Volume 4 + Chapter 71: Before Departure

Xia Yi and Elly arrived at the outskirts of the Far North Lands.

“Hup!”

The silver-haired little lolita jumped down from the back of the green dragon, landing on the snowy ground and leaving two small craters.

“Your Highness, let’s wait here. The people from the Northern Mining Field should arrive soon,” Elly said, having transformed back into her human form.

At this moment, the two were at Wei Bei City, the city closest to the Far North Lands.

The Far North could be said to be demarcated by Wei Bei City. Beyond it lay the area of the Dragon Kingdom that was still habitable, ahead lay the extremely harsh environment of the Far North Lands.

Before the Northern Mining Field was established, the dragon race would station a certain number of dragon guards in Wei Bei City to prevent their citizens from crossing the city and venturing deeper into the Far North.

“When will the people from the Northern Mining Field arrive, approximately?” Xia Yi inquired.

“Your Highness, they should be here within half an hour.”

“Your Highness, would you like to buy a new set of clothes?” Elly suggested.

“Change clothes?”

Xia Yi looked down at what she was wearing.

Ever since leaving Fika City, the snowfall has almost never ceased.

Yet, she was still wearing the casual-style outfit from when she first left the Dragon Royal Palace, a high-waisted overall for the top, and thin white over-the-knee socks below…

It did seem overly out of place in this polar region.

“Your Highness, aren’t you cold?” Elly proposed. “Perhaps you should change.”

“Now that you mention it… yes, a bit!”

Only then did Xia Yi realize she had been wearing such thin clothes all along—no wonder she kept feeling hungry!

Dragons had strong physical constitutions and were more cold-resistant than other races, but they also had a drawback, high energy consumption.

Once cold, the body’s energy consumption would increase sharply. Excessive energy consumption would lead to feeling hungry, wanting to eat to replenish…

This would naturally make one feel much hungrier than usual.

If energy were depleted and no food was available for replenishment, naturally, they wouldn’t be able to withstand the cold anymore.

For Elly, it was a common black-and-white themed maid dress, treated with added fluff and thickness. The overall style wasn’t too different from her usual professional maid attire.

Xia Yi, however, was completely transformed from head to toe.

With Elly’s help, the little princess’s beautiful silver hair was styled into a bun, topped with a pure white Cossack hat. She wore a red coat over a light brown sweater.

The front slit of the coat was left open, conveniently covering yet hinting at the white pleated skirt beneath. Below the skirt, for warmth, she wore white sheer tights that clung to her skin, outlining her slender and graceful curves. On her feet were fluffy boots.

Xia Yi’s attire made her look like a snow sprite, quite dreamy yet practical. Of course, the most eye-catching detail of her entire outfit was the single thigh ring on her left leg. The contrast between the white sheer-covered thigh and the black thigh ring was truly the finishing touch.

“Your Highness, you look absolutely beautiful.”

Elly couldn’t help but praise, sounding just like an adoring fan.

“To pick such a suitable outfit in such a short time—this is far more impressive than my trained self!”

“Heh heh heh, of course.”

Xia Yi was very proud, hugging her slightly curving “little rice cakes.”

“In terms of fashion, I’ve already surpassed many females. After all, I’ve undergone a series of royal education—I’m the elite among elites!”

“I will take Your Highness as my goal from now on. I must train myself well!”

As the two chatted, a stranger noticed them and walked over.

“Excuse me, are you two Her Highness the Princess and a maid from the Royal Maid Corps?”

The speaker was a robust middle-aged man with an exceptionally long beard.

“Yes, this is the Silver Dragon Princess, Her Highness Xia Yi! I am… Elly, a member of the Royal Maid Corps! May I ask who you are?” Elly inquired.

Upon hearing Xia Yi’s title, the middle-aged dragon immediately bowed in respect. “My apologies for keeping you waiting, Your Highness. I am from the Northern Mining Field. My name is Chelsea. As per your command, I have come discreetly to escort you to the Northern Mining Field.”

Chelsea then produced a Northern Mining Field staff identification card with his photo on it. It was magically recorded, so any tampering would surely be detected.

Simultaneously, Xia Yi noticed the man was wearing the Northern Mining Field work uniform, so his claim was likely true.

Xia Yi asked, “Did you come alone, Chelsea?”

“No, Your Highness. I have other colleagues waiting for you outside the city. I alone entered the city to find you.”

“Alright, then let’s depart for the Northern Mining Field now.”

“As you command, Your Highness.”

Xia Yi and Elly went together outside the city, where they indeed found a convoy parked. Many individuals dressed similarly to Chelsea were loading cargo, they all appeared to be staff from the Northern Mining Field.

“Your Highness, my apologies, but you may need to wait a little longer,” Chelsea explained. “My colleagues are procuring and loading supplies. Part of it is for consumption during the journey, and another part needs to be transported back to the Northern Mining Field.”

“Is the Northern Mining Field far from here?”

“It is quite a distance. Reaching it without supplies would be difficult.”

Chelsea called out towards a direction.

“Come over quickly, let Her Highness see you!!”

Xia Yi followed Chelsea’s gaze and saw the waterproof tarpaulin on a vehicle stir, from which several figures jumped down.

Upon clearly seeing who Chelsea’s so-called “companions” were, Xia Yi’s eyes widened in surprise.
