Chapter 463: You Fight, I Fight

The Semi-Immortals present felt deeply unsettled by the hatred etched on Fang Lie’s face. Accustomed to their lofty status, they couldn’t tolerate a junior’s arrogance. Only their regard for propriety and Mo Qianxun kept them from striking him down.

As the saying goes, when words clash, even half a phrase is too much. With negotiations deadlocked, the Sword God cast a fleeting glance at Fang Lie before addressing Mo Qianxun. "Junior Brother Mo, shall we proceed to business?"

"Yes, yes! Let’s discuss the matter at hand," Mo Qianxun agreed, snapping to attention. He turned to Fang Lie. "Wait outside—and stay close."

"Since it’s my first visit," Fang Lie ventured, "might I explore the famed East Kunlun?"

Mo Qianxun frowned. "We’re guests. Wandering freely would be improper." Yet his eyes flicked toward the Sword God.

The Sword God couldn’t refuse without seeming petty. To him, a mere Qi Sea cultivator posed no threat. With a dismissive wave, he warned, "Roam as you wish. But heed this—some restricted zones hold deadly traps. Stray carelessly, and you’ll perish."

"Death threats don’t frighten me." Fang Lie clasped his hands. "My thanks, Sect Leader." He departed without another word.

Though Fang Lie loathed East Kunlun, only Dark River Divine Sword was his sworn enemy. Until open war erupted, courtesy must prevail—hence the Sword God’s permission and Fang Lie’s gratitude.

After Fang Lie left, Immortal Lan Shan of West Kunlun chuckled. "Brother, are you truly letting him wander? Should your treasure vault suffer Ghost Realm Sect’s fate…"

    Laughter rippled through the room.

The Sword God snorted. "Junior Brother, don’t equate East Kunlun to those Ghost Realm fools. Even if guided to our vault, he’d leave empty-handed." His confident tone faltered slightly—Fang Lie’s plundering of Ghost Realm Sect’s finest treasures haunted him. East Kunlun’s defenses, though stronger, might not withstand the young man’s cunning.

Mo Qianxun noticed the hesitation. "You stubborn old men!" he chided. "Fang Lie’s reckless but righteous. Persuade him to commit evil? Easier to kill him! The Fang Family’s integrity outshines even your sects’ reputations!"

"Says the man among us," Immortal Lan Shan retorted.

Mo Qianxun sighed. "Your influence taints me."

"Amitābha!" Master Da Fang intoned before spitting theatrically. "Pfah!"

As laughter subsided, Master Bai Quan of Great Thunder Sound Temple grew solemn. "Old Mo, you claimed humility would appease Fang Lie. Why today’s defiance?"

"I said your sect must publicly atone," Mo Qianxun countered. "Not empty words from individuals. Did you think your pride could erase his father’s murder? What arrogance!"

"A public apology?" voices protested. "Our sect’s honor would crumble!"

    "The elders would never consent!"

"Fang Lei demands too much. He lacks sincerity!"

    Many Semi-Immortals voiced their discontent.

Mo Qianxun remained unperturbed. After all had spoken, he said lightly, "Everyone, I know you’re all lofty individuals. If this involved anyone else, even a single bow from one of you could resolve mortal grudges! A Semi-Immortal’s face should suffice. But we’re dealing with Fang Lie – is he ordinary?"

"Outwardly humble yet inwardly peerlessly proud, Fang Lie treated even me as an equal from the start, never groveling. His unyielding nature was innate!" Mo Qianxun sneered. "Combined with the Fang Family’s rigid upbringing, this forged his iron will. I’ll be blunt – I sacrificed my own dignity to secure you all an exit strategy. Losing face through apology beats facing his lethal retaliation!"

"Pah! That whelp couldn’t harm me!" Master Da Fang scoffed.

"Not yet. But when he becomes Semi-Immortal?" Mo Qianxun countered.

"His talent’s noteworthy, but greater geniuses have fallen before." Immortal Lan Shan observed. "Storm clouds gather unpredictably – how likely is this troublemaker’s survival?"

"Near certainty!" Mo Qianxun retorted. "His undying nature ensures it!"

"I don’t believe in undying natures," the Sword God stated. "Survival merely indicates insufficient force!"

Mo Qianxun chuckled. "Senior Brother Sword God, your sword intent transcends mortality. A single strike annihilates body and soul. Shall we wager? Let Fang Lie withstand your blow. Should he perish, I’ll return both the White Dragon Divine Sword and Kunlun Sword Token."

"Truly?" The Sword God’s eyes lit up.

Confidence radiated from the swordsman. His strikes could erase the void itself – destroying not just flesh but true spirit, denying even Reincarnation. Slaying a mere youth seemed certain. Eliminating both future threat and reclaiming sect treasures? Perfect.

"Would I lie at my stature?" Mo Qianxun smirked.

    "Done!" The Sword God declared.

"Wait," Mo Qianxun interrupted. "Your victory brings gains, but your defeat?"

    "What does the boy want?"

"Dark River Divine Sword’s life, naturally."

The Sword God stiffened. Dark River carried his bloodline – no trivial matter.

As he hesitated, Master Da Fang interjected, "Why should the Sword God gamble with juveniles? Let me claim our sect treasure through trial. Should I lose, public apology and disciple punishment follow."

"Let me handle this!" Master Bai Quan cut in. "Same terms!"

    "Me first!"

The six Semi-Immortals erupted in competition. Each believed crushing a Qi Sea cultivator child’s play. None wanted rivals claiming their sect treasures freely when Mo Qianxun would demand Eighth-rank Treasure compensation otherwise.

Even the Sword God joined the fray, pride forgotten. For over an hour, six titans argued while Immortal Qingxu and Mo Qianxun watched.

Suddenly, the Sword God paled. "Disaster strikes!" He vanished through the doorway.

Others froze mid-quarrel before chasing after. What could rattle the unflappable Sword God?
