Chapter 346
by fanqienovelChapter 346: The Demon God’s Foolishness
When You You opened her eyes again, her whole body ached like she’d been taken apart and put back together. Yet she felt strangely refreshed. She could clearly sense every bit of energy inside her, knowing exactly how it flowed and worked. It was like these powers had suddenly become a part of her, as natural as breathing.
Before, she’d only been able to use skills to direct her special energy, especially attack types where she could barely control direction and range. No matter how hard she practiced, it never improved much.
But now the energy obeyed her completely. Any spell seemed possible with just a thought – easier than drinking water.
You You blinked. Was this a side effect from that energy outburst?
"You You!" Yuan Qi immediately noticed her waking and grabbed her hand, tension in his voice. "You’re awake! Any pain? Anywhere hurt?"
It took her a moment to recognize the man by her bed. "Yuan Papa?"
She stared. His usual calm appearance was gone – hair messy, robes stained with bloodstains, eyes red like he hadn’t slept. He looked as tightly wound as a drawn bowstring.
"Thank the heavens you’re safe…" After checking her pulse, he finally relaxed and patted her head, guilt flooding his eyes. "This is my fault. I didn’t plan carefully enough."
"Yuan Papa… what happened?" Memories trickled back slowly. "Heaven’s Sacred Mountain…"
She tried getting up but he stopped her. "It’s over. The seal’s complete. Demons are back in the Demon Realm."
"It worked?" Relief washed over her. Then she noticed the absence and asked without thinking, "Where’s Feng Rong?"
Yuan Qi’s hand tightened.
Images flashed through You You’s mind – what she’d seen before collapsing. Her heart dropped. "Feng Rong… he’s the Demon God?"
Yuan Qi nodded, grip firm on her hand.
"But the Nether King said I was the Demon God! Feng Rong’s from the Divine Clan!"
"Neither of us suspected." Coldness flickered in Yuan Qi’s eyes before vanishing. "He must have reincarnated like Ning Rui – no Demon God Presence, sealed memories. That’s how Feng Rong existed."
"So… Feng Rong was just the Demon God’s vessel?" Her chest felt hollow. "Can he come back?"
Yuan Qi stayed silent. The Demon God was Feng Rong’s true self – memories and power had simply returned.
You You’s thoughts churned. She needed answers. "Where is he now?"
"Demon Realm." Yuan Qi smoothed her hair. "The seal holds demons back, but not their god. Once fully awakened…"
"You think he’ll break the seal? Never! He-"
"You You. Feng Rong’s gone."
……
The heaviness in You You’s chest wouldn’t lift. Yuan Papa said the awakened Demon God would soon regain full power, making the seal useless.
But she doubted it. The Demon God wasn’t some ordinary demon. Like the Nether King, he existed on Heavenly Dao’s level. Such beings probably didn’t care about invading the Three Realms.
The Nether King had mentioned that even during the last World-destroying Calamity, the Demon God never tried conquering the Six Realms. If he did, the Heavenly Dao and Nether King would interfere.
Still, You You knew he’d return. Just not this soon…
"Caught you, little thief."
She opened her eyes to see a breathtaking face inches away. Crimson eyes glinted with cold amusement from a chair beside her bed. The icy stare made her scramble backward.
"Awake?" The Demon God’s lips curled in mockery.
"…Feng Rong." She searched the unfamiliar features for any trace she knew.
"Feng Rong?" He paused, then smirked. "Ah, my puppet’s name."
"You remember!"
"We’re the same. Of course I remember." He waved dismissively. "Just foolishness from when my memory was sealed. Not worth mentioning."
Foolishness?
The word stung.
He leaned closer with a devastating smile full of malicious intent. "You don’t think I’d spare you over some puppet’s attachment?"
Demonic Energy swirled around him. "You still owe me a life, girl."
"What?"
His hand shot out. "Let’s discuss repayment in the Demon Realm."
You You dodged, but already at the bed’s edge, she lost balance and fell.
Before she could catch herself, he moved faster than sight. In a flash, he caught and pulled her against his chest, scolding automatically, "Why move so carelessly? You’ll get hurt!"
You You: "……"
Feng Rong: "……"
