Chapter 307: A Play for Three

The sword energy around them intensified, causing even Yuan Qi’s defensive formations to waver. Without delay, the group charged toward the direction You You pointed.

“Next is the lower right corner,” You You called out as soon as they arrived.

Yuan Qi quickly calculated and declared, “Head to the southwest quadrant!”

The four soared toward the second safe point.

    “Upper left.”

    “Northeast quadrant’s clear.”

    “Ten feet down.”

    “South position’s safe.”

    “Upper right…”

You You and Yuan Qi alternated directions and calculations, pushing deeper into the sword wall. Though the sword energy grew fiercer and swifter the further they went, it still lagged behind You You’s skills, allowing them to narrowly evade danger each time.

As the Demon Hall’s outline came into view, the sword energy surged faster, nearly matching their speed.

    “North position—now!” Yuan Qi shouted.

They lunged toward the final point but faltered, the sword energy overtaking them.

“Too late!” Gong Xi paled. A rush of energy loomed behind them. You You spun to counter, but Feng Rong acted first. Red flames erupted, forming a blazing firewall.

“Move!” Feng Rong barked, yanking You You forward. Yuan Qi followed.

The sword energy dimmed as three broke free. Gong Xi, half-emerged, lagged—until You You grabbed her arm and hauled her out like yanking a stubborn root.

Unbalanced, You You stumbled, landing hard as Gong Xi crashed atop her. Two soft mounds smothered her face, cutting off air.

    “Mmph!” She flailed.

The weight shifted, revealing Gong Xi braced above her, cheeks crimson. You You’s gaze met the other woman’s chest.

    _Had she just been… buried?_

“You You!” Feng Rong’s enraged snarl split the air. He hurled Gong Xi aside and hauled You You up, trembling with fury. “You—you—” He sputtered, fists clenched.

Gong Xi scrambled up, glaring. “What’s your problem?!”

“You demon!” Feng Rong seethed. “Slowed down on purpose to get dragged out, didn’t you?!”

“Me?!” She gaped. “I’m injured! Ah You chose to help me—none of your business!”

    “Who’s pouncing on people?!”

    “Our matter, not yours!”

    “Fight me!”

    “Try it!”

“Enough!” You You grabbed Feng Rong’s arm. “It was an accident!”

“Always accidents with her?!” He shot her a betrayed look, eyes screaming unfairness.

“You You!” Yuan Qi’s calm voice cut through. “Look.”

A colossal black hall loomed ahead, pristine despite its ominous Pressure. The massive door glowed crimson, strange lights crawling across its surface like living veins. Clanks echoed within before it split open with a groan, revealing void-black depths.

You You glanced at Yuan Qi.

“Can you sense it?” he asked.

    “Deep inside,” she confirmed.

As they moved, Gong Xi stayed rooted. “You seek the Demon King’s seal?”

    They paused.

“Divine Clan members turning demon?” Her voice hardened. “Once you cross that line, there’s no return.”

“Who wants to be a demon?!” Feng Rong snapped.

“Then why?” Her gaze shifted to You You, still gripped by Feng Rong. “Release Ah You. Her low cultivation makes her useless to you. Take me instead.”

    Silence.

    You You: “…”

    Feng Rong: “…”

    Yuan Qi: “…”
