Volume 3 Chapter 240
by Need_More_SleepVolume 3 + Chapter 240: Wanted
Hill was organizing lesson plans in her office when Biden knocked on the door and walked in.
“Teacher Biden? You actually came looking for me on your own?”
At first, Hill found it strange. Why would Biden come to her on his own during the lunch break?
“Teacher Hill, look at this!”
Biden placed a newspaper in front of her.
Hill picked it up, and after seeing the contents on it, her expression showed surprise.
“How could it be like this!?”
The content published on it was far too shocking.
It was about the fact that the Human Sword Saint, Wright Schubert, had fallen and become one of the Dragons.
Not long ago, the great news had spread that the true Human Sword Saint had returned. But later, it was said that the Sword Saint had already fallen, that he was a traitor that the Dragons had tried to plant within humanity.
“Teacher Hill, is this really Xia Yi?” Biden’s face was full of disbelief. “She disappeared for so long recently, she hasn’t shown up at all…”
During this period, Hill had also been searching for Xia Yi’s whereabouts.
She had not seen her own teacher all this time, and didn’t know where she had gone.
After investigating a little, all she learned was that Xia Yi had been to Rhine Alchemy.
Hill had gone to Rhine Alchemy to inquire several times, but the other party claimed they didn’t know.
This troubled her greatly. She always felt Rhine Alchemy wasn’t telling the truth, but with her family background and influence, she couldn’t forcibly pry open Rhine Alchemy’s mouth…
Just as she was preparing to negotiate under the name of Laurel Academy, she now saw this news.
“Xia Yi is the Human Sword Saint, and the Human Sword Saint has already fallen. It’s really difficult to accept.” Biden’s mood was complicated.
Of course Hill knew that Xia Yi was her teacher, and that she was in fact the Human Sword Saint Wright Schubert.
At the same time, she also knew a detail that drew her attention.
That was that Xia Yi’s black hair was just a disguise — in reality, she had silver hair.
This matched perfectly with the appearance of the Dragon individual published in the paper, fitting her suspicions very well. And this silver-haired loli dragon figure… she seemed to have seen it somewhere before…
“Golde!?”
Hill suddenly stood up.
She remembered — at that time in Golde she had indeed seen a long-haired silver-haired girl, on the beach of the coastal city. That girl had also claimed to have met the Human Sword Saint, and looked practically identical to the dragon shown in the newspaper.
Her teacher had become a member of the Dragons — that was a fact.
“I must go find her!!”
Hill threw the newspaper onto the desk and left the office.
“Teacher Hill! Teacher Hill! Where are you planning to go!!” Biden shouted after her.
But Hill paid no attention to those voices at all.
She now had only one thought — to rush to her teacher’s side as quickly as possible.
No matter whether her teacher was part of the Dragons or not, she would stand at Xia Yi’s side.
It was just that in the current situation, others might not accept this fact, and might even develop hostility toward Xia Yi.
At such a time, her teacher really needed help.
As a student, Hill naturally bore that responsibility without hesitation.
She left Laurel Academy and went all the way out of Laurel City.
Not long after leaving the city gates, she encountered Temple Knights waiting for her.
“Miss Hill, we have been waiting for you for a long time,” said the Silver Edge Knight.
“You people…”
Hill immediately became alert, and at the same time gripped her weapon.
“This is Laurel Academy’s territory. What do you intend to do?”
“Allow me to introduce myself. I am the Silver-Edge Knight of the Temple Knight Order. Don’t worry, Miss Hill, we mean no harm, nor would we take violent action on Laurel Academy’s grounds. That would cause unnecessary trouble,” the Silver Edge Knight’s voice was gentle. “We are not like that impostor, we won’t act recklessly. We simply have some things we’d like to discuss with you.”
“I have nothing to discuss with you! Out of the way!”
Hill disliked these people greatly.
Since Xia Yi’s identity was exposed, the Temple Knights were surely the ones fanning the flames behind the scenes.
If they were here to stop her, she didn’t mind making a move, even if the other side was one of the four great knights of the Temple Order.
“Very well, Miss Hill. Since you are unwilling, then we shall step aside. Everyone, fall back!”
At the Silver-Edge Knight’s command, the Temple Knights all withdrew to both sides of the road.
