s actually not just against our dragon clan. The vampire clan has simultaneously declared war on all countries across this land. It should be today, almost every nation with even a modicum of influence has likely received this declaration of war,” Xia Lulu stated.  

“Ah…?”  

Xia Yi was momentarily stunned.  

Because this sounded utterly absurd.  

This situation of being at war with the entire world had only happened once before in history: the Dragon War.  

Back then, the dragon clan stood against all the myriad races of the world single-handedly.  

But the Dragon War and this current action by the vampire clan are different.  

That time, the dragon clan was forced into conflict with all races.  

Initially, the scale of the war wasn’t vast, but as hostilities progressed, the enemy dragged more and more foreign races into the war, eventually forming a grand alliance against the dragon clan to exert pressure and force their surrender.  

However, the radical Dragon King Glen was unwilling to compromise or seek peace, could not bear to see the dignity of the dragon clan trampled, and chose to fight on, even if it meant plunging the entire world into the flames of war.  

Thus, the Dragon War was born.  

Yet, the vampire clan is directly entering a state of hostility with all nations from the outset, not even requiring alliances. It’s an entirely different matter.  

What kind of behavior is this?  

“Today isn’t April Fool’s Day, is it?” Xia Yi muttered.  

“Unfortunately, it is not an April Fool’s joke. The war has officially begun. The troll clan, originally stationed at the Crimson Empire’s border, seemed to be observing the situation there. The vampire clan mobilized their army, encountered the troll forces at the border, and without any negotiation or attempt to persuade them to withdraw, launched an attack. Leaving no room, they completely annihilated all the troll soldiers. This is unequivocally the attitude taken towards an enemy nation.”  

Xia Lulu explained further:  

“The troll clan has publicly expressed fury and declared war on the vampire clan. Some races with longstanding grievances against the vampires have also immediately announced a formal state of hostility and are beginning to take concrete action against the vampires’ war efforts.”  

“…So Elizabeth was serious after all.”  

Xia Yi had thought she was just boasting. Was she truly starting to conquer this land?  

“Xia Yi, what were you so angry about earlier?” Xia Lulu asked.  

“Xia Lulu, look here! She’s bullying me!!”  

Xia Yi produced the declaration of war notice, torn in two.  

After reading the message on it, Xia Lulu was visibly displeased.  

“This is pure provocation.”  

“Xia Lulu, we must also declare war on the vampire clan and make that wretched woman pay the price she deserves.”  

“That goes without saying. Let us declare war.”  

“Hmm…”  

After hearing Xia Lulu’s agreement, Xia Yi’s emotions calmed somewhat instead.  

“Xia Yi, shouldn’t your reaction be a bit more intense?”  

“I was just… venting,” Xia Yi replied. “These matters of state should be approached cautiously. After all, this is war, not child’s play.”  

“Daughter, you continue to surprise me. To be so thoughtful and circumspect—you truly are a qualified dragon princess now.”  

“N-no, that’s not it…!” Xia Yi quickly waved her hands, beginning to make excuses. “War is no trivial matter. If something goes wrong and the dragon clan faces major issues, you might not remain dragon queen. Your state of mind would be affected, your strength would decline, and then if I defeated you, it would be a hollow victory without real meaning! That’s the only reason I’m considering this!”  

“It’s fine. I had already intended to respond to the vampires with this stance. However, our Dragon Kingdom’s situation is different from other foreign races. We won’t immediately enter a state of total war either.”  

Xia Lulu couldn’t help but smile slightly at her daughter’s masterful stubbornness.  

“It’s impossible for the vampire clan to easily cross the numerous nations and races and march straight to the north. They would at least have to conquer the countries in between first.”  

Xia Yi thought about it and realized that was indeed the case.  

The geographical location of the Dragon Kingdom held a natural advantage.  

Rather than sending troops out immediately, it was better to hold their position within the country and await the enemy’s arrival.  

Occupying a strategic natural stronghold, resting while the enemy labors, they could then strike and defeat them.  

Xia Lulu analyzed: “However, since Elizabeth has publicly revealed her identity as the Vampire Ancestor, it means she likely has full confidence in waging this war. Joshua’s plan must have succeeded…”  

“I think so too!”  

“Then, our dragon clan should also begin to take action.”  

“What should we do next?” Xia Yi inquired. “I want to take down that wretched woman and rescue Miu Miu!”  

“I believe it won’t be long before Elizabeth begins to demonstrate her power, shocking everyone and subsequently spreading fear. The foreign races will then form an alliance. At that time, we shall join that alliance,” Xia Lulu explained. “Therefore, our dragon clan must first respond to the declaration of war, stating our position. Subsequently, we will utilize the alliance to defeat the Vampire Ancestor.”  

“That’s truly a good idea. This way, we only need to contribute a small portion of our military force and can avoid massive casualties!”  

Xia Yi affirmed this point.  

It was indeed an excellent plan.  

“However, how our dragon clan enters the alliance will be a problem that needs solving… Let’s observe the situation for now,” Xia Lulu said.  

“Alright!” Xia Yi nodded.

After some deliberation, the future plan was essentially finalized.  

Next, Xia Lulu would convene a meeting with the other ministers in the court to announce this matter.  

After the conversation ended, Xia Yi took her leave from Xia Lulu.  

Xia Lulu stood up, looking out the window. Reflected in the glass was her daughter’s figure, pulling open the room’s door, about to leave.  

But then, she suddenly noticed something bizarre. Her pupils constricted sharply.  

“That thing on Xia Yi’s tail… what is it?!”
