Chapter 311: The Resentful Souls of the Divine Clan

    What happened?

Was the Demon King’s seal blind? Why did it fly to her hand? She’s not even from demon tribes! You You stared blankly at the little snake coiling around her wrist, desperately trying to shake off the creature that was hardening into a bracelet.

"Chirp chirp!" The tiny winged serpent tightened its grip, tail looping around her pinky finger like stubborn cling-wrap.

She turned to the three men ahead. "Help! I don’t know why this is happening!"

They moved to assist when BOOM – an icy wave of darkness exploded from the black sphere, blasting everyone backward.

You You forgot about the snake. The sphere they’d contained earlier now spewed bone-chilling darkness that reeked of bloodlust. Piercing wails filled the chamber, making even Yuan Qi and Feng Rong grimace in pain.

"Resentment." Yuan Qi’s eyes widened at the swirling black mist overpowering the Demonic Energy. "How can such powerful resentment exist?"

CRACK! The sphere shattered. Red-tinged souls poured out – not human, but hulking beasts: nine-tailed foxes, winged tigers, all mutilated and raging.

"Celestial Foxes…" Gong Xi collapsed to her knees, trembling as she recognized the broken spirits. "My Clansmen… how?"

You You’s chest tightened. These Divine Clan souls had lost all reason, their forms flickering with murderous crimson. The moment they spotted living targets, the horde charged like rabid wolves.

"REVENGE!" they howled. "KILL ALL LONG CLAN!"

Feng Rong shoved You You behind him, flames dancing at his fingertips. "Stay back!"

"NO!" Gong Xi threw herself between them. "They’re my family!"

    Too late. The souls lunged-

    WHIP!

The bracelet-snake shot forward, growing to whip-length. Its tail lashed through the air with firecracker snaps, driving back the souls. Transparent walls erupted from the chamber pools, trapping the raging spirits.

The tiny guardian became a scaley bouncer, smacking down any soul daring to approach. Slap-slap-slaps echoed through the hall.

Realization struck – the Demon King’s seal hadn’t been guarding treasure, but containing this Divine Clan tragedy.

"Brother… Father…" Gong Xi crumpled, tears carving paths down her cheeks. The proud city lord looked suddenly small. "All these years… you were here…"

You You knelt beside her. "I’m so sorry…"

Gong Xi lunged into the hug, soaking You You’s shoulder. "They’re gone! All those centuries waiting… for nothing!"

Feng Rong’s jaw twitched but he stayed put. After seven shaky breaths, Gong Xi straightened. Grief hardened into cold fury.

"Long Clan did this." Her voice could’ve frozen lava. "That scheming Long Ting tricked us! Said we’d share the Demon King’s seal if we helped break into this Sacred Realm. Sacrificed half his warriors to cut through the sword energy wall – ‘proof of sincerity’."

She spat. "My family believed him. Twelve celestial foxes entered this Demon Hall. Only Long Clan returned, claiming ‘accidents happened’. Lies! This was their plan all along!"

Her fist smashed the floor. "We should’ve died in the Divine Realm with dignity, not become… this!"