Hill couldn’t understand what these people were planning, but she didn’t want to linger either, so she walked past them.
She hadn’t gone far when a familiar voice came from behind.
“Hill, why are the Temple Knights trying to arrest us in the name of betraying the human world?”
“Yeah, talk to them properly, explain it clearly. Our Gibran family hasn’t done anything at all!”
It was the voices of her father and mother.
Hill hurriedly turned her head.
She saw in the Silver Edge Knight’s hand a magical crystal orb.
This was an expensive magical material that could record images and sounds inside it.
Projected on it was the scene of the Gibran family head — Hill’s father and mother — surrounded by Temple Knights.
“You… what have you done to my father and mother!?” Hill shouted angrily.
“Nothing at all, Miss Hill. We only invited them over for some tea,” the Silver Edge Knight explained. “As your parents themselves said, there may be some small misunderstandings between us of the Temple Knight Order and yourself. This time, we merely wish to politely invite you over to clear up those misunderstandings.”
“Seizing my parents and threatening me — you call that polite?”
“I respect you. If you are willing, that would be best. If you are unwilling, you may leave. After all, this is Laurel Academy’s grounds, and we will not hinder you here.”
The Silver Edge Knight’s unspoken meaning was that if Hill simply left like this, then her parents would be in danger.
“You’re truly despicable. Doing such things and still calling it knightly spirit? Shameful!”
“Say whatever you will. The choice is yours,” the Silver-Edge Knight said unhurriedly. “As I said, we only want to talk and clear up the misunderstandings, Miss Hill.”
Hill gritted her teeth and put her weapon away.
She couldn’t just ignore her parents.
I’m sorry, Teacher. For now, I cannot come find you…
…
…
Rhine Kingdom, a certain city.
In an alchemy materials shop.
The shop owner was flipping through a newspaper, clicking his tongue in wonder. “A human hero actually defected to the Dragon Race? These days, this person’s bounty is sky-high. Wanted posters everywhere…”
“Boss, I’d like to purchase some alchemy materials.”
“Hm?”
The alchemy shop owner heard a melodious, slightly childish voice. He looked up and saw a girl in a black robe, her whole body wrapped in the loose robe so that her appearance couldn’t be seen, making her look quite suspicious.
“To purchase materials, I’ll need to see your Alchemist’s License.”
“No problem, boss.”
The girl placed the Alchemist’s License on the counter.
The shop owner took it, looked carefully, and read out the name on it.
“Xia Yi – Lawrence… ah!! You are—!!”
Just as he was about to cry out loudly, the Rose Staff swung toward him.

[Author’s Note:]
Regarding Humanity’s Upper Echelons
The human world’s upper echelons are divided into four factions:
[1] Temple Knight Order – Frost Family
[2] Rhine Alchemy – Morrison Family
[3] Rhine Cabinet – Schubert Family
[4] Rhine Commerce – Rothschild Family [This faction doesn’t play much of a role in the story, in the setting they mainly manage commerce.]
The goals of the four families:
Temple Knight Order: Their goal is to have the Knight Princess ascend to kingship. The Knight King does not care about the Sword Saint of humanity. The Sword Saint isn’t critical, with or without one, they are no match for the Dragons. The key is the Human King. Once a Human King is born, only then can humanity possibly rise again as a higher race. The Human King Project is unknown to the other families.
Rhine Alchemy: Their goal is to use alchemy technology to research the Dragons. On the surface, it is to create mixed-bloods to oppose the dragons, but in reality, they hope through this research to grant the upper echelons of their family immortality. First achieve eternal life, and only later slowly figure out how to fight the Dragons.
Rhine Cabinet: Their goal is to use the influence of the Human Sword Saint to strengthen their family’s influence in the Rhine Kingdom, maintaining their own political status, thinking that they are leading the other families to serve their interests.
Rhine Commerce: Their goal is simply to earn more money. They hope humanity will have the strength to wage war against the Dragons, so they can profit from war. At present, they are investing in and funding the other families.
The four factions together form humanity’s upper echelons. It’s like a classroom with four homeroom teachers muddling along together, shouting slogans about overthrowing the experimental class, while each secretly has their own little calculations.
