Chapter 445: Infiltrating the Treasure Vault

"Only capable of dealing with one Fire Tribulation Immortal? That’s barely equivalent to a lightning ball made by a Thunder Tribulation Immortal?" Fang Lie scoffed. "Pathetic!"

"Fool! It’s because your current strength is low," the old bird retorted. "When you grow stronger, slaying Semi-Immortals instantly won’t be impossible!"

"Really?" Fang Lie’s eyes lit up. "What cultivation level would I need?"

"At least a Qi Sea spanning fifty thousand miles!" the old bird drawled. "Keep waiting. Without decades, you’ve no chance."

"Tch, figured as much." Fang Lie sighed. "Enough talk. Let’s focus on tracking Immortal Youhuo first."

For days, Fang Lie maintained surveillance through his blood clone’s special connection, monitoring Immortal Youhuo’s movements.

The auction commenced as planned. The Dao Pattern Heavenly Eye’s appearance caused an uproar, eventually purchased by an anonymous bidder with one Eighth-rank Treasure.

Shortly after the auction, Fang Lie sensed his blood clone being transported vast distances. He could only vaguely detect its direction through mental connection.

Without delay, Fang Lie raced toward the location. The journey being too long for flight alone, he disguised himself and entered Chaos Demon City. Using teleportation arrays across multiple cities, he pinpointed the clone’s location before switching to a third-rank flying chariot – favored transport for Golden Pool and Purple Palace realm cultivators.

After over a day’s travel, he reached a remote border town near Ghost Realm Sect’s headquarters – where his blood clone had been taken. The town teemed with sect disciples.

Posing as a wandering cultivator, Fang Lie settled in an inn. The location’s concealment allowed quick escape via teleportation array… if successful. More likely, exposure would trigger locked arrays across this sect-controlled territory.

But Fang Lie cared little – death would simply return him to Cycle of Fire, while any stolen treasures would transmit directly there. Worth the risk.

Under moonless skies thick with menace, Fang Lie approached the sect’s core. There stood the nine-story Ten Thousand Treasures Pavilion – one of Ghost Realm Sect’s public vaults. Less vital than their secret repositories, yet still formidable.

Each floor corresponded to treasure ranks, ninth level housing Ninth-rank Treasures. The seventh floor sprawled like a labyrinth, hundreds of niches displaying Seventh-rank Treasures, materials, and demon beast eggs behind glowing restrictions.

Connected to the sect’s protective array, each floor bore deadly traps. Only correct jade tokens paired with secret techniques could retrieve items. Any mistake meant instant annihilation – even for Semi-Immortals.

As a major sect controlling million-mile territories for millennia, Ghost Realm Sect’s defenses repelled all thieves… until tonight.

In a niche holding newly-stored black sword, an insignificant treasure pearl at its hilt suddenly ignited. From flames emerged a naked youth with wings, one eye glowing eerie yellow.

No need to ask—this was Fang Lie’s other blood clone.

After discussing with Bird Bro, Fang Lie had decided to use this special treasured sword forged from the Demon Sword and Underworld Dragon Orb to trick the Ghost Realm Sect.

As if guided by the Great Will, everything unfolded exactly as planned. The Demon Sword containing Fang Lie’s blood clone truly made it into the sect’s treasure vault—a stroke of fortune for him and doom for the sect.

Though the wall niche wasn’t cramped, Fang Lie’s sudden emergence left him nearly brushing against the outer protective restrictions. The slightest touch would trigger them, alerting the guarding disciples and dooming the plan.

Fang Lie pressed himself tightly against the inner wall, cautiously contacting Bird Bro. "Bird Bro, I’m in. Smooth so far!"

"Hah! Knew it! You’re blessed with great merit and Heaven’s favor!" Bird Bro crowed. "If anyone else tried this, disaster would strike. Yet here you are, succeeding beyond belief!"

"Smooth? Hardly!" Fang Lie grimaced. "These outer restrictions are too clever—I’m trapped! This must be their vault. If caught, the protective array would crush us. Even you couldn’t withstand it!"

"Which is why I’m staying right here!" Bird Bro cackled.

"Then how do I break these restrictions?" Fang Lie hissed. "I can’t even leave this cage, let alone steal anything!"

"Fool!" snapped Bird Bro. "I’ve got millions of magic spirits. Sending one costs me nothing. These restrictions? Child’s play for my spirit!"

Light flashed as a three-inch Giant Rooster appeared—identical to those that devoured Sword Fortress, just smaller.

"This?" Fang Lie eyed it doubtfully.

"I wield the Benevolence Token!" Bird Bro boasted. "This spirit carries my Soul Fragments. What I know, it knows. Now move!"

Fang Lie shrugged. "Dying here beats doing nothing. Open that restriction!"

The rooster’s crossed eyes already glowed with countless flowing runes—a conduit for the millions of spirits calculating behind it. As Mo Sect’s Ninth-Rank Treasure specialized in restrictions, the vault’s defenses crumbled under its gaze.

After mere breaths, the rooster pecked a precise spot. The restrictions dissolved.

"Five breaths till restoration!" Bird Bro barked. "Grab the sword!"

Fang Lie snatched his Seventh-rank Demon Sword. "Should I teleport this back?"

"No!" Bird Bro snapped. "Teleportation ripples would alert them. No magic use here—not even for clothes!"

"So I’ll roam naked?" Fang Lie groaned.

"You’re thieving, not attending a banquet!" Bird Bro snorted.

Exploring the vault, Fang Lie noted Seventh-rank items. "Shall we take these?"

"Trash!" Bird Bro scoffed. "Only the Dao Pattern Heavenly Eye matters here. Save our moves for the Eighth floor’s Eighth-rank treasures!"

"Ruthless!" Fang Lie grinned. "Lead on!"
