Volume 3 Chapter 238
by Need_More_SleepVolume 3 + Chapter 238: Tia Frost’s Firm Belief
“Very well, my granddaughter. Then let grandfather first hear—what request could be worth making you set aside your own dignity?”
The Knight King gazed at his granddaughter, Tia Frost.
From childhood, Tia had always been an understanding child. Especially after realizing her responsibilities, it was as if she cast away all personal desires.
She had not even gone through a rebellious phase. Everything was dedicated to her cause and what she strove for.
Even when an engagement was arranged for her, she voiced no complaint or resistance.
Witnessing his granddaughter’s growth all the way, the Knight King could understand the weight these words carried for Tia.
“Thank you, grandfather…”
Tia was deeply grateful.
She fell silent for a moment, then said.
“Grandfather, please give Wright a chance!”
“Give that dragon a chance?” The Knight King frowned, displeased.
“Granddaughter, you should know very well that dragons are our enemies, yes?”
Others might only understand the hatred between humans and dragons on the level of instinct.
But it was different for the Holy Spear Bearer. The Holy Spear Bearer inherited the will of the hero, and naturally knew of the vile acts the dragons had once inflicted upon humanity.
“Of course I know, grandfather! Not for a moment have I ever forgotten the hatred toward dragons, as a descendant of the Human King!”
“Then why speak such words? Do you wish us to spare an evil dragon?” the Knight King pressed.
Even if she was his granddaughter, this was a matter of principle.
“No,” Tia shook her head. “Grandfather, Wright is not a dragon! Wright’s heart is still human!”
“Why do you believe so?”
“Grandfather, Wright can still wield the Holy Sword. The Holy Sword only recognizes human souls. That fact—you should know well!”
Tia explained.
“Once, outsiders tried to wrest away our human Sword Saint, but no matter what methods were used, they never succeeded.”
“This… I am, of course, aware.”
“Then, since Wright can still wield the Holy Sword, still bears the Holy Sword’s imprint—what better proof is there!”
Tia continued defending the one most important to her.
“Besides, with Wright’s strength, if he truly wished to become an evil dragon… then Wright could easily slaughter humans at will. Yet Wright has not done so. That proves Wright’s soul is still the original soul!”
“I do not deny this. I have heard the reports that the dragon indeed did not actively harm anyone, only passively resisted battle.”
“Yes, grandfather!! Wright must have suffered some event, which caused him to become a dragon, but his heart and soul remain unchanged!” Tia declared firmly. “His inner stance is still on humanity’s side! So, please grant me—and Wright—a chance!”
“My granddaughter, what do you intend to do?”
Tia took a deep breath. “I will meet with Wright, and then bring him back to our human world. We should accept him, not oppose him without understanding his heart.”
“Do you truly think this way?”
“Yes.”
Tia nodded.
“Wright has helped me many times, even saved my life. If he truly betrayed humanity, why would he do such things? At Laurel Academy, Wright still acted as a hero to save everyone! This proves Wright’s heart is still aligned with humanity. He must have been used, or forced, by evil dragons into his current state.”
“…Granddaughter, why go so far?” the Knight King asked, puzzled.
“Wright must have his hardships. That must be it.”
Tia lowered her head, placing both hands over her chest.
“All this time, I have been thinking about it. I was too impulsive back then. I never considered his feelings, only vented my own emotions… We can reconcile. Just like before, we can fight together again for humanity’s future.”
“So then, because that dragon has not yet struck humanity, nor harmed humans, for now you judge it not our enemy. Is that your stance?” the Knight King asked again for confirmation.
“Yes, grandfather. To have the power yet not use it against us—that is the best proof, is it not?”
“Then I ask you, if I grant you this chance, to meet again with that dragon—or rather, with Wright—and he refuses your proposal?”
“I…”
Tia had always believed Wright had not changed, only his appearance. In essence, he was the same.
But if Wright were to refuse?
No. Impossible.
Wright had no reason to refuse.
I will bring him back to the human world, to once again be humanity’s hero!
“He won’t! Grandfather, I believe in Wright! Precisely because I believe this, I dare ask you. Otherwise, I would never have brought this request!”
“…Very well.” The Knight King nodded. “Tia, I watched you grow up. I can understand what determination it took for you to say this. I cannot bear to see you sad. Do as you will, Tia. Since I am your grandfather, I will support you.”
“Thank you, grandfather!”
Tia’s face broke into a smile.
The Knight King walked to her side, gently patting her head. “I will find a way to suppress matters within the Order. In the meantime, act quickly. Bring Wright back.”
Tia had not expected her grandfather to support her so. At first, she had not even dared to hope.
“Yes, grandfather. I will definitely bring Wright back to our human world!”
…
Tia left the temple. The Knight King returned to his high seat.
From the side, a figure appeared.
A knight clad in silver armor—one of the Four Great Knights of the Holy Order. The Silver Edge Knight. Unlike the Fearless Knight, who excelled in warfare, the Silver Edge Knight was mainly responsible for stability and order within the Rhine Kingdom.
“Lord Knight King.”
The Silver Edge Knight saluted from below.
He did not quite understand why the Knight King had especially permitted him to observe the private conversation between grandfather and granddaughter.
Perhaps, the Knight King wished him to understand the Knight Princess’s situation, so that he might better aid her.
“Silver Edge Knight, you have something to report, do you not?”
“Yes, Lord Knight King.” The Silver Edge Knight bowed deeply. “Please rest assured. Regarding the matter of Human Sword Saint Wright becoming a dragon, we have already fully suppressed and contained the news, cutting off any possibility of its spread. This way, no adverse influence will occur, and it will also help Knight Princess persuade the Human Sword Saint to return to—”
“No.”
The Knight King coldly cut him off.
He issued an order that was utterly baffling.
After hearing it, the Silver Edge Knight was left filled with confusion and bewilderment.
“Lord Knight King, did you not just agree to the Knight Princess’s request? Why then issue such a command!?”
