Volume 3 Chapter 261
by Need_More_SleepVolume 3 + Chapter 261: Epilogue
“Let us out!!”
“Let us out! We are not traitors to humanity!!”
The head of the Gibran family, and at the same time Hill’s father, stood gripping the prison bars, shouting loudly.
Hill’s mother wore a face full of sorrow and let out a sigh.
Hill sat silently in the corner.
Her family members had been imprisoned for quite some time. This life has gone on for a while now.
The reason was that the Gibran family had been accused of betraying humanity.
“We have always diligently governed our territory. We even spent our own money to offer bounties to eliminate monsters, all to help the local people! Let me see His Majesty the King!! I have given my strength for the Rhine Kingdom, I have shed blood for the Rhine Kingdom!!”
Even after being locked up for so long, whenever Hill’s father had finished eating and regained some strength, he would shout like this for a long time.
The Gibran family, though not as dominant as the Four Great Families who could cover the sky with one hand, was still considered a prestigious house, having passed down its lineage for many generations, and held its honor in high regard.
Suddenly being branded with the crime of betraying humanity—how could they possibly accept that?
However, though Hill’s father had shouted for so long, the Templar Order had always ignored them.
“Daughter, what on earth is the reason?” Hill’s father asked in utter confusion. “Why must we suffer like this?”
The reason?
Hill knew very well in her heart.
It was most likely because of her teacher.
The Templar Order claimed that Xia Yi had suddenly turned traitor. Since Xia Yi had studied at Laurel Academy before, and she herself had been her student… naturally suspicion would fall upon her.
Thud.
The door outside opened, and several members of the Templar Order stepped in.
“The Fearless Knight?!”
Seeing the Grand Knight Commander of the Templar Order, Hill’s father was startled.
“Could it be that they’re here to execute us?!”
Hill immediately stood up, shielding her parents behind her, watching the Templars warily.
The Fearless Knight walked up to the cell, used sacred arts, and unlocked their shackles.
“Members of the Gibran family, you are free.”
“It’s over?” Hill’s father widened his eyes in surprise.
“Yes.”
The Fearless Knight nodded.
“Wonderful, my dear!” Hill’s mother burst into tears of joy.
Hill’s father also breathed a sigh of relief. They were not here to kill him, but to release them. Finally, they could leave this prison.
“What about the Silver Edge Knight?” Hill asked in confusion. “He said earlier that he wanted to have us executed…”
“He is dead.”
“Dead?!”
Hill was incredulous.
The Grand Knight Commander of the Templar Order held an extremely high position—how could he simply be dead?
“The Silver Edge Knight was judged by Our King, and died under that judgment.”
“Lord Glory Knight is truly wise!” Hill’s father praised repeatedly.
“No. The Glory Knight is no longer the Knight King. Our King now is Lady Tia Frost,” the Fearless Knight explained.
“She became the Knight King?!”
Hill was greatly astonished.
“By the way, what about Xia Yi?”
“The Silver Dragon Xia Yi has vanished. After the Black Swan Incident, she disappeared from the human world.”
“The Black Swan Incident…”
Hill recalled what the Silver Edge Knight had said before. Apparently her teacher had, in Black Swan City, fought a bloody battle against the Templar Order, turning the place into a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood…
“The Gibran family, we sincerely apologize. From now on, the Templar Order will actively help restore your family’s reputation and grant compensation,” the Fearless Knight said with a formal bow of apology.
“Good, good, good! Fearless Knight, since you can clear our name, then our Gibran family can finally rest easy!” Hill’s father said with a smile.
Hill stood to the side, her emotions complex.
From the current attitude of the Templar Order, she could tell that enormous changes must have taken place within their ranks.
During the time she had been imprisoned, the human world had undergone earth-shaking transformations.
Her earlier experiences had already taught her, things heard from others were not necessarily trustworthy.
She felt that she ought to investigate everything clearly herself before making any judgments.
…
…
Yue Liu had returned to Laurel Academy.
“Have you heard? Teacher Hill seems to have been acquitted. They said before that she was a traitor to humanity, but it was all a misunderstanding.”
“Yeah, Teacher Hill should be able to return to our Laurel Academy soon. Everyone’s been very worried about her.”
“The former Glory Knight has retired, and now Lady Knight Princess has become the new Knight King.”
“Sigh, speaking of which, it seems Teacher Biden has recently been hit hard. He looks like he really hates Xia Yi, but deep down he actually cares about her a lot…”
The students of Laurel Academy were discussing recent events.
When Yue Liu walked past, everyone showed her looks of admiration.
After all, being able to spend so much time with Xia Yi and come out unharmed was quite a feat.
But Yue Liu paid little attention to their gazes.
“To have me stand before a puppet king and say that I couldn’t defeat my rival? I clearly had the strength—defeating her would’ve been easy!!”
The little fox recalled going to the Rhine Kingdom’s Palace to explain, fabricating a story that she hadn’t been able to beat Xia Yi and had let her escape. At the time, the looks the humans gave her were simply…
Unbearable!!
Hmph.
“My rival, the fated bond between us grows ever deeper. Next time… new grudges and old, I will settle them all!!”
She swore silently in her heart.
But first, the priority was to destroy the bedsheet that had left her utterly humiliated!
Thinking of this, the little fox dashed off, running toward the dormitory.
…
…
One month later.
The Dragon Kingdom.
“Your Highness, we’ve arrived.”
From the skies, a dragon descended upon the capital.
“Mm! Alright, thank you!”
A silver-haired dragon girl leapt down from the dragon’s back.
Xia Yi had left the Rhine Kingdom by waterway aboard the fox tribe’s great ship. Just as Yue Liu had said, she had the fox clan dock the ship, left behind a note at the right moment, and slipped away.
The rest was simple: find any kingdom, take a ship back to Blackstone Kingdom, and from Blackstone Kingdom return to the Dragon Kingdom.
At the Dragon Kingdom’s border, when the dragons saw Xia Yi, they had originally intended to notify the royal palace to come to receive her.
But Xia Yi refused. She wanted to give the palace folk a surprise.
So she had the border guards quietly escort her back.
“Your Highness, I still have guard duties to perform, so I’ll be leaving now.”
“Mm, go on~”
Xia Yi nodded.
She stood in the Dragon Capital, gazing toward the splendid Dragon Palace.
Though this journey had seen much and cost much time, at last, she had returned.
A smile appeared upon the little princess’s face.
“Hehehe, when I suddenly show up in the Dragon Palace, everyone… will surely be shocked!”
